It's a little dizzying to see the xmr/btc price get so ravaged as the USD value creeps back up towards 300.

I think there is wisdom in that old scripture that there is nothing new under the sun.  However, there are things that are only seen by one generation out of 100.

Bitcoin, and it's legitimate children are not a black swan.  Hell, there are black swans everywhere.  The Crypto Swan is fire engine red.

I think you might be onto something.

There are now well-known musicians like Mariah Carey, Marilyn Manson, Slayer, Sia, Motorhead and more than 40 other top artists which are accepting the privacy-oriented cryptocurrency monero in their onlineshops. By some onlineshops there will be automatically a discount up to 15 % by paying with Monero. The project called Coral Reef for e-commerce.

Wallace’s black swan operation may have been turned against the CIA; a Red Swan is flying and the question is: who is she, what is her target, and where will she land?

It looks like price is settling around 0.0214 btc... Volume is dropping a little as well ( on poloniex ). Does this mean the run up is over  ( for now ) ?

I rather hope it is a long stable rise, XMR is one of my favourite coins and have huge potential.

More and more investors notice it.

I really couldn't understand the reason behind monero's success. I was targeting $200 for monero and I already sold my holdings before we get there and after all, it reached and passed $300. This is big.
Same here, I sold just before $200 to buy back in the dip I expected, but then it shot straight on to $300.. Angry

You should monitor more. This project took $1 million if i am not mistaken. Everyone was expecting it before Christmas. and sort for Globee was sponsor of some meeting tomorrow and on their Twitter they announced they have a big news. so all that monitored Monero should know.

On general we see that development itself dont drive price up. But I guess helps it stay up. What drives price up are wider adoption and marketing. What Bithumb did and now Project Coral Reef.    My point is that those that expect that price of Monero will go x3 because of HW and multisig might be disappointed. But we all know that that is more important then Project Coral Reef or listing on Bithumb.

We had $650 millions of volume what is way more then in past but. I am sure in BTC is not that much more then old biggest volumes. We need to understand that BTC is now almost 20 times more then a year ago.  and at least on Poloniex price was hitting 0.0225 but just could not break over it.

Interesting and I agree,

May I ask you're ballpark guess on XMR price this time next year in BTC terms and USD terms?

Obviously not asking for prediction of future, just interested in your guess, given your interesting sentiment.

Big majority right now predict that people that are entering now with loans will lose their houses. I most recently started thinking that this increased interest in Crypto will not end till we get to some normal price and there will not be long months or even years of bear trends as they were in past. Whenever price retrace, there is so much money waiting to enter and just dont let price to go -50% as it happened in past.

Monero will ofcourse fly on all this daily increased interest. In 2018 and specially in 2019. We might even see $10k Monero then.

I'm thinking when Tether crashes Polo is gonna go with them.
IDK what their expenses are, but the probably at least $200k gross daily revenues from the top 5 or so markets surely are enough to keep them solvent.
You never know. A large group of people could finally get really sick of of them and then migrate to another firm, causing most everybody else to leave soon after; and then next thing you know they could be belly up.

I better get to upping my authority level there.

I started it once but it doesn't say what ID you will need until you start it. Then after you pause and get the docs it says cant retry come back and try later.

The technology of money is not strained,
But falleth like the gentle rain,
And oft doth rise to crash again,
In market moves that stress the brain.

I never had faith in Monero so much as a reasoned case that it must eventually surpass bitcoin in market cap.  Nothing I have seen yet persuades me otherwise - quite the contrary.  But eventually it will exceed its equilibrium (of the moment) sufficiently to potentials a substantial retracement before continuing its growth.  Probably that will happen after the BTC pump dumps.  And almost certainly it will happen again, and again, and again.  One  of those times will be after every mother-in-law on the planet's starts pestering their no-goodnick son-in-law to bi y some Monero because "it only ever goes up".
