Mr. shortypants is gointa be in a world of hurt.  I mean, that 160 btc sell wall at 016 absolutely reeked of desperation.  It's just crazy stupid to try to front-run "sell the news" 3 days too soon.  The punters haven't had a chance to buy the rumor yet.

or am i just looking at this thing on a too short time-frame.

This.  And look forwards as well as backwards.

As has been quoted here a lot recently, in 2011 BTC had its first break out and many of the early adopters cashed out "we'll never see prices as high as $32" they said, especially after it went back down to $5.

The reason Risto esp mentions this a lot is because the circumstances for XMR are both similar and better than those in 2011; that's why most of the old lags here are not selling.

Check out the registration date on my profile. I watched it all. Sitting patiently. Smiley

WoW!!  I imagine you have some wallets that bring tears to the eye.

And bravo on still being here and still helping people.

Na. I was an idiot. I watched and learned. Not making those mistakes again.

They dumped all the way down to 0.013. Who would do that? And why? They could have sold for a much better price if they didnt do a massive market order dump. Huh

Malice and/or incompetence.

Malice, in that Dash/Shadowcash trolling is successfully goading Monero haters into acting irrationally.  (If your enemy is quick to anger, provoke him.)

Incompetence, in that somebody's shorts were/are way underwater and they needed a spectacular drop to get out alive.

Funny thing is people still want to short this epic rally.  My loans are almost always taken seconds after being offered at competitive rates.

5k BTC buy gets us to 0.03 XMR.  See ya'll on the mooon!   Cool

I woke up and it's still at a 0.015 level  Shocked Was sure a dump would follow.  Now i'm wondering if i should start buying back moneros even the levels are this high.

Is this just a market frenzy or is there something behind that really back this level to be the "new normal"?

Rpietila/Wise Ones do you still concider 0.01 level to be a realistic dump level? Or is the dump that low anymore possible. Monero has broken pretty much every scenario that i know or am i just looking at this thing on a too short time-frame.

The dump already happened. ~0.013 was the low. Will it dump again who can know. But if you were looking for a dump it came and went.

The 160btc sell wall at 016 is clear evidence of a big short protecting himself.  There's just no other reason to overwhelm a rising tide with a totem of fear.

That is bullish, of course, for the long-run (which is pretty darn short in this environment), since he has to cover, in competition with longs.  If he gets squeezed, and I think he will, it will almost certainly be a new ATH, and might be the top for a few weeks.

It doesn't make much sense to me that the Sept. 1 AB event would get sold a full 2 days ahead.  The ramp really should continue up until Tuesday night.  If the buyers keep pressuring the short, and the ask book is thin enough so that he can't cover, and he hangs on hopefully until Tuesday, we might surpass LTC mcap for a while during a squeeze.  Otherwise, I would be surprised (again) to do so.

XMR is being discussed in a lot of underground forums, plenty of them on clearnet but not indexed by google of course (don't ask). These type of places are profit takers mostly when it comes to altcoins and very knowledgeable in cryptos.  This time at least they sound like they are treating XMR differently and some of them have started providing services with XMR as a payment option besides BTC when there was no option besides BTC in the past. Techie forums of the bad kind so no GUI seems to have zero impact in these places.

The poloniex order book screen on the mobile website apparently lags.
It shows bids higher than asks.
I'm using Chrome browser on an android tablet.
Refreshing brings the order book up to date.

Pattern hasn't really broken yet.  If it continues, we'll see a new ATH in about 12 hours.
I believe that... it's only about 2400 btc to get to .02 and if you're doing 110K in one day, I think that's very possible.

Bought some at  137.  Let's see how bad my hands will bleed. 😁

I managed to sell some that I had on margin for 186 and buy some back again for 133 and 142!  Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good I guess!

Currently not sure I was lucky. I put the bids in today but did not expect to fill them so violently.  Anyone have a bandaid?

Yeah, I'm feeling a bit of Whiplash from that one!  It happened really quickly... I'm not sure whoever did that had to dump so deep at market to sell his bag, I think he left a bunch on the table there.

There´s like 60 to 120k shorts that have to cover. This is rebounding fast
