Hello Everyone,
I need to say something real quick...... I'm a proud XC bag holder as well as a proud bag holder of Dark and Vertcoin. I believe all three coins have their strengths and weaknesses. I'm seriously sick and tired of researching coins on the forums and seeing nothing but useless fud and people arguing. Re-quoting and arguing with other posters does absolutely nothing to help promote XC. All it does is discourage investors, having to scroll through pages and pages of worthless arguments to find anything useful. When I jump on a forum and have to dig and dig to find what I'm looking for, I just end up walking away with a bad taste in my mouth about that particular coin. It gives me an idea of the type of people invested in that coin. Please, lets change the game here for XC! No more arguing with fuders and no more re-quoting ignorant people! Also, investors want to see innovation and development. If you are qualified to speak in either of those departments, post! If your not, please don't. If we create a forum of just good info for investors and holders, you will see XC's value go through the roof!!
Absolutely right! Thats why today we discussed some ethical questions and Synechist took the lead in making a list with guidelines for the community! These are still up for discussion! So if you have any to add feel free to contribute
Yes, this would be valuable.
How about this?
1. Be good to each other
2. Be gracious to "enemies"
3. Completely ignore spam, FUD, and abusive comments
4. If you respond to anything with the above in it, erase the offending remarks from your reply before posting, because leaving it in will allow it to incite further offense. (Also Teka might delete your post.)
5. Don't ever spread FUD elsewhere. Respect other projects. XC doesn't need to compete with them; it's strong enough on its own.
6. Be patient with newbies. There'll be a lot of them arriving as XC grows.
7. The way you treat people makes up 95% of what's relevant in a post; the information supplied is 5%.
8. The way XC appears to the world depends on the way you are to other people.
9. Be aware of the difference between what you perceive and what you infer from your perceptions (e.g. statements vs. the intentions suggested by statements).
10. You devalue yourself by being aggressive/insulting/etc.
11. If we don't treat opponents well, then we just take on their mode of interacting instead of imparting our mode of interacting.
12. So be good to each other.

Yeah, having a team to frequent trollboxes (and anywhere else) is an awesome idea. However I'd construe the role of a trollbox team not as controlling information (since we have no monopoly on it), but as fostering community.
Our mode of interaction with others accounts for 95% of communication; the information supplied is 5%. So when we interact, we don't just give out facts, we give out a way of treating others, of being together.
This suggests that communicating and being a person effectively come down to the same thing: how we come across, that is, how we are in relation to others.
It also suggests that to be valuable to the world, XC requires its community, since we're what is presented to the world. Furthermore, the way XC appears to the world depends on the way we are to other people.
Therefore, be gracious to people (especially "enemies"). Be generous in your interpretation of their statements, especially when they're not generous to you. If we don't do this, then we just take on their mode of interacting instead of imparting our mode of interacting.
Be aware of the difference between what you perceive and what you infer from your perceptions (e.g. statements vs. the intentions suggested by statements). Be aware of the value of community and the value of how you come across, rather than defending the value of XC's tech without considering how you might devalue yourself by being aggressive/insulting/etc. Foster community. Remind people of the value of their role. Be to others what you'd have the XC community be to itself.
Basically what I'm getting to is that good tech without good ethics lacks value. If the XC team and community were a bunch of arseholes, XC would lack sufficient reason to exist.
