I'm slowly buying to get to a daily emissions worth. Feels like forever.

EDIT: One should also read the whole conversation, it is an interesting one.

He is too young and not an economist by any standard. He can say anything that makes him important

Congratulations to the Monero Team on your successful Hydroden Helix release. I primarily believe in bitcoin and strongly believe most altcoins are doomed for failure. Monero has good chances to be an important exception.

Monero scales to 0 block size  Shocked

It is dangerous when you hand chess masters the keys to software design.

EDIT: One should also read the whole conversation, it is an interesting one.

It is a fundamental issue that Monero has solved while Bitcoin and the Bitcoin clones have not. I recently responded to TPTB_need_war on this issue. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.13842824.

My view on it is that it does solve a major issue in Bitcoin (as PT agrees) but it doesn't necessarily solve every potential issue with blockchains (as TPTB agrees).

However, my view is also that in the real world when you engineer working systems you can rarely if ever reach absolute perfection. You have to reduce major failings to a minimum and hope that the market then finds it a useful solution to some problem. For example, driverless cars will probably be safer than human-driven cars, but people will still be killed in them.

Monero's design is evolved from Bitcoin and addresses serious problems with it (this is explicitly stated in the whitepaper), while still sharing similar goals, unlike Ethereum and others. At least with respect to the original Bitcoin goals; transparency may be somewhat more of a goal of Bitcoin now that it has become joined more closely with finance and regulation than end users.

Update from Shen Noether regarding Ring CT implementation for Monero. I have to admit I spotted this one a bit late:

You have idle servers mining a currency that you publicly claim is worthless (and possibly by that claim, lower what it is worth), so you can buy less of a currency you desire--and I'm the idiot  Grin

I hope I piss off a bag-holder whale who then pumps this shit to 0.004 so i can exit. Worked before...

And your plan is to tell them that's your plan?

It has to happen, XMR is dead, they better do it now than later when it drops to 0.0005...

And you aren't using your claimed resources to short XMR? Because what? Too easy? You'd rather bash the coin in hopes that some random whale buys into your reverse psychology (that you just put-up for everyone to see) and pumps the price so you can sell--while supporting the network with your "free" hashrate?

Guessing you never heard of K.I.S.S.  Kiss

So there aren't any more profitable coins to mine with your stolen* hash rate?

Nope, not with CPU power alone..

So you're stealing it?

You are an idiot.

I'm not the one posting that he steals hash rate from his company on a public forum. Especially when he posted a picture months age of "his" high rise office.

My company you idiot and no it doesn't cost anything over what it would cost if servers were idle.

And mine them like Primer, because that's a profit getter. Roll Eyes

It's like doubling down on stupid. First, let me mine a coin that's unprofitable to mine, and then, let's pronounce its end in an attempt to drive the price down further  Huh

My guess is TrueCryptonaire Primer is trying to buy back what he sold.  Wink

Ha, I wouldn't spend a single Finney on a shitcoin like XMR... oh and company resources I use for mining are absolutely free. Sugon cluster 250KH/s - 300KH/s depending on the que..

*I say stolen because if you own the company, then you are paying for it, and if you don't own the company you are stealing it. Even in the unlikely scenario that a government subsidy was paying for your electricity costs, you'd still be stealing from tax payers who must foot the bill.
