Like i said earlier, let's wait for the weekend, if this stepping down continues in the same manner, we will reach 0,017 by saturday, think about it...

You are pathetic. I don't mind negative price speculation but the way you do it is disgusting. You are trying to scare off investors with your projections and empty comments. It's obvious that you sold your coins waaay too early (I think below 008) and now you are desperate to get back in. The funniest part is that you think your words here actually have an effect. Monero has grown enough to not give a fuck about what gets said in this thread anymore. So just give up your futile attempts to fud down the price. Before each leg up in price you have screamed that dumps are coming. It's just not gonna work man, give it up.

I find the ignore button is very effective for our resident bear from the low countries

Well since the last ATH we lost somewhat 25%, so this is not as disgusting as you prefer to say.
I feel admired by your compliment, but i do not think that i am able to "scare" some investors/traders at this volumes seen on polo  Cheesy Grin
Yes i screamed, because the rise was way too fast and the risk of getting blown away by a dump present and risky.
Like i said earlier, let's wait for the weekend, if this stepping down continues in the same manner, we will reach 0,017 by saturday, think about it...

You can just as well interpret that chart comparison as the current bulltrend just getting started, because you are comparing a 60 day timeframe with a 15 day..  Roll Eyes

Back then there was no use for monero and volume was 10-15 times lower. Different players and fundamentals now.

That's why the fall will be harder.
Like i stated earlier, the last pump had 10 times more volume as the pump before that. People had the same arguments as you now.
I also like seeing Monero rise 10 times in volume every time it pumps up, but history shows that it will fall down to its "natural" level every time after the pump.
I don't know how long you are around with Monero, but history is almost never wrong...

Landies and Gents, please be careful with your XMR!
IF this pump follows the same shematics as the last one, i would sell my XMR now and buy back in way lower.
Just look at the similarities from the last pump, only the timeframe and volume from this august-september pump is more intense.

After monero was added to alphabay and oasis, it's utility has become miles ahead of litecoin yet its marketcap is below it. Still long term bullish.

One question: What is the maximum amount of XMR one should safely hold in a mymonero web wallet? I have most of my holdings in there and now they're worth a reasonable amount, I'm getting a little sketched out. Transfer to paper wallet maybe?

Whatever you need for routine spending IMO. No web wallet can be 100% secure.

Best is to transfer to your own paper wallet or (if you need spending access) a conventional wallet on your own well-secured computer/media.

Thanks, sorry forgot to mention you in my big ups! Very much appreciate your posts and guides. Follow up question, for a 'conventional wallet" would I need to download the whole blockchain to sync the wallet (I am using 4g mobile internet atm so that wouldn't be possible atm, I would have to create paper wallet if that is the case).

With the advent of Monero actually being used by people, my estimatological calcumations predict that approximately 40% of new users either won't want to use a full node, won't have the patience to synchronize, etc.

Over the past, I dunno, 6 months I've put together node.moneroworld.com, which is a collection of open nodes that anyone can use to synchronize their wallets and push transactions to the monero network. All you do is start simplewallet with:

Code:
simplewallet.exe --daemon-host node.moneroworld.com

The support at 0.019 is crazy strong... the price looks like it's repeatedly trying to ram past ATH. Got back in at 0.0206 against my own judgement (fomo?)... lets see what happens
There seems to be more sell support than buy at the moment - but I'm sure that wont last.

its going to be tough to put it back at 0.026. things looks messy at the moment. the 50k xmr whale got pissed everybody was taking a chunk of his show off balance, he crashed the price.

also i believe he was taking loans. everytime he comes showing off, the loan section is busy.

but still, even at 0.020 seems little support. and after each dump support becomes less

Really the only universal currency for the universe is energy....

I would postulate time.

Time:energy and position:momentum are the classic quantum informative pairs.

I would describe information as the underlying universal value.  God acts to maximize freedom.  So should we.

I would agree if the information was limitless as it would therefor make any other factor moot, but if not I'll take time any day! Tongue

AFA price, SSDD. We're seeing the same thing we've seen for years only on a much larger scale. Gonna be another shakeout and moon. Really hate myself for being out at the wrong time. But at least I'm man enough to admit it. Smiley

Enjoy the ride and don't get squeezed out guys.

This could also be a midweek slump similar to the one we saw a week ago. Given the seemingly cyclical and repetitive nature of this bull run, we might be going sideways/down til Friday, then back up.
Or not.

That's my read of the situation too.

I hope so anyway, I want back in after selling too early!

Looks to me like there is a better chance for XMR to take a breather here than anywhere so far.  However in the face of extreme fundamentals it is a little hard to say how much that equals.  The fundamental situation is SO strong.

But from several technical angles I would not be surprised to see a pullback soon.

1.  From an Elliot wave perspective we could be seeing the A impulse starting.
2.  We have just started seeing lower lows and lower highs.
3.  It's a little frankenstinian but this looks little like a H&S over the last 32hrs or so.

That said even with all the big selling there seems to be steady buying pressure.  If we can make it from here to a decisive area >.025 then all that stuff is out the window.

Disclosure: I am long and holding my core Monero, but my swing trading bankroll is all BTC at the moment.

Whatever you need for routine spending IMO. No web wallet can be 100% secure.

Best is to transfer to your own paper wallet or (if you need spending access) a conventional wallet on your own well-secured computer/media.

For paper wallets, you can follow this guide:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/48cgmd/an_extensive_guide_for_securely_generating_an/

Btw, the dump seems to be induced by some shorters (possibly the bear whale). See lending offers here:

http://monerodice.pd.to/polo.php

http://monerodice.pd.to/polo_snapshot_compare.php?id=442946&id2=442966

You can be certain that some of the bids that were dumped into were shorts trying to cover. Thus, the amount shorted might even be bigger than depicted by the lending offers statistics.

Thanks for the info dEB, will be investigating your links regarding paper wallet.

And regarding the recent dump, I just threw my last 0.5 BTC (of trading allowance) into my first ever margin long at 0.02 - lets see how it pans out!
