But now that bitcoin is doing it's best resurrection act and alts are shrinking... what do you guys see for the future price action of our beloved coin?

XMR looks to be on track to do what it always does. Fireworks on March 20th. $1500.

I doubted you last time and regretted it. But...$1500...within four weeks? That would be truly astonishing.

I really love monero ever since I read about and used. Its purpose is completely clear and pretty much needed. So bulls will always keep monero in top 10 list, nothing can really replace it as anon coin. (Competition is fine but monero is prolly better)

In regards to the moneroV scam, if I do nothing to claim my moneroV from my web wallet, will my privacy for monero be effected? Thank you.

Your privacy is affected just by using a web wallet.

Sorry to snap us back to topic. Wink

I hate watching the XMRUSD just hold, or slowly drop under these circumstances...  What normally happens?   Do we see a springboard after the BTC rise?  Why can't I remember.  It's not like I haven't been through this 1000 times.

I have no clue, was waiting forever to get back some @ .0272 finally said fuk it and bought at .02815 and look what that did. Lol

Nice trade Sir. Wink

This is why I hold tight.

The moment I start to worry I get whiplash.

    • There seems to be something like sector rotations in crypto. Different "sectors" we've seen pumped include DApp platforms (ETH, NEO, ADA), "cheap" coins (XRP, XLM, TRON), tangle-based coins (IOTA, byteball), etc. At some point this year, it seems fairly likely that we'll see a rotation into privacy coins.
    exactly my thoughts!

    Anyone remember this  Grin

Actually no, link to the post?

guys do you hear about pinkdate?
They're making an anonymous escorting platform and using Monero to pay out dividends to coin holders (pinkdate.is)

look like interesting project with monero.

Yeah, it was posted with the App shots. Sex sells.

After attempting to sync it on my laptop I decided it is time to put linux on it. Couldn't be happier with my decision...
My laptop just crashed as I was reading this post, kind of ironic don't you think? (still using windows 10)

I've been on and off trying to duel boot Debian with Windows, but every time I've tried it ends up in some sort of error or the installation freezes. I've installed it on computers and VMs before, so I'm beginning to think it's a hardware issue; especially since no other distros are having better luck on it either.

M$ does not play well with others. I have to keep win 7 just so I can play some games that I refuse to lose. They still have their claws in me. Smiley

The Monero blockchain is becoming very large, i wonder how big it will become in around 5 years time when Monero has mass adoption on the darkweb. Hardware wallets cant come soon enough either and will drive the price of XMR up high Smiley

    One word, bulletproofs.

Is there something I actually have to do to claim them?
No. The MoneroVs(?) will always be on the private key that your Moneroj is on at the time that the fork happens.

If I simply “do nothing” and pretend like it didn’t happen will I be good?
You will retain both your privacy and your MoneroVs.

On bittrex right now there are bids for more xmr than currently exist.  At a guess, between the major exchanges, there are probably lit bids for at least 4x the current supply.  You could turn all of the monero over into new hands in a fraction of a second without moving the price more than 50%.

The liquidity situation is extremely good.  If you want to dump your Monero with little slippage, this is not a bad time to do it.  Well, except that it is always a bad time to sell an undervalued asset. But if Vinnie the Gooch is collecting that bet you made, or the tax man is putting a lien on your house, yeah, dump now.

I have remained disinclined to sell any Monero as I have for years.  Well let me put that another way...  there are times I am highly tempted to sell, but I end up choosing to sit tight.

Luckily for me neither Vinnie or the tax man are after me.  And when I do sell crypto I will pay my damn taxes.  I prefer life on this side of bars. Wink.

I'm just curious where people think these very interesting times are taking us.  I never have a clue. Smiley

I think this could be a big year for Monero. Here are some semi-random thoughts:
    • Darknet market users are slowly wising up.
    • Lots of crypto-newcomers are getting shocked now that it's tax filing time. They'll realize that Monero could be used to abrogate some of their tax liability for crypto trading going forward.
    • When bitcoin reaches new ATHs, crypto fever will recommence. Even moreso if we get an ETF.

I use a Chromebook with galliumos, which is a distro based on xubuntu made especially for Chromebooks.  And I replaced the 32 Gig ssd with a 128 Gig ssd.  No dual booting, just linux.  I've had dual boot machines in the past but for my cheap, efficient little acer c720p Chromebook it's linux all the way and cli monero daemon and wallet that run like a dream.

ah peppy....that describes me except i went for the 256GB ssd. Nice and easy. Bought another 720p for spares.

If you can estimate the adoption rate then it would simply be the point in time at which adoption and emission curves intersect. Pretty sure Rpitila has all the numbers to do this if he hasn't done so already....
    OK fuck off already.

I think that the developers will solve this problem. The coin is very popular, but it needs to be constantly improved so that users do not switch to other similar coins. Now Monero occupies a leading position among private coins.

No worries, hardware developers are doing their thing  Wink

I do not come to make a negative estimate for the price of Monero. Because I think a really strong project will come at Monero and much higher prices.

Perhaps marginally if enough other people make claims but much much less than if you claim yours.

Is there something I actually have to do to claim them? If I simply “do nothing” and pretend like it didn’t happen will I be good?
