Any major negative political decision can have only a short-term negative impact on price; nothing more. Monero has gone too far (capable dev team, devoted community, real-world use, tradition) to be stopped by greedy, incompetent bureaucrats...
What can they actually do - ban it from EU based exchanges.? And there are decentralized exchanges on the horizon... Smiley

As it is speculation thread - what do you think will happen to Monero XMR and its price when Monero as anonymous cryptocurrency will be banned by government (which is quite possible at least in European Union - in the light of the new  European Commission  AML directive..)

I'm betting Monero will outlive the "European Commission"

Which idiots are talking about this monero classic scam coin on the XMR thread Cheesy Go ahead and give away your private keys onto their 'official wallets' and see what happens. Just stick to the real monero, 1 XMR is worth more than a million scammy fork coins

Hey Guys , I have Monero on a ledger and I would like to claim Monero classic as well but don’t know how. I don’t want to sell the xmc but I would like to have them in a wallet. Can someone explain how to do that?

PM me your private keys and I'll get right on that for you.

In order to claim these coins, you would have to convert your Ledger 24 word mnemonic seed into a standard 25 word Monero seed and subsequently import it into a Monero Classic wallet. Probably not worth the incurred risks.

I am not sure if it was possible to have Monero on Ledger hard wallet when we upgraded protocol and old chain turned into XMC. You would most likely need private keys or seed of the wallet where you hold your Monero before.  I also dont understand why you want to risk your coins by giving someone your private key if you dont plan to sell them. They are and will forever be on a wallet where you had your Monero before that fork.  I sugest you to not do anything before you plan to sell them.

Ok got iT. I do nothing until I’m selling, and that won’t be anytime soon Smiley

It's nice to see $60 again, some decent price action here.

Giddy up.

Just curious...  Do you look at XMR's USD value or its BTC value?  I think using the BTC value is much better cos if BTC performs better than XMR or any other alt then it would be better to hold BTC wouldn't it.

XMR/BTC ratio is close to bottom. So is XMR/USD. Sooner or latter we will see Monero at 0.035 BTC and beyond. And that will be real moon. I mean the real breakout. Without that is just Bitcoins cycle that will push Monero USD price up in next 3 years.

I care of both prices. Considering last 2 years it dont really matter much for me what to hold. I could only Bitcoin or only Monero and would be pretty similar at end. But sooner or latter that will change. And No one will know in advance when. And once that will happen will be to late to buy Monero.

It would be better to hold BTC in such circumstances. But I still prefer XMR. Might be wrong bet, but I value XMR more than BTC.

Aaand dumpage, didn't see that coming so soon. Smiley

Well after 3 days in one direction has to correct. This is not 2017, but 2018 is definitely over.

So far it's a healthy pullback. This is just a taste of where we're going over the next 18-24 months.
