sorry for the newbie questions but i just want to be sure >

i can safely use https://wallet.crypti.me/ as my wallet instead of a local wallet on my computer?

im about to withdraw from Bter

Yes, you can!

Crypti has brain wallet so you just have to remember your secret passphrase. One secret passphrase is one account.

If you accidently enter a wrong secret passphrase a new account would be created.

ok, but is it not secure to send my passphrase over the internet to use web wallet?

The signing will be done locally (via Javascript) on your PC. So you will not send your passphrase over the internet at any time. Smiley

The only thing you need to be careful is, that if some 3rd party runs such a wallet, they could have modified the html page, so it sends your password to the owner.

https://wallet.crypti.me however is maintained by ourselves, so it's 100% secure to use it! Smiley

In the future we will have a light wallet, called Crypti Lite, which will allow to access the Crypti client without the blockchain download.

Does XCR use the brainwallet same as Nxt - all I need for creating an account is to create a long password to log in?

Yes.

Why does it always download blockchain after I install new version? Shouldn't it be stored somewhere on the computer?

The larger problem is that it needs 5 mins to load the blocks. This is slower than Bitcoin.

What do you mean? Can you explain in detail?

Well I start the client on a 3.3 GHz Core i5 and a SSD, the window comes up and loads the 250k blocks which takes 5 minutes.

First it's loading the blocks which are already on your computer (before the login screen). Then it's syncing to get the new blocks, which are not on your computer already (while, after login screen).

If it's taking you only 5 minutes for 260,000 blocks, that's pretty fast. At Bitcoin you need several days to sync. Wink

No it's NOT syncing, it's loading. The message says Loading block xx of yy in the middle of the window. After that you get the login screen, you login and in the right lower corner you see it's syncing new blocks which can take hours depending on how old your blockchain is (in my example loading took 5 minutes and syncing 15 minutes). It works just the same as with Bitcoin, the client is first loading the existing blockchain, then syncing the missing blocks, only that the loading part is 10 times faster with BTC.

Hi!
Thanks for response. I know about this problem too, and we will work on it in next releases.

Syncing is very quick. It took 10 minutes for 60k blocks at my Macbook Air.

Loading, yes that's pretty slow. But still quick (5 minutes).

The loading will be removed in v0.2.0. It will happen in the background then. Smiley

Hey, you guys.... keep up the withdraws from Bter...

They are limiting us to 10,000 XCR a day per account. It will take me weeks to get all my XCR out at this rate, but we are working on having Lin remove the limit.

We need to get Bter down below 30 Million, or 30% of XCR to enable DPOS.

You will need your XCR in your private wallet in order to vote for a Delegates in DPOS.  The votes are 1 vote per XCR, so 10,000 XCR gives you 10,000 votes.

Also, forming a delegate requires a XCR fee.  You will need your XCR for that as well.

Poloinex is open for all trading, deposits and withdraws if you want to keep your XCR on an exchange.  Polo is a good place to sell XCR right now, as there is 9 BTC of orders outstanding there to buy XCR.

Thank you!
But now we are going to have most of our XCR on another exchange! It would be ideal to have them spread across exchanges. Any plans for that?

It would be ideal to not have them on any exchange at all! Smiley

People should put their XCR into their wallets, print out the 1st and 2nd passPhrases and store it safely in a safe. Or at least with some password manager like KeyPass. Smiley

Normally when the price rises people are buying, so it will get more distributed anyways. Wink

Bter withdrawals activated

Finally! After we sent the newest Crypti client v0.1.9g to Bter yesterday (it was midnight in China), they responded to us this morning.

Lin the owner of Bter activated the withdrawal of XCR. Right now the maximum cap is 10,000 XCR. They are raising this cap step-by-step, but first it's important to know if everything is working.

I just tried to withdraw 5 XCR and it's working! Smiley

So, before you withdraw make your it's working for you as well. E.g. withdraw a few hundred XCR first.

Thank you all, for staying with us.

10000 XCR limit  Cry
I guess it's better than nothing...
But wow! This is going to take decades..
Can anyone come up with a good way to withdraw more?

Probably tomorrow or the day after the cap will be raised. A few days after it will probably be raised again. Wink

Edit: William was faster. Cheesy

We are working on having the limit raised to 100K, like it was last year, or removed.

Bear in mind, Bter moves any coin from cold wallets to hot wallets manually, which I assume only Lin can do.  I doubt if he trusts any employee with the cold wallet passwords anymore.

The XCR hot wallet is loaded with 12 million moved there about 5 hrs ago.

Perhaps tomorrow, Lin will raise the limit.

Everybody needs to get their XCR out of there and into their own wallets with 2nd passphrase activated!!! Hope they get Lin to uncap the limit ASAP. This entire process needs to happen for XCR to have any chance at staying alive.

Withdrawals from Bter work just fine.

Yes rtrtcrypto. Everyone need to get their XCR out of Bter and into their own wallet. It's not about getting Lin to remove the cap, it's intentional. We will raise it from time to time, fast enough to assure everything is going fine. Smiley

We need to have 51%+ outside of the exchanges. The more, the better.
