Would be nice if there was some indication that you are mining other than your CPU usage jumping through the roof?

How do I see how many calculations per second im running?
*edit* type 'getmininginfo'

Maybe just a confirmation that 'setgenerate true' was received?

This GUI is seriously lacking.

6 cores of i7 930 get me a peak of 140 on linux so far, found first block after a few minutes, second one a half hour later.  Grin

I've activated 3 cores, and my primespersec is a measly 6. Friggin' 6!!! My PC is not *that* old. Is the problem that it's an AMD?

Processor   AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor, 3200 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)

It's possible. I found that some software compiled with intel's ICC compiler runs very bad on non-intel chips. Such as the linpack benchmark. It achieved only 7 GFLOPS on an amd chip that generally is as fast as my laptop's processor, which achieves 14 GFLOPS in linpack.

Maybe the same happens with other stuff.

We'll have to wait for the community to get their hands on it, im sure theyre gonna fork it to be the most efficient thing you have ever seen.

I'm getting primespersec 3, I have a FX 8350!

edit: and it's ramping up, I'll tell you when I get the final result. It's weird, my CPU is at 100% but it's at 45°C, prime95 normally gets it to 55°C.

Hey guys, how many blocks have you mined now? I've mined 3 so far. 61 XPM.

5 here.

3 on i5 3450, 1 on g2010, 1 on i5 2500.

seems about the same. my rig has the almost exact same performance as the i5.

1 block.  ~120 primes per sec on 3 cores of i5-2500k.  How do I tell which block # it was?

2 blocks. Block #12 and block #290.
I'm working with an i7-3770 and Xeon L5520. The i7 got both blocks.
I also got one orphan somewhere in-between those two.

Somehow my primecoin-qt client is getting 'left behind'... It was running without issue for 2+ hours until it got stuck at block 260 and didn't accept any newer blocks, in fact it kept trying to submit a solution for block 161

Quitting and relaunching primecoin-qt immediately updated the blockchain. Just sharing in case this is affecting other miners who think they are really unlucky finding a block, it may be that you are also 'left behind'.

Guys, is this OK:

Quote
{
    "blocks" : 260,
    "currentblocksize" : 1000,
    "currentblocktx" : 0,
    "errors" : "",
    "generate" : true,
    "genproclimit" : -1,
    "primespersec" : 18,
    "pooledtx" : 0,
    "testnet" : false
}

two questions:

 genproclimit is -1 , does this mean it uses all my 4cores?

18 is really low

Yes that is working fine.  Do a "getmininginfo" after a few mins and you'll likely find that the primespersec value will have risen.  mine started at 8 (i7 2700k) and now sits around 250.  My overclock is poor however, so I could probably get a lot more out of it.

Took a few hours but finally got my first block!  ~150 primes/sec here

How do you get 150 primes/sec?

i5 3570k on Windows.  It's fluctuating between 100-200 but it did spike up once to 346 on a random check.
