People often like to purport that Monero will inevitably get banned. However, the new FinCEN guidance is basically inconsistent with that notion. From the CoinCenter article:

Quote
Section 4.5.3 states that exchanges are not per se banned from using privacy-preserving cryptocurrencies but will need to comply with the same BSA regulations they comply with for typical cryptocurrencies. We believe that this is possible. Exchanges need to know their customers but they do not have a black letter law requirement to know the customers of their customers. In other words, a bank needs to know who you are but they are not obligated to know the name and address of people that you pay using cash you withdraw from your account.

Arguably, this is long-term bullish for Monero.
Now let's see if Coinbase is mensch enough to list our beloved Marilyn Monero.  Ha ha, if only.

As market start recovering and price increases, interest on monero start growing as google trends show: https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=%2Fm%2F0130q41b

Guess there is a possibility that Random X gets implemented on a very bullish market.

RandomX is set to be implemented in October (conditional on audits being completed successfully).

I like progress done on Random X so far, and last status update looks good: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/bmybxn/randomx_status_update/

why the price of Monero falls in Bitcoin, while the dollar price is almost in place. With the rise in Bitcoin prices, one would expect that the Monero price at least remained constant, rather than falling.

Normal when bitcoin is pumping.

We have a speculation thread for these questions btw. Wink

It's funny to compare interest by region before and after 2014. Smiley

Is it possible to store XMR on hardware wallets? How convenient is this for newbies?
It is for advanced users, because you have to be responsible to secure your wallet, your backup, your private key. So, if you are newbies in crypto, you should stick to exchanges' address to store your money. Remember to choose reliable exchanges, like Binnance, Block chain, Coinbase, ask so on. Always should stay away from small exchanges because their security is worse than big exchanges, and in bad situation (attacks) they might not compensate for their users.

I am against storing crypto on exchanges, regardless of their size.

Yes. I'd argue it is doable. It is a bit more complicated than other coins such as ETH, but with assistance of this guide you should be able to manage:

I thought it was relatively straight forward. Nano S.

But you do need to run the gui wallet (and sync up a node) and use the hw wallet as your "secure key holder"

Watched a video, cryptodad or something on you tube for the main points.

Main take away point was virus software will delete MoneroD  is there anything that can be done about that?

Adding it to the exclusions in your virus software is the answer for now.

Technically, this method of storing xmr on NanoC is possible only ?

Its these blasted malware miners of course, but after a fork can we get it reset as bug fixed or something?

I haven't used antivirus software for many years.  Maybe I can get away with it because I don't use Windows.
I use linux pc and android phone.  Performing updates immediately is more important than antivirus, in my opinion.

Welcome Wink

"Solo Mining Pool" is an Oxymoron.

It's not really. For one thing, until recently you had to setup a private pool if you wanted to GPUs mine anyway, which isn't the most straightforward thing to do for a lot of people I'd guess. But more importantly you want a very well connected node broadcasting your blocks, otherwise you're going to lose more blocks to orphans than you would end up paying fees to a solo mining pool.

Yes you can setup your own pools to solo mine but this is just a pool that named itself solo. It can be argued what the context of "pool" is in each instance whether pooling ones resources alone is solo yet pooling them collectively is not as is the case here.

How It Works?
It's solo mining pool.
Each miner works independently.
The block reward goes to the miner who found it.
Block search time depends on your hashrate and luck.

Ahh, I was thrown by the posting of all miners additive as the pool hashrate my bad. I guess whoever mines there should keep an eye one the blocks they mine.
