I wonder if Monero will launch a Masternode?

Look at the limited amount of coins being supported by SetupMasternodes.com
and they're looking to support Quality Masternode based coins.

XMR team is solid, and hopes it can get it going with a MN

Why would XMR really need Masternodes? XMR certainly doesn't need to attempt to make this coin more anonymous by mixing them like Dash does.

yeah, good point on that part. I guess it wouldn't only be the purpose of mixing but an option for people to use the mixing feature? just curious

Adding Masternodes would compromise Monero's anonymity not increase it so you are extolling the virtues of a poor idea thats only reason for being is to increase holders coins and facilitate P&D's.

I think the current mixing process is very good. NO need for the master nodes.

I see now. That's because of the current structure, right?

Yes, in order for a Masternode to work, it needs to somehow relay to the network that a certain input indeed has enough collateral. The network also needs to know the IP or Onion routing address of your Masternode. The ring signatures and the cryptonote protocol basically makes it impossible to determine exactly where the outputs/inputs belong unless you have the viewing key. I suppose that it is possible to somehow get Masternodes or any other proof of stake scheme to work without having to reveal to the entire network that this input/output belongs to a certain address. I'm sure there are a few shitcoins out there that have tried. I must admit that I haven't done enough research to know if their work around truly leaves the stake holder's/ Masternode holder's inputs/outputs anonymous.

I'm glad I never used them after reading their terms, I'd be really pissed if I had coins I couldn't get off it right now. I wonder when they are going to be seizing coins?

YEAH. That's like a really good customer experience should be... Nothing bad about that some people are BDSM based and they will sure appreciate it.
I don't want make WERBUNG to our site. But it looks like we are going underground soon and the only supported coins will be only MONERO and Zcoin. Still waiting for approval from our team members. But this will be for the best. WE don't need loosers that order our hard make Visa BTC anonymous ATM card and never use it in ATM. Actually maybe we stop issue anonymous btc visa atm visa cards...... It's sad but 99% people don't care to be anonymous anymore. So we will be working only with dark markets... look up for us there....

This opens incredible perspectives. Tari is
1) Monero atomic swaps between Litecoin => anonymity defense: Japan's Coincheck sucks delisting Monero. We will just 'atomic swap' it to Litecoin.
2) Anonymous tokens => rules forever!

Many people think anonymity is just about terrorists, drugs and money-laundering.
NO! Anonymity is a Fundamental Financial Base, because otherwise, financial system is One Huge Vulnerability.
If any street gangster KNOWS (via blockchain) WHO owns HUGE money, he will just come to the vulnerable person with anal crypto-analysis, and the person just says the wallet secret key to a gangster under wild anal pine. Cops?! They sucks. they have been already bought by a gangster for profit percent.

So, to avoid that One Huge Vulnerability, the financial system MUST be Totally Anonymous.

Other "anonymous" coins suck. Even ZCash fully depends on the initial secret parameters generation trust. Also ZCash is very vulnerable to transactions between "normal" and "private" addresses.

Only Monero based on deep science research made on ring signatures since 2000, i.e. 18 years of test in both mathematical papers and "war" practice, is THE ONLY TRUE cryptocurrency.

If its a miscrafted url then the certificate would be irrelevant?

If you mis-type the URL, or follow a phishing link, it's your own fault Tongue

I suppose in this regard, a desktop application is better.

I've been trying to catch the bottom in relation to btc for a long time, but with such big fluctuations it's not so easy to do. Now I see a small drop, perhaps just now a very good opportunity to buy coins even more.

XMR pair on a new exchange with atomic swaps. How bullish is it for XMR? I like Monero way more than ZEC. ZCash had some issues with private investors and its incentives in general...

#9th is undervalued, haha. When more people realise that Monero's privacy tech is the best out here we will see more action.

Fully independent means not connected to the Mymonero site that has been compromised many times in the past, so thats a pretty easy question to answer. People are concerned about MITM on Mymonero (as they should be). Can it be pointed at a local DB without re-coding?

When was MyMonero ever compromised?
There has been cases of individual accounts getting hacked due to human error or malware infected pc, but I never heard of whole site being compromised.

It has been theorized that cloudflare may have been involved but I don't think there was any real investigation done. There are a bunch of reddit posts you can find. Possible MITM attack, who knows there are member here who have lost a shitload and no they were not attributed to viruses nor human error.

Birr is one member off the top of my head who got screwed if you want to do a search.

Shit it could have been a sidechannel attack, who knows. Spectre or Meltdown is undetectable and could be run from a VM on the same machine so it could have been anyone that could even just rent a VM if they identified the machine. Or if they had access to the machine at all so anyone in that pool is suspect.

It's the gift that just keeps on giving. Smiley
