Can someone explain "Enforce claiming maximum coinbase amount monero" please.

Is it both CLI and GUI ?

It is a protocol rule. Thus, it will affect all wallets.

I mine XMR 24/7, the current HR is low (I've sen it 50% higher few weeeks ago), and I like it ! More rewards for my CPU.

Can someone explain "Enforce claiming maximum coinbase amount monero" please.
Miners can theoretically mine blocks with smaller block rewards now. No one does it of course, but it's not enforced by consensus code. After the upgrade, they'll be forced to mine only blocks with block reward given by the emission curve.

Will it be advisable to change the algorithm again according to you?
No. There are no signs of any specialized hardware yet. If the network hashrate goes up, it'll be probably because of new Ryzen CPUs released and XMR price going up.

Apparently according to Clubic News the new Nvidia 3090 rtx turbo card is announced with a hashrate of 162 and a consumption of 380 to 390watts.  The difficulty of extraction XMR will take easily up to 40 or 50% in the coming months!
Even if it does, it will not be because of new GPUs. DYOR on RandomX.

Dear participants of the Monero ecosystem,

CLI v0.17.0.0 has been tagged and release binaries have been made
available on our website. The full release post can be found on our
blog:https://www.getmonero.org/2020/09/17/monero-0.17-released.html
The GUI v0.17.0.0 release will follow shortly.

Please be reminded that on the 17th of October a scheduled network
upgrade will take place on the Monero network. To be sufficiently
prepared, a user, service, merchant, pool operator, or exchange should
run CLI v0.17 or GUI v0.17. The scheduled network upgrade introduces
three consensus changes. First and foremost, a new ring signature
construction, namely CLSAG, will be introduced. CLSAG enables smaller
and faster transactions with rigorous security. A report of the
successful audit of CLSAG can be found on our
blog:https://www.getmonero.org/2020/07/31/clsag-audit.html

Secondly, unlock times are now deterministic. Thirdly, coinbase
rewards now have to be claimed in full.

Additionally, in accordance with our previous announcement, there will
be no change to the mining algorithm (RandomX). Thus, miners will not
have to update their mining software. See
https://www.getmonero.org/2020/09/01/note-scheduled-upgrades.html for
more info.

Note that an informational post regarding the scheduled network
upgrade has been posted on our blog containing more in-depth
information for users and miners:
https://www.getmonero.org/2020/08/18/network-upgrade-october-2020.html

If any assistance is required, feel free to contact the Monero dev
community at #monero-dev (freenode - IRC).

Kind regards,

The Monero dev community

That's an incorrect perspective. It's not against Monero. Just read:

Those are just free audits of Monero code. It is only fair that taxes are sometimes well spent.

Thank's  Grin
I had issues getting a transaction in the mem pool and verified on 0.16.0.3. After 45min i flushed the tx_pool, tried the same on 0.16.0.1, same issue so switched back to 0.16.0.0 and everything run smoothly in a few minutes. What i want to express is the fact, that if you make small tweaks in the main version (0.16.x) and this is not broadly used, you can not use the upgraded version as soon as you have the next upgrade to 0.17.x, st least that is my feeling after the weekend.

With the new GPU Nvidia series the difficulty is going to make a giant leap, timing is ideal to hide the ghost secret ASICS exploits

never used to be.  Didn't they shill dash once upon a time?

I recall them posting positive stuff about bytecoin and its clones which was complete crap. The coins were all from the same group.

Yeah, some trash or other.  I never went back.

Do you mean cointelegraph?
I do not know many legit sites in the crypto world, hence everybody has a subjective view on things, so ...  Grin

I don't want to come off as a crazy old man but...

Coin Telegraph was started shortly after ByteCoin was "discovered". Apparently, ByteCoin had been around for years but was just found.  It claimed to only work on CPUs, not GPUs or custom stuff. It was a scam.

CT were proponents of ByteCoin and ran positive stories. Someone associated with them bought my CPU hash website (see above) and quickly added CT advertising which is still there. Why is that old, outdated site still alive?

Read this old post regarding ByteCoin and the related coins. There may be a few small errors but is generally correct.

I know that thread quite well, but thanks again for sharing  Cheesy
As i said, there are a ton of sites out there and the "coincidents" are readable but not prooven, so i think we should skip bytecoin as it has evolved to monero. As i recall an interview with fluffy he said "The DEV of bytecoin was brilliant but an asshole!" I think it is time to move on and leave bytecoin with the other copies of monero behind, hence those are nowhere near monero, so that is enough proof for me  Grin Wink

You "know that thread quite well"?
