Well... monero has tanked on all these recent BTC spikes before they get hammered back down.  Does not seem to have this time on the run to 10k and back.

Interesting.

Looking at the chart of Monero of this month  it looks promising. It lost a little of it's moment but it's almost back at it's highest price of this month.

Really the killer app would be some kind of trust minimized atomic exchange.  Via lightning/tari perhaps?  Because in a sense Monero's least private bit is on/offramps more than anything else.

This proposal for atomic swaps has been fully funded:  https://ccs.getmonero.org/proposals/h4sh3d-atomic-swap-research.html

But really...  XMR's 'killer app' is it's privacy.  No other cryptocurrency can ever claim that it's better when it comes to privacy.

cAps was stating the killer app to support the monero eco system would be a seamless unregulated and private decentralized on/offramp and that looks like it is to take the form of atomic swaps. He was not stating that Monero's killer application is not privacy. I think you have skewed the context there. And yes there is no better fungible asset class than monero, not just in crypto.

Exactly correct.

What I was describing is one way Monero locks into a multidimensional crypto ecosystem, and eases all the ridiculous machinations people are doing to try to insure privacy in BTC.  All this without BTC having to change fundamentally while letting Monero provide the strongest privacy layer for BTC basically.

To quote a particular dbag "What many people fail to understand" is almost all alts do NOTHING that Bitcoin does not already do, or can have a secondary layer built to perform.  Monero is one of the very few that actually do check off that box.

I have no clue why there is a stubborn maximalist class that just sticks there fingers in there ears and yells whenever someone mentions bitcoin is not the end all everything tool for all transaction types forever. They just have no clue what that would scale too, it really shows their inherent ignorance of the entire technology.

When we are at killer apps. This video posted someone on Monero subreddit few days ago about Monero ecosystem grow. I watched it to the end and at the end someone asked him about Bitcoin killer app https://youtu.be/pNp2WhSGhqQ?t=1615  He answers that if every device would be able to mine few satoshi to pay for transactions. He is obviously a big fan of Monero.

Today I am just starting to study daily trading, as well as how to correctly make a technical analysis. In addition, on all the resources that I visit, they respond very positively about Altcoin Monero , because this coin has very high volatility, which gives unlimited opportunities for earning using various trading strategies.  According to research data, Monero’s growth potential is still not exhausted, and therefore it is obvious that even with the use of the simplest trading strategies on Forex, you can earn very well and most importantly do not provoke frequent triggering of stop orders.  I now try to work only on trading simulators, but meanwhile, when choosing coins for real daily trading, Monero will be one of the first.

monero is a good choice for daily trading, because Alts is also a favorite coin that is much in demand by its users. and is the most popular currency in terms of total market capitalization

Monero is not an alt, it is what sheep think Bitcoin is.

How's everyone feeling?

What's the sentiment right now... I'm starting to feel bullish again.

Monero, whatever its USD value is deafeningly undervalued in BTC terms.

ATH on transactions is delightful.

Engineering still looks strong, Tari coming along.

Anyone feel we actually might even see ATH again?

Extremely bullish on monero, for me it is the only true digital cash.

I agree, I wonder why it's taking so long?

I would like to help but I do not have much skills.  I assume it's just a lot of work developing that sort of thing.  But in many ways having the ability to do trustless atomic swaps from BTC to Monero would be perfect.  I suppose Bisq is close...

                Monero   Bitcoin   Ratio
May 2020   400,871   9,092,682   4.41%
Apr 2020    365,875   8,702,021  4.20%
Mar 2020   303,291   8,904,203   3.41%
Feb 2020   231,953   9,439,548   2.46%
Jan 2020   257,942   9,612,337   2.68%
Dec 2019   216,720   9,430,057   2.30%
Nov 2019   212,716   9,243,776   2.30%
Oct 2019   179,114   9,892,853   1.81%
Sep 2019   159,225   9,798,992   1.62%

Number of Monero transactions increased for 10% again. But this time also number of Bitcoins transactions increased for a change. In 8 mints transactions almost tippled.  But in last 2 weeks it was felt like Monero is catching a breath and number of transactions did not increase with a rate as at start of May. But with a rate like this we will be over million by end of the year.

One of these days the bitcion maximilists will realize monero is faster more fungable as well as cheaper to use.

Bitcoin is for wealth storage monero is for purchasing.
