There appears an issue impacting miner performance when block size is large. I am investigating a workaround right now.
At-least you're here watching and reacting on time.
Something is wrong, please report back once you know more.

So the transactions aren't being included into the block even though they are degrading the performance of the miners.

Why is the block 202kb?
We're kind of stuck on it, transactions are adding up quickly  Shocked

I could swear when I was looking at this in the debug window, it said there were 13 transactions, and the block was over 200k, but I just looked in the block explorer, and it only shows one transaction - the coinbase tx.

39 minute block.

78414 -- Mon Jul 22 15:46:00 EDT 2013
78415 -- Mon Jul 22 16:25:42 EDT 2013

Any idea what happened?
Miners pulled out?

Everyone?

So I noticed a few minutes ago, that my CPU load dropped from about 1400% (running 14/16 threads) to about 100%. I restarted primecoind, and it went back up to full load.

This may have nothing to do with the long block, but I thought that I would share.

My CPU usage dropped below 100% during the block (each core was at about 30%), I was wondering if it stopped mining so I restarted. Maybe some miners stalled?

Okay seriously wtf, there are 12 tx in the 200kb block.

Why are people consolidating all their coinbases at the same time?

why time of block 77128 early than time of block 77127?

Block Height: 77127  Block Time: July 22, 2013, 07:29:38
Block Height: 77128  Block Time: July 22, 2013, 07:24:46   <---------------

This is normal. The block timestamp is written by miners, and miner nodes may have inaccurate clock. Bitcoin protocol allows a timestamp up to 2 hours in the future of the local clock when accepting blocks, and it also must be greater than the median of past 11 blocks. The constant 2 hours and the median of 11 previous blocks were chosen so that bitcoin network would not be too dependent on ntp or in general problems in the software clocks.

In primecoin these constants are set at 2 hours and median of 99 previous blocks.

"Don't go in the trollbox, trollbox, trollbox"
I can't find the post to quote it, but MCXnow is claiming to be the leading Primecoin exchange? I've never seen their daily volume at even half of what coins-e does.

As someone else said coins-e had glitches and cryptocoincharts also isn't showing full volume for mcxNOW. I think they may not be polling the exchange quick enough.

And why on Earth does it look like a video game from 1990?

I'm looking into doing themes eventually. I changed it at one point to something less "video game-ish" and got heavily criticized for "burning peoples retinas", so I switched it back. Smiley

If you read the about page you can see that the site is pretty unique when it comes to exchange quality and security. Which is probably the most important thing when it comes to money rather than the looks.

I'm a little concerned at their claim, "We're not greedy" for setting their fees at 0.2% but then gouging a 0.1 BTC monthly subscription for seeing the full order and and for executing trades quickly!

Name another exchange that updates as fast as mcxNOW does in its free mode! Smiley . Maybe if there was any competition for the responsiveness of mcxNOW I could be forced to up the ante, but right now I think it's placed fairly well. The "pro trading" accounts are about 10-20x heavier on the site, letting everyone do it would consume too many resources. I'm looking at alternative ways to get pro accounts rather than paying with BTC though, like getting your friends or other people trade, etc. In regards to being not greedy you will see with the new feature coming further proof on this.

It's obfuscation and I don't like it, not my way of doing business. It feels kind of cheap and tacky, like BTC-E before the icons were banned. Hell, like BTC-e still.

Coins-e just seems underdeveloped in comparison. I have no coins on either exchange.

RS the problem is, that you arent providing the full orderbook trough your API. you should really provide the full orderbook. if this is too much load for your servers then do it like mtgox. they are providing the full orderbook (only allowed fetching 4 times / hour before getting blocked) and then they providing a fast orderbook with only the first 100 orders.

Huh?
mcxNOW is currently down for maintenance

MCX has been down for some time. Did RS, no he didn't. Pours a glass of fine single malt scotch, salutes to C++ with hybrids.

Exchange is running fine, did you go to a bad URL or something perhaps? I don't have any differentiation for a 404 or any other type of error, you'll just get the "exchange is down" page.
