Back in 2015 I'm looking at Darkcoin/Dash too.
But because of the "instamined coin" issue, I chose Monero.

Thanks again to this warning, I made a profitable decision!  Cool

I've been thinking about intentional cripple miner released to the public by monero devs, when thinking about investing in xmr.
But made a decission and invested in both, Dash and monero, before they reached $1. That decission was more profitable  Wink

In my books, Dark coin is not considered as a scam coin/"shitcoin" anymore the reason being the simple fact that they have been able to pump is higher than the initial pump.
As a speculator, I do not care too much about having the shiniest tech but the fact that the price goes higher than during the previous pumps. Shitcoins cannot do it.

Despite the price has risen the markets seem to like Dark coins twice as much as Moneros (Monero's marketcap 250 million usd vs. the market cap of Darkcoin 550 million usd)...  Huh  Undecided

Happy with price, but it's still looking oversold...

Yep. Way. Dont even want to bring up the German Laundry Detergents froth and bubble currently in rinse cycle....If thats meant to be thee benchmark....pfff my god what could be possible....

But that's the beauty of it. Its like one of these counterweights on an aircraft carrier. Slowly building stored energy..we shall see

After the grind of the last few weeks, it's looking way better - loving the volume.

We shall see indeed...

The real thing always has to do some grinding. Old Texas Sheriff: 'It's the path of least resistance which makes man and rivers crooked'(;-)

Morning all (and nice to see Risto back with a post)

Sipping my morning coffee and I see we are over $17 again, in spite of BTC resilience post ETF.

Volume on Polo buy side back at healthy levels, too.

All rather good....

EDIT: And back to no. 4 market cap - comfortably above Ripple.  Cream in my coffee today Wink

The "Dash is a scam" argument doesn't work. Open your eyes. Look at the price.
Fiat money is a scam too. No one cares.

Oh you want to play assertion theater?  Good, I love that game.  Here goes.

Your tired old argument (that the "Dash is a scam" argument doesn't work) doesn't work.

Open your eyes.  Look at how Tone Vays changed his mind about Dash thanks to our "Dash is an Instamined scam" public awareness campaign (and is now besties with Fluffy!  Cheesy).

Fiat money is a scam too.  Many people care; Ron Paul is a hero to millions of boomers, Gen-Xrs, and Millennials.

See how much better my assertions are than yours?  That's because I back them up with supporting evidence and analysis.

Now that the Dash scam is exploding, it's time for all the work we've done to prepare for that possibility to pay dividends.

Our long consistent record of warning others and volumes of research will now help dissuade those who may have otherwise been a victim of Evan's fraud.

Nobody can claim we just suddenly started speaking out because of the recent price rise.  Anyone can go back and see we've always had the same conclusion.

And we're not going to change that conclusion (nor stop broadcasting it) when some hopeless, weepy noob starts pouting about how crying fraud "doesn't work" because "no one cares."  Wink

When the Dash bubble bursts, some of the released capital will naturally find its way into Monero.  That may already be Happening....   Shocked

hello world

I tried to send 200+ XMR from the Monero Windows GUI wallet (I think it's the latest version) and I kept getting an error:
"Couldn't Send the Money:"

I closed and reopened and had the same problem and finally it said that it sent. . But still don't have it in my transaction history and funds aren't showing as pending at Poloniex.

Then I sent two small transaction afterwards (1 to 3 XMR) and they both showed up in my History and at Poloniex.
So I tried to send another transaction with 200+ XMR again and once again it says it sent, but not showing up in my History or at Poloniex.

I didn't record the transaction ID of the first one, but here's the one from the second 200+ transaction:
ca13ec7f373a7a5629806751ca967834f32fa8afbf1e6500929473c59f31b1c2

So where did my XMR go and why are only the large transactions disappearing like this? And I didn't change one thing with the send to address or payment ID from the first transaction. So that should be the same on all of them.

That's 400+ XMR that I'm missing now, so please help. Thank you.

hi, the network seems to be under some load, but your transaction has been mined now.

is the first transaction mined too? did you use a remote node?

please open a thread on reddit next time.

Do you guys ever have delayed sends from the Monero Windows GUI wallet?  I sent 4 transactions in 20 minute period (2 large and 2 small) and the 2 small ones were sent quickly and the other 2 disappeared for 2 hrs and then were shown in my transaction history with a time 2 hrs past the other small ones.

That's like comparing a GE nuclear power plant to the Free Energy Cold Fusion device some crank built in his garage (and won't let you closely examine).

Exactly, but not in the way intended  Wink

At least Moneroans have a sense of fun.

Margin and overextension are never recommended, but...

Margin and overextension are never recommended, but I feel like Monero might be prepping for an epic run to currently unthinkable new highs.

Don't worry, they cancel each other out.  Similar to being late for work, you just need to quit early to rebalance your day  Tongue

Hi fam. Many of you know me but it's a secret who I am. Monero getting interesting again so I guess it's time to pay attention to this thread again. Theories as to why the sudden rise?

Relief rally now that apparent threat of COIN ETF to XMRBTC is removed. Also, anticipation of official GUI release, kovri, multisig, mandatory RingCT, and integration by Coinbase. Finally, it just ain't right that DASH market cap exceeds XMR's. Something's gotta give.

Multisig and integration by coinbase Shocked. These things are news to me. Wow.

And yea i'll agree that definitely isn't right. People say "dash has instant transactions, wow, amazing, what a big step forward". But is that a step forward? My visa has functionally instant transaction speed and that was the case long before bitcoin. Visa just achieved it by being centralized, the same way dash is achieving it. Now they would cry fowl of course. Masternodes aren't centralized they would say. Credit where it is due, they aren't a true monopoly in the sense that visa is the monopoly transaction processor on its own network, but is a cartel that much better?

I expect Monero will eventually have fast, trust-minimized, highly-scaleable transactions via second-layer solutions like Lightning Network, TumbleBit, or a MimbleWimble sidechain. In the meantime it's the only game in town for a trustless ("can't be evil"), decentralized, censorship-resistant, private, fungible, and liquid store of value. I don't see world events leading to *less* demand for this any time soon!
