If you install the new xmr stack there is even a message saying something like, brought to you by ryo coin, the coin where we will be able to do everything we were not able to do in Monero, or something along these lines... WTF?? Deleted it immediately after I read this.

Hello guys and gals.

Been away for some time, but was thinking I'd run a Monero miner again in some small pool to support the network.
I was going through the OP to find the necessary resources, but am finding that a bunch of information there is quite outdated. Old miners, broken link to forum and others, etc. This is just a heads up, as I didn't quite have the time to review everything or come up with corrections...

Finally, could someone point me to a helpful post with *current* information on how to mine? Thanks!  Smiley

Basically I don't know how long you have been away but alot has changed with XMR in the last year. Basically we first got the network hit with ASICs, which lead to a hard-fork called Cryptonite V7, and last week we had the algorithm changed again due to unfair FGPA mining.

The only miners supported are SRBMiner and XMR-Stak. The rest don't work anymore. Nicehash just uses XMR-Stak in the background and Claymore miner only support V7.

Depending on what GPU you have, you can make more profit mining XMR than ETH and the other coins.

It wasn't changed due to unfair FPGA mining. It was changed again because thats the new policy. Every 6 months the monero network is gonna have a different tweaked PoW.

Because its more fun that way.

You can set the blockchain location to the proper directory on the settings page. May I ask why you deleted everything though? You should've simply followed the instructions on how to upgrade here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/9ol2ic/gui_v01303_beryllium_bullet_released/

To answer your question. The problem is I didn't know how to stop new wallet from downloading blockchain to my C driver ProgramData\bitmonero and my C drive is SSD on which I don't have enough space for blockchain.
I couldn't find instructions either.
Ok, so in wallet Settings > Node > I chose directory of old blockchain but I see it is not connecting to that but downloading again from start.
What is the proper directory setup to connect, do I need to choose some file? Instructions are not clear about that.

Tokens.net, a new exchange from Bitstamp founder Damian Merlak just added XMR / USDT and XMR / BTC pairs.

Pros:

  • No KYC (email only) withdrawals up to $2k / day.
  • Registering a phone number allows for up to $10k worth of daily withdrawals.
  • Known and reputable owner, won't pull a HitBtc KYC scam on you.
  • Supports withdrawing to integrated addresses and to regular addresses with payment ID.

Cons:

  • It's still pretty low volume.

With the arrival of the bull season, Monero will show how valuable and important this project is.I'm absolutely sure of that.

Monero is probably one of the best privacy coins out there, with a legit professional team

I deleted old wallet and want to upgrade to new one. I have seeds, wallet pass and blockchain files, how do I connect new wallet with blockchain files so it doesn't download everything?
I tried just using new wallet but it started synch to different driver to my C: where is small SSD drive and I don't have space there for that.

Need to connect new wallet to where is blockchain on my D hdd drive.

Dero is on a tear - it's up about 4x over the last month or so, likely due to finally getting some marketing going for it.

Congrats, is the premine locked now?

Yep - the premine was locked with releases scheduled over time. So, moving in the right direction, but for risk/portfolio management I sold a chunk of my dero position, anyway, and used the proceeds to buy more XMR and ETH.

Glad to hear it, maybe I'll go back and check it out again.

Still wild and free
Guys, tell please, why new wallet contains more risks than an old wallet ?

new (monero-gui-win-x64-v0.13.0.3.zip)
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/5dfed8e36057bbffbddfe10ca5543666553e3c2aa21752c0ed0592a2592befdc/detection

old (monero-gui-win-x64-v0.12.3.0.zip)
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/947efb72418d9ee60ccb0a2afa1f85553fa6a777a0a4e0f89f353592c84e00dc/detection

It does not contain "risks". These are false positives, probably due to the mining code within the binaries that is shared by some mining malware.

For those of you that missed Monero with Benedikt Bünz, author of Bulletproofs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47n4tzbd85w  (and considering the number of views seems quite a few missed it),

Some blockexplorers are either stuck or are displaying the wrong (alternative) chain. A list of blockexplorers that display the correct chain can be found here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/9psozw/is_there_any_monero_explorer/

Ok, if those blockexplorers are ok than my transaction is fine. So the fault is on cryptopias site I guess .. I'll just wait for their support team to check Smiley

Their support team should be able to resolve your issue.
