Going by this rate, this would value Sunny Kings idea at $15,000.
For two days of coins, it's pretty high, no?
Of course I understand it's low for miners who actually would prefer to keep their coins at that price - especially since it required time to understand and set up.

That seems really, really, really low. You've got a very low production rate of XPMs
It's not especially low. It's still at 19 coins per block, from a starting 20.

Remember it's not the coins that matter, it's the idea and the network that has value. The idea of a potentially scientifically valuable output is new, and potentially valuable.

Since you can't buy this coin anyone want to buy mining time on servers? I've got around ~40 XPM/day on 8 cores(at 0.01BTC at pop thats 0.4BTC). I'll break even tomorrow. I'm going to run it for about a month so thats like 1200, or 12BTC.

I'd like to launch some more servers so let me know if you are interested while the difficulty is still low.

Any hope of a gpu version?
At least with my current (still incomplete) comprehension of the algorithm, it requires a bignum library.
With this in mind, I don't plan to do a GPU port on my spare time.
Maybe later, after CPU is working, if someone is willing to sponsor the development time.

LukeJr, do you have any hints for people getting started on where to look or what to look for?  Are you running Linux?
Well, the most obvious one was hashing the block header once per nonce instead of 1-3x...
I think the rest of my optimizations required actually comprehending the code Smiley

Does anyone know where in the code (or can translate to layman English) which hardware can actually mine or is restricted from mining?
What I mean is: Some people having issues with EC2 nodes. My old/free CR-48 will not get any primespersec at all. My two desktops work fine. Etc, etc.
Is there some prerequisite to have >0 primespersec within the code that could be referenced so I don't waste time compiling on old hardware only to not have it mine?

I haven't gotten any blocks in 4 hours. The diff hasn't changed, so I am assuming that people who have optimized their miners are getting the lion's share. I don't know much about miner optimization, but I am going to start poking at the code to see how these optimizations could be made because I suddenly have motivation! LukeJr, do you have any hints for people getting started on where to look or what to look for?  Are you running Linux?

Actually, it seems that the diff increases with every block mined.  If you list you transactions, you will notice that the diff increased between every block you have mined.

Yeah, but it started at 7, and now it's at 7.2, 1.2 days later. However, in my experience, the ability to mine the coin has gone down significantly. I was finding about a block an hour, and now it's been over 4 hours with nothing. I could have been extremely lucky earlier, but I would place my money on the assumption that at least a few people have figured out how to mine this in a more efficient manner.

It's really, really random. Mining for 24 hours and have got 3 blocks. 2 were 30 mins apart, then a 14 hour gap until the 3rd one.

Still buying XPM at rate of 15 ltc per 100 xpm..

I think you're dreaming.
Everyone keeps saying my price is way too low.... so, show me trades at a higher rate... show me all the trades that took place at a "reasonable rate"   Huh well..... exactly

[EDIT:  Actually it doesn't show the block diff in the transactions - you have to use the block explorer to see what the diff was for the block.  But I can confirm that all of my blocks so far had an increasing difficulty.]

hes calling me a scammer because I was offering a low price
No. I'm calling you a scammer because you are lying and were caught at it more than once.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/online24o0n-252592
Lying about what? The developers saying they could restart the blockchain if they found bugs Huh  They did, look it up... wow...    Either way, if I did lie, how does that make me a scammer, and how does that justify you putting me in the scammer thread?   ....  some peoples children..

Dont worry PrimeCoiners, I will not continue posting in this thread anymore cluttering it with this nonsense, good day...

OK everybody I find the pattern: whenever I paid attention to how the miners were working they don't find anything. When I went to lunch, dinner, sleep they found coins.  Wink

Can i go to sleep or is there a slight chance you'll release it to the public in the next few hours?  Grin
Probably not.
I'll only release it after BFGMiner is working well with it, AND if I've concluded Primecoin isn't a scamcoin.

hopefully it isnt a scamcoin

Any hope of a gpu version?

I seem to be over 1000pps pretty consistently after some optimization. Smiley

That's amazing! Much more than 20% xD

I'll pay you 2BTC right now for a linux binary if you'd like. Smiley Or source code, that's cool too.

Booo this should be shared with everyone!

I got 8 active connections when I am in office.
But 31 connections at home.! Huh

WHY? could anybody help me?
It won't go over 8 if you are behind a router that does not forward ports.
It's okay.

Thanks mate. The reason I asked the questions is that I keep mining for 8 hrs in office without any luck. but 2 blocks at home in 8 hrs.
Does the number of connections matter? or just pure luck counts?
Just pure luck for finding blocks. 8 connections is more than enough, honestly.

Just for reference to others, I found one block (slightly <20 XPM) in 24 hours of mining on a quad core AMD (Phenom II) machine. I was beginning to worry I wouldn't find one! Hang in there.
