I believe this is the correct way to add that "C:\Program Files (x86)\XCurrency\XCurrency-qt.exe" -distmix-autonode . If not can someone please correct this.

Well, I did that. Wallet started. No errors yet....but...
how i can verify mixing is working?
can i monitor somewhere?  see transactions, or smth?
Any  debug mode or command?   Or just wait some time ( how long?) , and I will see something indicating that it is working OK?

If you started it with -distmix-autonode, it should be fine.

You won't see the mixing status before you start mixing, and with current test release you won't get any fees for mixing - actually, you pay -0.00001 for mixing. That should be resolved on next release, I guess.

When you start mixing, you should see this in the main window:

Transaction tab shows the same amount, but "Type"-tab is blank with no text. You can check out the mixing via block explorer. Just paste your wallet address at https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xc/.

hi Synechist do you think we can have the announcement before 8 PM GMT tomo?

Yes, most probably.

thanks.. any Idea on why the error above? and will tomo be released as well a new torstick ISO for the xmixer?

It doesn't work on wallet console. Create a shortcut for XCurrency-qt.exe on your XCurrency-folder.  Right click on the shortcut, choose properties, and add -distmix-autonode at the end of target.

Thank you if I try to put a short cut in the folder does not make me do it and it says He can do it just in the desktop if I click on properties in the short-cut on the desktop I have this on Target:"C:\Program Files (x86)\XCurrency\XCurrency-qt - Copy.exe" if I put this it does not work: "C:\Program Files (x86)\XCurrency\XCurrency-qt -distmix-autonode.exe"

Yes, one IP per app is the plan. We wouldn't want to make it easy to decentralise the network.

Linux daemon... generally we'll release a Windows version, after which other versions follow. It'll probably be the same here.

The same would apply for a TOR Stick version. It'll come, but it wont come first.

Would it work if running over TOR only?

To commodify ethicality is to ethicise the market
"However, since mixing can only be between nodes that are currently making private payments, this gives rise to two underlying scenarios that could limit this capacity:"

wasn't the first plan that every xc app would be a mixer and that you only could earn transaction fees if there are xxx XC in it?
i can't understand the quoted sentence above because even with the xmixer there might be the problem that there are too few xmixers online at any given time so that transactions could be cancelled.

can someone explain that to me please, the fact why the wallet is now divided into "normal app" + "xmixer".

thank you!

+1.
And what also bothers me is that you have to keep your coins online.

You don't have to be a XMixer you know?   The choice is yours...

a) you want to earn fees, leave it 1000 per wallet online and be a XMixer
b) you just want to stake, then just unlock wallet once in a while
c) you don't give a crap, cold storage offline only

Sure I don't have to. I am just drawing attention to what might become a security hole: online wallet with known real IP address and 1k XC in it and likely being either unencrypted or holding private keys in memory... Neglecting all kinds of possible vulnerabilities on a host itself, once there is a way to make the daemon misbehave - count your coins are gone. Unless there is some intricate protocol feature to protect against this which I doubt is possible. This is why I'm rising this question.

BTW, when would Linux daemon for XMixer be available?

You should run the mixer inside TOR, takes your IP out of the equation.

I believe I saw a message from some official XC person that dedicated IP is required for each instance of XMixer.
Synechist, some clarification would be useful. Also the question about Linux daemon is still relevant.

It sure would be helpful if there was information located somewhere on how to setup Xmixer! I asked two days ago and still no information available. This cant be good for anyone purchasing the required amount to not be able to find the information needed to accomplish what seems to be a very simple task.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.8792059

read the readme.txt

The release date for the Xmixer is tomorrow.

How to set one up will become clearer when you no longer have to use a test release.

By Rev 3, a how-to guide should be almost unnecessary.

Thank you for the reply. Does this -distmix-autonode go on the Target line "Program Files (x86)\XCurrency\XCurrency-qt.exe" Just not understanding where to add that at.

The wallet console.

Actually I suspect people will be really active since tomorrow, I mean on the creative side. I have created a newb friendly coin control guide, some1 could set up another guide with pictures as well. Ofc it would be even better if there was an official guide in main site as well, but we still have time before rev3 for that, anything community created should suffice till then.
