Monero network forked around 1257043

I think there's some bug at monero network.

Detailed info

Any idea?

Reposting what I said on Reddit:

Just to clarify, it's not a fork, and it does not appear to be malicious. A portion of nodes running 0.10.2.0 or 0.10.2.1 handled a reorg badly, leaving a hash->index entry in the database that should've been cleaned up, causing those nodes not to be able to sync past that block.

To reiterate: it is not a consensus issue, it is not a fork, and it does not appear to be malicious. It is a DB bug that affected a limited number of nodes.

At this time we are debugging it further, and will roll a new point release out when we have a fix.

A quick fix is to export and reimport your blockchain.

Another great day to sell some Dash and buy Monero.

Yeah that's what I did, I anticipate Monero will be on top 4 in market capitalizations soon.

Fellow monero miners, please help!

I'm building a 6 x MSI rx480 4gb(stock bios) mining rig. Using Biostar TB85 Mobo with windows 7x64.
I installed the latest updates and AMD drivers, but I have an issue where only 4 of 6 vide cards are recognized by the system.
The other two report error 43 device manager.

I have tried moving the cables around, always the same 2 cards in the device manager. Card 3 and card 5. This makes me believe that cards and risers are not an issue, but it is either os/driver or the mobo.
I have the same mobo running 6 GTX1070 with no issues...

Any insight would be very appreciated.
If you don't know what my issue is, but know what motherboard works, please let me know.

make sure you set your PCIE lanes in the bios to x1. Thats all thats needed for mining and i found any higher setting like x16 stopped me from using all cards.

Its alright. I purposely didn't post my real Monero address just so it won't be publicly known. I don't want it tracked. I thought it same length though. but your explanation is good.
I think I can go on now  and buy XMR this time on kraken. Thanks for verifying.

Good thing to do, but I'll mention that if it's known, payments to or from it still can't be tracked from the blockchain itself. Not sure if you know or not, but it's a good time to point it out for our readers Smiley

Hi, this is my first time trying to buy monero for an investment.  I just wonder if this is right because I'm only in kraken.
I tried generating and XMR wallet and it looks like this:
Code:
4GdoN7NCTi8a5gZug7PrwZNKjvHFmKeV11L6pNJPfLO65j5QNEHsN6eMJHxfaX3DaAQFwZ1ufD4LYCZKArktt11UW7QjW7TqfRf4b4VgHEWN

is this right?

That's a Monero integrated address (108 characters[edit below]), not a regular Monero address (95 characters). An integrated address is a Monro address with a Payment ID. But you can receive Monero with it.

https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/3179/what-is-an-integrated-address

EDIT: hang on, that address is not checking when I tested it on https://xmr.llcoins.net/addresstests.html
Don't do anything yet. Your address is 108 characters when it's supposed to be 106 (integrated) or 95 (regular).
Would you double-check the address and post back?

Sudden pump  Shocked
And what about context?  Huh

Possibly investors shifting their interest towards XMR.

ETH and DASH have been getting a bit of attention the last week or so, was hoping XMR would get some uptrend inline with the other two coins

^ Thanks for sharing.

However you are in the Monero sub-forum, focused on security and privacy: nobody is going to click that indirect link (at least I don't).

How to Purchase Monero with ShapeShift.io!

We wanted to share this video that Youtuber Sean Logan created to demo using our exchange.  Smiley

Enjoy!

Watch it here: http://bit.ly/2mH6EuL

No way to use your service, why? You charge hidden fee, if we buy from exchanges we can buy 100 XMR, if we buy in your shit site, we can only get 90 XMR, you eat too much and too ugly. Shame on you, greedy bastard.

Oh jeez, and what exactly have you done for the Monero community? Sure, he charges a fee, just like exchanges do - who doesn't? Maybe theirs are higher for other reasons?  .... Wake up, man... Everyone wants progress but don't like ask him why, just keep whining about paying fees/money... Tongue
