Ok but you would mine moneo out of support for the coin? Not for its profitability right? Since other coins are more profitable? Right?

I decided to move my hash power totally to monero mining. This shift is needed because ethereum classic mining became very hard and not efficient. As far as I see, mining monero is profitable and I trust the coin itself.

For the comparison of monero vs zcash, monero is much better than zcash.

Preaching to the choir my friend. Cheesy You'll get no disagreement unless TrueTroll or Primer is reading this. Lol

Damn just caught up so looks like the bubble is bursting on all CC. No surprise there except I was certainly expecting XMR to keep it's $ parity.

Good read from your guys mention, looks like a case of a self fulfilling prophecy that anyone with the correct foil would see coming a mile away, I did lol on the "conducting a stinkbomb attack" part though. Smiley

Any ideas why we are stuck around 0.016...
1: The entire market seems to be stuck in the same rut, probably in fear of potential problems coming in August.
2: Monero specifically seems to be sitting at a standstill. The hype is worn off a bit and it'll probably go either up or down soon (I'm expecting/hoping for up).

The hype? We did not see a real hype yet for Monero... That's my opinion at least. But when I look at poloniex I see that we settle underneath litecoin and don't get back over the 40 usd

Sarang Noether is interested in working on Monero again. The Monero Research Labs team is really starting to shape up.

Apparently, someone is building a decentralized whistle blowing platform that will use Monero. It seems like more and more people are recognizing the superiority of Monero.

With the wealth of auditable data trails I suppose they only need to find 1 tiny link to unravel it all.

In truth, that may still be the case.  Following the disappearance of the site, members were able to track their bitcoin wallets being emptied into several other accounts.  The way in which the wallets were emptied was in a manner more common to an Exit Scam than a Law Enforcement seizure, so members currently think the other Alphabay owner, Alpha02, may be emptying the accounts and running with the assets.  Those Bitcoin Wallets continue to be emptied today.

That could explain the down pressure on XMR price...

There for sure is pressure, but i dont think is something drastically. It is actually hard for me o speculate how much BTC and XMR was there. All i know is that there was 100 times less XMR then BTC.

One other thing is now sure. That Quebeck raid seems to be connected to Alphabay. Lets hope we will one day hear a reason how that happened and what information leaked that location. If it will be the BTC transparency, then this might be something.

Andreas confirms his position on Monero.

Got a link? I am surprised it took him this long. Andreas knows, and I listened to quite a few of his early talks, that Bitcoin and now Etherreum have an Achilles heel: fungibility / privacy. And Andreas is very keen on his (digital) privacy. As a computer nerd you simply can't not like Monero's core features, and there is nothing like it..

I thought the guy was an ETH hater.....hmmz   Huh Huh

It's all about selling books and making money from his speaking engagements.  In a way it's some sort of scam too.  I feel sometimes Andreas Antonopoulos mostly talk out of his ass when it comes to 'Bitcoin as the future of money'.  But sure he got all the technical stuff down.

Look at Coinmarketcap, practically everything is red. BItcoin malaise is harming the entire market, I'd say.

I tried to describe a dual currency model, in which a fungible hard currency (monero) facilitates the productive functions of capital markets, and an inflationary or freigeld-class of currency floats against the hard money, at some market value.  It is the issuance and distribution of the latter which provides UBI.  But in order for capitalists to sell their goods, they need to accept and exchange freigeld.

Remember Gresham's law.  The currency undergoing inflation or demurrage will see transactional demand, while the hard money will see reserve demand.  The clearing exchange price will depend on where the ISLM curves of the two currencies balance.

This is why I was pushing for Monero to have an exponentially increasing money supply in our old economics thread debates. An electronic cash with a higher transactional demand can penetrate markets much faster (assumption) because even the earliest of adopters have incentives to spend it. I believe this is at least partly why Bitcoin hasn't exploded into popularity as quickly as many expected. What is the ratio of people spending compared to those waiting around for the price to go up?

I don't think a single money can serve as the preferred currency for both transactional and reserve purposes.

Won't the new light wallets be coming as well? Are they independent of the fork or a part of it? Also multisig - isn't that scheduled for the fork?

The light/mobile wallets are independent of the fork...one could be released any day now. But, I believe, multisig would have to be included in a major release (hopefully September).

What about the September fork?

I know that answer.

It will not happen before September.

Or you have some other question?

Grin i was asking about technical information. I've read it in the official site. I do not know anything else.

It will bring us Mandatory RingCT and increasing the minimum ring size. I am not sure if this minimum ring size is set yet. Debate is there form February. Original idea was to be 4 from 2 years ago if I am not mistaken. Now will most likely be closer to 10.

Higher ring size you use more anonymous are your transactions but also bigger is transaction, so there needed to be found the perfect balance.
