Raspberry pi 3 is arm8.   I see only arm7 at getmonero.org.  Will monero for arm7 run on the Raspberry pi 3?

Yes, arm7 binaries work on rpi 3.

Any news on the shiny official GUI? People want graphics not 80's style interface. And btw the monero forum is not working since 1 week.

All I know is that there are a few bugs to be squashed and a few GUI commits were merged yesterday.  I guess we are less than 2 weeks away™©

Last night I had a dream that I was using the CLI which greatly impressed the person who was with me  Cool

I'm mining for AMD FX-8350 processor using Claymore CryptoNote CPU Miner v3.5 Beta achieving 250 m/s. I saw in some forums achieving rates of 350 m/s using LUCASJONES CPUMINER but could not get the same performance.  What do you suggest as mining or configuration to be able to get a h/s largest of my processor? Thank you.
Hello! I use this: https://github.com/wolf9466/cpuminer-multi
And in default freq(4.0GHz) on the same CPU i have 396..422h/s.
Compiled with CFLAGS='-O3 -march=native'(Linux Mint 17.3 x64)
So, my R9 270 have 440h/s with 1150/1500.

No news about it so far. Official announcement will likely come when the GUI is ready.

Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it
Invested in XMR now, it's a shame i didn't do it earlier, i only got 190XMR for 11 million XDN. After doing some research it is clear that XMR will be the winning anoncoin, it might not have a lot of bells and whistles but that doesn't really matter.
What was your entry level ? I think price is still testing lower price everyday better to buy some at around 0.01BTC price range. Still waiting for my 0.01BTC buy orders to get filled  Grin

Why do you think it will reach 0.01 btc? And when do you think it will reach that point? a week a month?

I think that might be too low to hope for. I'm not convinced it will drop that low before the next big rise and I'd have substantial FOMO.

I've learned the way to not have FOMO is to understand that you already MO. Smiley

I averaged slightly over .015 unfortunately, i would have saved $150 by waiting another day  Angry i still have a lot more money to invest in this shit, actually i am not really a fan of monero but profits is more important Grin

It doesn't matter that other anoncoins has features XMR lacks, what matters is the network effect. There is no shortage of alts that is technically better than bitcoin that ended up failing miserably.

I set my FX-8320 at constant 4GHz (no throttle no energy savings).
I mine with 7 cores -t 7 (no sense for 8 cores, there is not enough cache to gain even some little hashes more).
If i remember correct, Claymore CryptoNote CPU Miner gave me about 320 h/s. Maybe playing with bus speed gives better results.
You can try also cpuminer-multi-wolf-06-09-2014 https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/wolfs-xmrbcndsh-cpuminer-2x-speed-compared-to-lucasjones-new-06202014-632724
This gives me about 285 h/s with the same configuration and -t 7 too.

Having many nodes on the network takes a little getting used to  Cool

Yes and there are many more unreliable nodes now. Nodes that run major services such as exchanges, mining pools, etc. are long-uptime 24/7. When lots of people are joining the community and running nodes on their own computers there are many more connection issues. Not a problem, just sometime I've observed.

Monero Core Team
I have a notebook computer that runs great and has a very small ssd.
And I have a notebook computer that's a dog and has a much bigger ssd.
I want to take the big ssd out of the crummy computer and put it in the good computer.
The computers:
A. The dog: an old asus eee pc 1000ha that the previous owner installed an ssd in. I bought the computer and am ready to pitch it, after removing the ssd.
B. The good computer: a chromebook c720p that runs good, but has a small ssd. It runs galliumos.
The thing is, I have the monero blockchain on the chromebook. If I were to swap in the drive from the asus and reinstall galliumos, I would lose this file and have to spend hours syncing the blockchain again. I have to go my university library and use the wifi there, because it is the only way I can get a reasonably fast connection.
I'm considering cloning the chromebook's ssd. This is something I've never done and the little I know about it comes from watching youtube videos.
Is it worth buying an adapter and trying to clone the ssd?

ASUS recommends Windows
from https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Eee_PC_1000HA/overview/ I suspect the reason why this computer "runs like a dog" is because of the above extremely poor recommendation on the part of the manufacturer. I would put a lean GNU/Linux distribution on it and after de-fenestration I suspect it would have no problem keeping up with the Monero network for some time.
