This deserves a crosspost:

know your address everywhere, everytime

xmr.link is an OpenAlias service implementation to work specificly with Monero.

With this service you can easly convert your monero address to any avaliable and short name of your choose instead of remembering an 95 char long key.
(You will remember it, and most important, the ones who want/need to send you money will remember it!)

Advantages of using xmr.link:
  • Know everywhere, everytime your address
  • Already working with last simplewallet and mymonero
  • DNSSEC avaliable
  • 6 different domains that you can choose
  • Easy to use
  • Use your moneroj

This service is still under development, some minor bugs can be expected.

Future implementations needed:
  • More information on the page (know how to use)
  • DNSSEC in all domains (currently only avaliable on xmr.rocks)
  • QR Codes avaliable to use on forums, websites, ect..
  • Public API that allows to register your name remotely and annonymus based only on payment_id (should be usefull to implement on gui wallets)

i am fine with a healthy rise but i am not fine with artificial pumps.
the people i am talking to know i talk to them, no need to explain this further here.

im a big supporter, but if i feel there is too much manipulation and you might just drop this like a hot potato once done i am willing to cut ties and leave you and your homies all burning in flames.

dont let the game corrupt you, i expected something else from you, fck the money

I think the only thing which is artificial with Monero is its low price.
Marketcap is only a few millions.
There are large sell walls scaring people from buying before the accumulators. The sell walls are there so that the shaky hands would dump to the manipulators.
If Bitcoinexpress would not have made the false threath on us the price could be now at the same range as DRK is currently.

Obviously this thread is also speculation. The pumping and dumping is also part of speculation as well as fake walls.
If you think the price is too manipulated and should be different, then by no means act the opposite as the manipulators do and take the money from the table.

But understand those tactics you speak of (e.g. sell walls) are a part of the plan that Risto has mentioned repeatedly. They want to create some as-semblance of reduced volatility AND allow for accumulation for clients (as has been mentioned). If I wanted to buy XMR in semi bulk, say 1000 here and there, I would see those sell walls as a huge opportunity. When you look at the order book it isn't exactly running away from anyone, except the largest buyers.

So, what we have here (if not hidden manipulation) is truly what Risto said. Also, perhaps you are right then, the artificial thing is Monero's low price. Sort of the opposite problem BTC had, perhaps, via that bot on Gox. We have live bots here and use them to your advantage.  Wink

Yup.
And if you are a whale and you get dumped into, what is the only rational solution to do? Answear: pump the price even higher so that the dumper feels pressure to buy back higher - not lower.

I was going through this thread comparing XMR to Dark that was given to me here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.10825310 and remember seeing that instamine mentioned. I can't believe that is not talked about more. I'm glad your brought up the drastic volume differences with DRK. To me this is a more worrisome problem than almost anything else (if true).

Somethings got to give...

And getting trolled. No once can counter what he has said with respect to mathematical proof so they resort to attacking the messenger. Typical shill tactic.

Fluffypony made a mistake about the instamine. It wasn't 8 days it was more like 8 hours. Specifically, 1.5m coins in the first 5 hours and 15 minutes. During much of that time the code was broken. It's really absurd how scammy the launch was, not just the instamine itself but the events surrounding it. I'm sorry but when I put these facts together I see a strong circumstantial case that it wasn't an accident. Everything about it lines up just right to put millions of coins into someone's pocket and exclude others.

More info and numbers can be found here as well ->  http://devtome.com./doku.php?id=a_massive_investigation_of_instamines_and_fastmines_for_the_top_alt_coins#darkcoin

That page is very well known but unfortunately it doesn't really get into the events of that day, just the actual blocks mined on the chain. Those events, however, tell volumes about what happened and why. It's much worse even than the impression given there (which is not positive certainly).

Also, to this day the darkcoin FAQ claims that the instamine happened over "48 hours." In fact over 1.5 million coins were mined in just 6 hours, which was during a time period that Evan had promised not to even launch the coin at all.

I hope Monero will establish strong like a rock of ages, support to 0.0032 when it breaks it.
All the weak hand dumpers need to be bailed out now at last so that we are good to go on from here to new heights.

If you want to be strong, don't buy more than you can afford to lose, otherwise you are picking too heavy weights and might feel lassitude.
Take only the weights you know for sure you can lift up and pump it.  Grin

Paints a nice picture

Yeah, like a huge wave about to break. I remember in the BTC glory days how we often saw that just before huge moves (not always mind you.)
XMR is so much easier to manipulate, but it is a good sign none the less.

It's probably the most talked about topic on the whole bitcointalk's altcoin section.

My bad lol, for not reading that forum!
I was really referring to the constant popping up of Dash's name here with almost zero mention of the insta-mine. (I read through everything and then some in that link and saw it mentioned in 1 thread explicitly, that I remember anyway.)

They should have asked them about that on the podcast interviews as well.

Over 300k again.  Cool

But there is a wall at 0.0031... And it looks legit, too.
I hope the rally will not stop there.

I didn't want to withhold this from you guys, it is pretty hilarious in fact -> http://pastebin.com/pPNf8y6L

Might have, next to the awareness Peter Todd raised, sparkled some of the rally.

Cheesy I would have snapped it up too if I had been there at that time. That is hilarious.

A fool and his money...  Cheesy
