@SunnyKing
I might have found a minor bug of bitcoin-qt but now it seems it could be related to primecoin.

Where is the blockchain data stored for windows, and what is the file name?  My client keeps desyncing with the chain without telling me and orphaning every block I find.  I can only fix it temporarily for an hour or so by restarting the client, and this is making it impossible to mine.

Make sure you are using one of the builds that was made today, the ones from yesterday had these sorts of issues.

Don't feel bad. I hit 4 of those too.. and I haven't mined a single thing for 14 hours.

Has there been a fork? My two mined blocks vanished  Huh

 Cry

I think I lost 6 blocks they are gone.

I waited for over 2 days to get those two blocks and they are gone. Seems like a tragic story for my CPU.

I guess slower internet connection is one of the reason to have higher orphan rates. I have a total of 4 orphans now.

There appears to be a network fork at block#14214 just now. Please run this command

There is no Block from last 24 hours......... What happened?
a: you got disconnected
b: your on the wrong chain
c: you chain updates stopped for some reason

I am online.....

How to solve these other issues?

b: delete blockchain, re-download.
c: restart primecoin

Anyone know of an optimized linux build? I think mine is broken Sad

Just build it yourself. Building on linux is seriously like 4-5 lines.

ehh I am an absolute noob with linux and I am using a headless linux so yeah. Would you mind uploading your client to github if it is optimized with his primespersec changes?

just a warning, when I tried compiling on VS2012 with optimizations, I found that my serialization code was off kilt, and run into all sorts of issues...

if you're playing with the reference client, it might be worth just trying to optimize prime.c (via CFLAGS override in Makefile) since that's where all the logic for calculations are - and you won't risk messing with any of the other important network code.

Will

Probably a good idea, testing with -O3 only on prime.

How on earth are you compiling this on VS2012? Do you have any project files you could share?

Maybe you meant to quote willphase's post.

I'm using MinGW for the builds I made.

I've been up for 36 hours cause of this coin, and still am not ready to rest.

Wow  Huh
Either you've mined a lot of blocks, or you are really passionate about primes  Tongue

That was incredibly strange, 17754 was taking a long long time it seemed.  All of a sudden the block solve rate just slowed tremendously from a glance at the block count.  It went from one every 10 seconds to 20-30 seconds plus.

Perhaps an outage/DOS at DigitalOcean has taken the VPS miners out of action? ... This was speculated last time the block spacing jumped from ~10 seconds to ~20 seconds...

Edit: and the blockrate is back under 10 seconds...
