Tried to look at hitbtc market but 2 browsers slowed to a crawl, can anyone use that site? I only allowed JS directly from hitbtc domain (and that may have been too much!). Smiley

After Alphabay, what other darknet market places accept Monero today?  I'm pretty sure some are at least thinking about accepting it.  It's the more private and the safer option obviously and that prevents the feds from knocking on your door.  I also heard that the Alphabay staff were paid in Monero?  How true is this?

IIRC Hansa have plans to implement Monero as soon as multi-sig.

Been lurking /r/darknetmarket right  now at work.  Lol.  It looks like Trade Route and Zion also have Monero payments.  These are small DNM's and I dunno if there are any reputable vendors using them but it's a start.

I have no clue what the 2of2 or 2of5 means though. But what I do know s it means XMR can be added to decentralized exchanges when it's complete, correct?

'N of M' means N signers are needed out of a set of M possible signers.

This is used for all sorts of escrow and wallet schemes, such as 2FA where you don't give up control of your coins (2 of 3 where you hold 2 of the coins, the 2FA service holds 1).

Yes, some form of this is what some decentralized exchanges require, though depending on the specifics they may also need other capabilities.

Thanks smooth, ok I wasn't sure what those numbers were referring to. This is the issue, what was it bitfinex?, that was holding 2 of three keys and the second was a rubber stamp and thats why they got hacked right? So is that why Surae is going to be adding 5 keys?

BTW Kraken update email today. I just can't trade there the margin interface is too clunky and I can't put a order in fast enough. Impossible to snipe a a long after a dump there with the frontend.

Quote
Please note the following changes to our bitcoin (XBT) and tether (USDT) withdrawal fees, and the Gnosis token (GNO) address fee.

Bitcoin (XBT) withdrawal fee

    Now 0.0025 XBT

Why the change? Kraken always pays a miner fee that is sufficient to ensure transactions are processed quickly. However, the average miner fee required to prioritize and confirm Bitcoin transactions has been increasing for some time without a corresponding increase in the fee we charge to clients. The update brings the withdrawal fee more in line with our cost for the miner fees. Note that the fee is static and represents our average cost per transaction, so the fee may not match the actual miner fee we pay in every case. Sometimes the fee we pay will be higher and sometimes lower than the fee you pay. Soon we will be moving to a more dynamic fee system that will match the fees more closely in each case - see below.

Tether (USDT) withdrawal fee

    Now 5 USDT

Why the change? Since USDT is issued and transferred on the Bitcoin blockchain, the fee required to transfer USDT quickly has also gone up.

Gnosis token (GNO) address fee

    Now 0.004 GNO

Why the change? The fee in terms of GNO has gone down, so we are passing the decrease along to clients.

Moving to more dynamic fees soon

In the near future network fees for bitcoin and tether (and possibly other tokens if needed) will be updated dynamically to better match the fee to our costs. The fee may change each time you withdraw, so if you want to know the withdrawal fee you should check it each time you withdraw. You can find the current withdrawal fee for any asset by navigating to Funding > Withdrawal > Asset in your Kraken account.

Thank you for choosing Kraken, the trusted and secure digital assets exchange.

The Kraken Team

Is there any API Gui's for Kraken or polo that is freeware that anyone can recommend? I only hold about 10 xmr but want to continue to trade it to grow it. I started with dust again and just add my sig campaign every week.

BTW Polo support never answered my ticket on the longs they screwed me out of but I have been assured from other sources that it has been kicked up to the correct tier.

That is as soon as 2 of 3 multisig is implemented.

What is coded now is 2 of 2

2 of 3 is being developed with no timeline yet

no hardfork is required as it is all wallet side

but now we have surae working full time and he has just started on multisig.  reviewing 2 of 2 and working on 2 of 5

His next 3 months, Sep > Nov, just finished being funded today.  You're welcome  Wink

Great news! Having a lead scientist on full time for the next three months is huge! And the Multisig Albatross no less!!!

When the hardfork issue, bitcoin prices drop and I think they move to various altcoins including monero, but why altcoin prices also go down?

if btc falls 5% shitcoins fall 10-20% lol

thats why its funny people think they would be safely diversified in shitcoins if btc ever  went to zero  Cheesy

And if BTC rises 5%, shitcoins rises 10-20% too?  Grin

Is there somewhere a monero roadmap? Also is there a monero WordPress plugin?

The new Monero website is being rolled out and the roadmap that was on the old site was not included.  This is the current site and roadmap and it is lacking quite a bit under "future" but will hopefully be updated at some point.

https://getmonero.org/resources/roadmap/

As far as a Monero WordPress plugin, I know something for WordPress is currently being worked on but I am unsure of the details or status.
Maybe somebody here knows more.

The funny part will be in mid august when nothing serious happened. The trick about surviving is all about staying alive. And Bitcoin has absolutely no intention to kill itself.
Watch it like theater performance, and relax.

Yes, the main thing being IF "nothing serious" happens it will STILL mean all the uncertainty has been "answered" one way or another.

That's what matters: getting rid of all the "OMG teh interwebz sez bitcoinz gonna dying OMG OMG !!!!11!!"

HoneyBadger'll be able to then get back to being HoneyBadger Cheesy

Let's hope so, anyway... LOL

The other outcome is maybe we're wrong, and bitcoin WILL totally implode and self-immolate, in which case probably Monero will take over as the first REAL digital cash (fully fungible).  Which suits me fine too actually since I have some of that stuff socked away "just in case" Cheesy

Either way I just hope we can finally just GET ON WITH IT.  Tired of all the bullshit politics and infighting all over the place.  Enough.

when will the carnage end  Huh

Within 1 year the bottom should be reached. Use the road map from previous waves as a template.

Honestly, you think this is already the beginning of a new long downtrend?

I don't, myself.  Not yet anyway.

There's been just too much positive upward momentum lately for it to "all just evaporate" right now, for no really good reason (just IMHO of course).

See my post above that all this blood now is really ONLY bitcoin alone, going down in dollar terms?  That, to me, says it's just market uncertainty fear worry panic etc about the upcoming BITCOIN (only!) fork/changes we're gonna be seeing in August/September.

AS SOON as we "know" what that fork/change is gonna ACTUALLY BE, FINALLY (after three years plus of uncertainty) then Mr. Market is gonna FINALLY have Less Uncertainty (finally, thank god!) and if so, then hopefully we're off to re-ignite the engines to new ATHs again.

Or, yeah, no.  Maybe not.  Who the fuck knows, LOL.  Honey Badger gonna do whatever he wants.

Personally I'm just gonna HODL as always and watch the show Cheesy

It's just a lot more entertaining this time, having a dollar cost average buy-in price so much lower than LAST time around, heheh.
