XMR is a currency that in my opinion is one of those that will always survive despite any event, the reason is simple, privacy and anonymity is something that many in the near future will seek, in addition the history of Monero is another index that is very likely to continue growing.

In most people when they go to observe the chart of any alt they see how the behavior of Bitcoin is, and Monero follows the same direction as Bitcoin, which is quite beneficial, especially for Monero hodlers.

I think that at any moment Monero will reach the 475USD that it reached in December 2017, it may come and go, apparently Monero is undervalued, it is a very good chance for those who are undecided to buy Monero.

Who remembers the traditional annual March pump?  2015, 2016 and 2017 was pump all the year anyway Tongue  Oh and looking at chart it was also 2018.

But the good news is that transactions seems to make another leg up after staying static in January and February. 16 days in a row with 20k+ transactions a day. Very soon this should be a standard.

still the leader.

^  Not much difference..  the coin you’ll be swapping for will be as secure as that coin’s amount of mining power swapped to. But if you’re just going from BTC to XMR and vice versa most of the time, it’s plenty secure.

I wonder what the liquidity is gonna be like.

Thats a good question.

It might take time to build up marketbooks? or maybe it wont?   lol

Who knows

Alts could become like some sort of sidechains.

This is what I was thinking after atomic swaps how is it different?

For those that dont check Monero reddit. Comit-network group that is one of three groups that works on Monero Bitcoin atomic swaps already have a product on testnet - stagnet. This group did not crowdfund founds with CCS.

This is a very interesting development.  And now we are getting closer to the chicken egg question of what this does to demand for Montanegro.

If users somehow start to see Montero as a complement to Bitcoin for their blockchain privacy needs, I think demand goes up.  And it’s faster and cheaper.  Who needs offchain layers if atomic swaps does the trick for us to bypass the exchanges and be able to use faster blockchains that serve our needs.  Alts could become like some sort of sidechains.

Zoomed out number of Monero transactions. This time average daily transaction per quarter. We can see that Monero transactions bull run started at start of 2019, so two years ago. First bull run was from mid 2016 to end of 2017 when also last Bitcoin price bull run ended.

I had a fun thought.  Wanted to share.

As people begin to understand what makes an NFT something interesting and fun and perhaps briefly profitable, and ultimately almost always nearly worthless...

...eventually they will begin to see why a TFT (TRULY Fungible Token) is actually worth quite a lot.

Those two forks were arguably nearly scams.  They were created (probably by large miners) during one of the scheduled hard forks Monero used to utilize primarily to break ASIC mining.  This was actually PRE RandomX.  The forks were created as  a way for the miners to continue using their ASICS on the Monero chain, and I assume the creators hoped they would be the forks that got consensus.

The scenario was very similar to BCH/BSV and some of us even considered them a bit of an attack on the network.

They lost.

Badly.

Thanks. I had no idea about that background!

Those two are basically an old version of Monero right before RandomX was implemented IIRC. So ASICS can mine them and if my memory server me correctly - they were largely supported by these ASICS manufacturers.

I am surprised you even found them anymore. Are they still alive? I hope not. They serve no purpose and I guess were only useful to squeeze out some more profit from those ASICS.

Yes, they are still alive. I checked them at CoinGecko. Their prices are close to zero but they are still traded at TradeOgre and Monero Classic even at Gate.io. From your answer I understand that chances for revivals are close to zero also. I still hold them because during the fork I had Monero.

Can someone point out to me the difference between Monero (XMR) MoneroV (XMV) and Monero Classic (XMC) and why the latter two spark no interest by crypto investors and holders? Bitcoin forks often do quite better.

^  Pal is basically a better version of McAfee but they’re both the same..  Just dabbling with alts to acquire more BTC.  I mean really..  aren’t we all?  Sooner or later everybody will start to realize they’ll be needing some XMR for safe keeping too.

Anyway, how’s Fluffypony’s talk?  He’s one of the smartest people in crypto.
