Hi, I've just setup a new pool on a linux VPS.

Does anyone have the best way to start/run bitmonerod on boot? Everything I seem to try breaks stuff or doesnt seem to work.

thanks for any info/help - i searched extensively, but came up completely short. :\

crontab -e

add this at the end:

Code:
@reboot screen -dmS monero /path/to/bitmonerod/bitmonerod

You can then connect to your bitmonerod with screen -r monero and disconnect with control-a d

Ah, hell, that's genius, I never would have thought of that, thanks as always. Wink

Good time for mining with net hash rate down.  Grin

But it is still cheaper to buy for most people. For some people, the cost of mining is almost 0.

There any good pool? If i have stable 2khs speed, what is my daily gain?

You can try monero.net (fee 0.5%, 100% goes to monero dev), but don't forget to use some backup pool. I think 2khs ~ 1.4...2 XMR per 24h.

how to make 1 kh/s per pc? this must be heavy machines no? xeon workstations or something similiar or am i wrong?

That or GPUs

wouldnt it better to use 1 PC with many GPUs than 1 PC 1 GPU?
I assume that was CPU.

Yes it is generally better to build GPU rigs with multiple GPUs per computer to minimize cost for motherboard, CPU, PSU, etc.. The cost curve is a bit less severe with Monero since you can mine on the CPU as well so the CPU+MB isn't pure overhead.

When i start using Minexmr.com i got 2XMR day with 1.50-2khs speed. Now it give me a 0.500 for 22 or 24 hrs. why this happend?

There any good pool? If i have stable 2khs speed, what is my daily gain?

Varience!

They should find a block every ~2hrs.  It has been 8 hrs since they last found a block.  Yesterday they went 17 hrs to find a block.
The day before that they had 2 blocks found after 22 & 26 min respectively.
And the day before that they found 3 blocks consecutively in 25, 22 and 5 minutes as well as one in 10 hrs.

Nothing abbynormal and it all works out in the long run.

Reward depends on the difficulty. Today 2kh/s should give ~ 1.5 +/- 1 XMR/day

OK, thanks for the clarification.
Yesterday was a really good day of mining for you. Congrats.

But, you really must provide more data points to be able to average it.
Also, since you said that some days the pool doesn't find a block, it seems that the more correct estimate would be 0 to 7.9 XMR per day.
That averages to 3.95 XMR per day, roughly what I would expect for 3.5khash/sec total hashing power.

Yeah good point.  Most days we get a block at least one anyway.  But about once every 10 days or so we will have a dry spell and no blocks.  Didn't put all the math together as I'm sitting on lunch break and didn't have time to do a daily average calculation.  I will say Monerohash.com has been solid and the operator which is    osensei is on point.  Code patches and updates mostly applied same day issues are reported by dev's and others.

Hey Drhiggins, just wanted to thank you for your support! Smiley
