Ripple announced this milestone a week before its first ever conference. Why would they do that? Didn’t their CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, hint that there will be a big announcement at the conference? Why would he front-run his own news cycle?

The success of these cases could potentially attract more financial institutions to Ripple.
Moreover, the strategic approach of Ripple—to work with financial institutions, rather than against them—makes it less likely to face a regulatory challenge. To put it another way, short of an outright ban, XRP is likely to grow faster than Bitcoin, Litecoin, or Ethereum.

... but if you have thousands and thousands of XRP and seeing the price went $0.26 from $0.25 is already a huge profit.
If you trade tiny price movements like from $0.25 to $0.26 you will get slaughtered by fees at most exchanges
- with the possible exception if you trade really high volume and manage to reach one of the low fee or no
fee at all fee tiers.
E.g. at Kraken you are able to make "Maker trades" (=providing liquidity for the orderbook instead of taking an open
order) for free if you manage to surpass a 30-day trading volume of 10,000,000 $ with the XRP/XBT trading pair.
However, even if you reach a high volume like this, you would still be paying for "Taker trades" when you
take existing liquidity from the orderbook.
To sum up, in most cases I´d strongly advise against trading miniscule price movements due to fees.

if you only bought few XRP, you won't be noticing the growth of your money exponentially. you would have to buy thousands and thousands of it before you will be able to appreciate the slightest movement of the price. its great to see these small increases in price, followed by periods of consolidation, all the while the daily trading volumes remain large. Even if you didn't believe in the coin, the chart alone is screaming at us that xrp is a good investment. With real world adoption on the increase, the haters are burning indeed.

Cant figure out whats going to happen when conference comes.
If we analyse the start of upward trend i think it was because of the conference anticipation, right now its seems like a pure very short term speculation although the trend is upwards. I guess , one just should wait and see what news there will be in coming days.
