Whats the point?

He's not the FBI so he can't write an Email to Amazon, DO and whatever masternode hoster and force them to give them access to the servers.
Nor does he have money to waste for such stuff; your arguments are simply invalid as you can't compare a forum user here to a powerful attacker.

On the other hand, you might as well ask DRK guys to trace a Darkwallet transaction and question them if BTC isn't enough....

PS: If you are really interested in the cn ringsignatures stuff you might read for example this from gmaxwell: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7765455 - i am still not sure if you are just trolling and provoking or...whatever.

Is BTC not enough? Darkwallet transactions will suffice until a mergmined cryptonote sidechain with superior liquidity replaces it. Why must there be an altcoin to provide privacy? Merely to make you rich?

the question you should ask is about the elasticity of the utility curve of privacy - I have assumptions regarding that and that is why I think monero is the big thing

edit: even if he is trolling, his questions are valid - we do not know if bitcoins privacy is enough, neither do we know if darkcoins privacy is enough, it is about the utility of privacy.

I agree with othe it is time to end this discussion here.

The main issue is that you, jehst, are clearly anti-Monero trolling with the various shifting claims (and adding nothing new that hasn't been said 100 times) from challenging Monero supporters to decode Darkcoin transactions to Dark Wallet and now sidechains.

Please take it elsewhere. There is a general Monero discussion thread and various free-for-all threads where trolling, even though still pathological, is at least arguably on topic. On this thread about price speculation and trading, it is not.

I think we should end the discussion here, as you already said, all you do is wait for others to do the work  - then wait till sidechains will come out - if ever; we already had nice inventions like Stealthaddresses who never made it into the main client.
I give u a tip, privacy can't be archived if its not standard; if not every user uses it by default its simply bad.

If only 0.5 % of BTC users use your fancy sidechain its totally pointless as it doesnt have a sufficient anonymity set.
Darkwallet is the same problem, no normal people use it so far.

Why an Altcoin? I don't know prolly because the Ringsig stuff can't be integrated into the main Bitcoin chain without a lot of trouble technically and politically? Maybe because we have no sidechains so far? And even if we did it would have a shitton of drawbacks to a native protocol?

And why should i get rich here? All i do is spend time and money because its an interesting technology, but people like you prolly won't get that.

If you guys want Monero to be the #1 anonymous currency and you truly believe that Darkcoin is too centralized, then I suggest you attempt to show that Darkcoin transactions are traceable.
A look at the masternode list and in particular the distrubtion of hosting providers should be enough for everybody to see it right away.

No, I mean that you should unveil someone's transaction and show the world how easy it is to compromise the system. Buy some masternodes and bringen Sie die Wahrheit ans Licht.

That's like saying "if you think Galileo was so clever, why don't you go up to the moon with a feather and a hammer and prove it."

I'm sure that somebody will one day, but it's un-necessary. Everyone knew what was going to happen on the moon before it even happened, simply because the theory was sound.

Same thing applies.

Darkcoin is not an anonymous currency. Period.

Now please let's stick to the topic of the thread.

plus it's a f***** currency.

i don't think people get this - i don't think any of us can.  but for currency to take off we have to be insanely careful how funds are raised / spent.  running an open source curerncy like a business ... you get bobsurplus, prom3theus and blocknet

that might be bad. amirite?

well decide for urself.  I had bobsurplus telling me he was a moral daisy the other day.  and of course prome3thus doesn't even know what the term honest means and thinks it's probably just an extra word in the dictionary.
