This Azure exposure has created a real opportunity... I'd be interested to hear what kind of things people think could be done easily with monero blockchain as a service on Azure?

For sure it is great news but as you said What kind of things can be done? And it is with the Monero blockchain? Can someone explain this?

Thx in advance,
Its about sharing

This could be the start of an epic year. Monero in 2016 may be what bitcoin was in 2013.

I certainly hope so.  The Azure news is really good for Monero for sure.

Yep, it adds legitimacy.  People cant say Monero is just about dark net or drugs.

I like Monero and have some but I have to say that just about everyone is partnering with Microsoft's Azure now.  Add VCASH, Syscoin, Bitshares, and others to this list.  Each time these announcements were made the price of the coin followed.  Maybe there is something different with Monero, fun to watch anyway.

Some people might have been margin called (or voluntarily took the losses).
I put those coins to the markets for 2.00 % per day.

Not sure how to feel about the Azure integration.
I mean it's news and will most likely increase adoption.
Let's see how the price will react to that.

If you have access to a stable currency, equities, bonds, etc - then sure, using Monero as a savings account seems less than ideal due to the volatility. However, compared with unstable currencies in places like Somalia, Iraq, Zimbabwe, North Korea, Venezuela, etc - it's not a crazy idea to think that Monero or other cryptocoins could be a better store of value. The biggest issue is getting in and out of Monero since most of that is conducted through BTC and if you already have that, one could argue that you have a more stable saving account right there.
Does "stable" mean stable price?
I haven't done the numbers, but Monero's exchange rate (in dollars) might be no more volatile than bitcoin's, from the look of things.
There's no fiat market to speak of for Monero, which is a problem.

Is there a way to rent mining rigs?

Nope. If your goal is to acquire coins you should just buy on an exchange. If your goal is to support the network you should just solo mine with whatever hardware you can.

I disagree that Monero is not useful. I store my savings in it. I use it to buy goods using XMR.to. I play games with it at Crypto Kingdom.  Maybe next I'll work out a deal to pay my rent with it. Most importantly I use it to keep as much of my hard earned money out of those grubby banks.

I agree with part of that. For someone who isn't an aggressive speculator, "storing savings" in it is a bit much. Nothing wrong with being a speculator, but it isn't for everyone.

Where can I find the upcoming Monero's features/releases/ and ETAs? also, any idea if Monero is planning to list or create a decentralized exchange? cheers

No specific timeline/ETA and don't necessarily have to be completed in that specific order.
