I've noticed that most of the posts are concerning the technical difficulties of getting the client up and running.
I had a look at your white paper and see that your proof of work is based on the idea of prime chains.
Is there any way that the pow could be manufactured by analysis of tables of existing primes or pseudo primes? (i.e. running verification tests against tables of known primes/ pseudo primes) If so your pow problem would be reduced to the manufacturing of large primes.
I know the bitcoin SHA 256 is very well researched but I don't know about this prime chain stuff.
Is your maths expertise good enough to guarantee the security of this?
I like the idea, hope it works, just have to ask.  Smiley

Can someone post the QT files for windows please?  and the daemon, if there's one in that installer package.

to bash it later after they have dumped
...people don't actually do that, do they?

yep they sure do. some people actually pay others to bash a coin when they have a post on the first page of a popular coin
>mfw I have a post on the first page

Looks like I'm getting a new pair of shoes.

dreamwatcher, use the one i have, it fetches the diff from the daemon as i have done
All i need to figure out now is to get the prime values because im not sure mine are right and also to get the network prime rate

Update on a CCE full block explorer.

The main issue is the difficulty calculation which I could not have completely discovered until I could see the source code today.

The nBits field is represent by a 32 bit integer which is further broken down into 8 bit length and 24 bit fractional length fields.

So either I will need to write an entirely new difficultly calculator in Python for ABE, create a hybrid ABE that grabs the difficulty from the daemon or drop this work on ABE and continue on the complete rewrite of the explorers in CCE which does not depend on the BLK files.

It must have been asked before, but so many pages.. so here goes; how would I (solo)mine this? Can I just use cgminer?
click help -> debug window.
then on the console tab, type 'setgenerate true'.
it wont tell  you you are mining, but if you check your process explorer, you will see all of your cores maxed.

You need to use the client to mine it, it's a unique protocol so cgminer won't work

You can't use cgminer. AFAIK the only miner is the one included with primecoind.

Avast detects primecoin.org as a malicious website and blocks it. Take a look.
