I was thinking the other day when Monero block will increase for the first time. Moneropedia https://web.getmonero.org/resources/moneropedia/scalability.html says that blocks <= 60kB are always free of any block reward penalties.   So when i divided how much blockchain grew in March with number of transaction I got that in 60kb blocks you would put 660 transactions. Right now average is around 450.  So number of transactions needs to increase 50%. What with the current pace of growth can happen really fast. But if the next upgrade will reduce transactions size that will delay this event.

Big day tomorrow

Two of the major Bitcoin podcasts in the scene have been talking about chain analysis, privacy, etc.

None has mentioned Monero, but it's obviously the elephant in the room.

He did it again. Just this time he did not just said privacy by default, but he directly named Monero.

It makes very little sense why Monero is not listed on Coinbase.

What if he is afraid that to much transactions would be made from Coinbase. So Coinbase could record those transactions and when USA government would demand the list they would have to give it to them. That list could help unmask other transactions. Maybe that is a reason for a delay and he hopes that number of Monero transactions will grow and he hopes that Monero will increase ring sizes and then he will list Monero, since it will matter much less or none.

I know this is more wishful thinking that everyone cares about Monero well being. But it just crossed my mind when he first mention privacy by default.

Apparently that is just the example transaction for bitpay. I'm accepting Monero if you want to just give me $10 worth of XMR I'll purchase with cc and send you receipt and "ticket".

Thanks for the offer, I'll consider it. Smiley

No it costs $10 per "ticket", and the money gets donated to the independent theaters.

I don't get this guy.  He also talks about the advent of "Non custodial wallets".

Like I have been using since 2011.

I think he did not meant the advent but the widespread adoption. The sad fact is among most crypto users,,, many of them are sticking to custodial wallets. Retail users are afraid of losing their passwords, and big investors do not care about owning Bitcoin, just owning an account that says they have invested in bitcoin,,,

I like the transaction chart.

Me too, but let's face it, Monero is only recovering now (even compared to Bitcoin) and we are quite far from where it could (should) be (.02BTC-.03BTC, heh..)
Of course, one can hope we'll get there too again.

OK then as promised some chart action.

I have started to learn some stuff about charts so lets see what evolves as I learn more.

Here is the daily candles for XMR - With some resistance and some support zones coloured in yellow.

The daily candle has to close before you can see if a resistance or support is breached.
