This coin. It just goes sideways.
Until you look away one day. Then it goes to 0.03 Roll Eyes

The thing about Monero is... it is one of the only coins that actually does something bitcoin doesn't.  At least something big and fundamental.  Everything is obscured on layer one, AND cryptographically verifiable.  That is worth a little something.  Sometimes 01x... sometimes .03.  Eventually something like .1

Yup.  The Alphabay pump is still fresh in my mind.  But really it was insiders exactly knowing when the announcement would be.  I wonder who from the Monero side knew...  Wink

With https://old.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/c0l7tj/cli_v01410_has_been_tagged/   pruned nodes will be 30 GB big.  Trezor hardware wallets will be easily supported so as Ledger nano X.

And over $1.4m volume on Bisq https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/bisq/

A shitload of altcoins have tried to find an ASIC-resistant hashing algorithm, to no avail.

Why this time should it be different?

Monero is taking a novel approach with the idea of RandomX.  I believe the plan is if this is not successful as countermeasures that we give up and just go SHA-3 or something.

No, that’s not the plan.

If RandomX fails, we assess the situation and make a decision how to move forward.

None of this “pre-commitment” nonsense. If we claim to be at all decentralized that is.

If all else fails, what is wrong with merge mining?

you help please,

does it means that we can mine monero with ASIC miners?
I used to mine with GPU's until last year, and i have some asic waiting.
Or can someone please inform what changed or will change with simple words.

thanks

The Monero dev team is trying to make it difficult to build a working ASIC for Monero.  They want Monero to be mined with CPUs. This is meant to avoid mining centralization.

Thanks so much for the simple explaination...
So this means that CPUs will be better from GPUs ? And will be available to more users of course yes?

You will be able to mine Monero with GPU and CPU.   Whenever mining algo changed in past each mining device got a bit different hashes as before. So it will happen again. Best is just test and see. There is still plenty of time until Sepetember.

A shitload of altcoins have tried to find an ASIC-resistant hashing algorithm
can you name two or three such coins, besides Monori?

Ethereum failed at it.   Monero is at the edge of the technology. So unbelievable things happens.

Litecoin, myraidcoin off the top of my head, greoshcoin(sp) Darkcoin...

Long list, Tromp originally started Cookoo to be asic resistant.

Repost what it was.

I think I said something like:

"Look at them bollinger bands, yo!"

They were starting to look like chopsticks going after a gain of rice.  And now we are seeing a move...  So yeah... quality TA?  Not so much, but at least relevant.

But BTC dominates and it's making the XMR/BTC drop a little as people fomo into the rising Bitcoin price.

The question here is ifquality ALTs die on the vine, or if they follow in LTC's footsteps and the bluechip alts actually catch some wind here...  If not that was a headfake and the bollinger bands tightening is resolving in that big move down.

ROTFLMFAO! Yeah I remember seeing that and was just too lazy to look at a chart. Smiley

I also have no clue whats going to happen and am going to steal Gingers "Banana's" for my forecasts. Smiley
