Very slow development of Windows wallet.  Sad It should be done before release of Crypti.

Yesterday I had a meeting with one of the team members. He was traveling to me, to my home town (in Germany). Everything went fine, we talked quite a bit about Crypti and its future.

I can say, that no other coin put that much work into their community. They are handling everything very professional. No comparison against any other coin. So I am very optimistic about Crypti.

I'm glad to be a part of this.

so you met every freakin coin dev in the world to end up with that sentence right ?

Just be a better coin. Do more and do faster. Look at your community and customers, not on competitors.

I think they can just clone it when crypti source code is released.  But hey, imitation is the ultimate form of flattery.

I don't think Node devs are gonna clone anything. They might use some ideas (or might not), but they're not kind of people who steal someone's code.

How Node can steal code if no published source?
Node works quite differently, there is no empty blocks, fast confirmation

That's what I'm saying. Ideas are always flying around in the air. What matters is how they've been coded. Let's wait for Crypti and Node sources, then make any conclusions.

I'm watching both projects
Technically, the Node wins.
Crypti big and heavy client, takes a lot of memory
Node fast, small blockchain

I believe in Cripty, but technically they are behind the Node

I think you did not consider 'forge' and 'Custom Blockchains',XCR forge has been implemented!
I think NODE might use some XCR ideas (not code).
Competition is a good thing Grin

Proof of Activity (PoA) from back in June. Didn't read it to see if it's the same or not, but the term at least has been around now.

Thanks for the support and your opinions guys. We really appreciate it! We just don't want to not act and have our supporters feel like we are letting someone steal our thunder and their money. So it's important to us that we get your perspective. We have a lot in the works and down the pipe that no one can duplicate. Plus I imagine they are starting to realize just how hard it is to actually implement our system. It took us 5 months to get to this point and get it right.

Thanks again!

I think keeping it in mind for now is good. At this point tho I don't think it's worth wasting your precious time arguing it with them. Like you said you have a lot coming down the pipe. At this point it is just the idea they have and nothing more. True quality will eventually show if they have more of someone else's ideas rather than their own. Keeping on track and ahead is what's important right now and crypti is way ahead.

CryptiKit Update

Hi Guys,

Another small update again today. Next week I will be working on something new for Crypti.
Any Ubuntu / OSX users out there looking at setting up some crypti nodes on cloud servers should checkout CryptiKit out.

Latest release: https://github.com/karmacoma/cryptikit/releases/tag/v1.2.0
Updated README: https://github.com/karmacoma/cryptikit/blob/0b1e796b0dc81bb7c1d063f8dd218f2b5d215117/README.md

Changelog

  • Replaced "get_loading", "get_forging" and "get_balances" with single task "check_nodes"
  • Implemented dependency checks on local/remote machines before executing tasks
  • Removing orphan accounts when saving server list

Check Nodes

Command:
Code:
rake check_nodes

NOTE: Previously available commands "get_loading", "get_forging" and "get_balances" have now been removed. This new command outputs the same information as before except within a single task.

Example

Code:
Checking nodes...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Node[0]: 111.11.11.111 (9473799116182005461C)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Loaded:      true
Height:      31242
Blocks:      28594
Forging:     true
Balance:     1002.92826902
Unconfirmed: 1002.92826902
Effective:   1002.92826902

They might have the idea but crypti has it implemented. The crypti white paper shows who came first. Makes ya wonder about certain people strangely pushing for source code release so soon.
I say move on and keep eyes peeled. Staying professional is important. Crypti has so much more to offer.

I meant that if someone stole a few words from the whitepaper, who cares. Code will show who is who.

Exactly...

Even if someone copy-paste Crypti it wont have any advantage, especially in the long run!
Its clear that NODE has more focused on exiting people with promises and nice white paper design, than actually implement something!

Crypti devs didnt have time designing white paper because its not really important - they prefered working on actuall code instead. Yes, yes few bugs and problems but thats how it is when really building something new and inovative!

So devs dont worry for copy-pasters, they wont stand a chance once Crypti enviroment is fully established.

I would really like to hear your thoughts and ideas on how we should approach this.

I think that there is nothing you can do. You should definitely let your opinion heard on the matter, but it is pointless to push it further. In a world where is hundreds of simple clone coins floating around, you can do very little about someone copying an idea.

You should focus on developing and building the community, and shrug everything else off.

I'm afraid I have to agree with the fact that there is nothing that can be done.  My only suggestion would be to remain professional (as you have been all along) and let it run its course.

Those Node devs keep blowing smoke, and I don't think there is any way that they can deliver.

yup i agree; who cares about node?

at the end you can cheat; lie; manipulate; but if you aren't delivering usefull stuff you will lose; so i assume node is condamned to lose; and their lies could eventually make their project live a bit longer than pure honesty. whatever; keep focus on crypti; in p2p societies who cares about who made what at the end?

good luck crypti!

What really matters is implementation, not idea.
