How is Verge better than other coins with similar tech?

I think you will be fine with that transaction. My desktop wallet takes a long time to sync as well.

Go here http://vergecurrency.de/ and get the latest blockchain. Helps a lot to manually download over having the client update the blockchain.

how did you get a wallet address from the desktop wallet if you cant open?

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

So I've hit that moment where you swallow your pride and ask for help. I have searched this thread (not all 280+ pages) and I'm still stuck.

So this is another "qt wallet won't sync" S.O.S.

Here is what I'm using:
Macbook Air
OS X El Capitan version 10.11.5
1.4 ghz intel core i5, 4 gb 1600 mhz ddr3

I downloaded it 3 times now (I did not replace the first or second downloads) and no luck. Each download has the same wallet address. I’ve let it try to sync for up to 12 hours now, 5 or 6 different days.

I have a PIVX QT wallet that syncs in a matter of minutes. So I do not believe it is my macbook.

When I click on “block support”, under Decode Transaction I get a “output: fail and input: fail message.

In help / debug, under Block chain:
current number of blocks 574861 (and rising as I type)
estimated total blocks 1056343

Do I need to just be more patient and let it try to sync overnight?? I’ve read I can add a bootstrap or a node, but without specific directions it may go terribly wrong!

Lastly, I need to keep my current Verge qt address. Total noob bonehead mistake, but I downloaded Verge wallet in the morning, went to work, got home, and sent my XVG from Bittrex to the QT wallet WITHOUT checking to see if it was synced. So freaking stupid. The good news, I know the transaction will appear in my QT wallet once it syncs. In my withdrawal history on Bittrex, it shows as completed. The address matches my qt address. I have the transaction ID as well.

Thanks again everybody.

$XVG - The Standard in Crypto as a Currency!
I am confused, the paper wallet generator here: http://vergecurrency.com/paper-wallet/index.html produces addresses that start with 1, but all verge block explorers use addresses that start with D. I assume th block explorer are correct... i there a correct paper wallet generator in existence?

you need to select verge in the menu, not bitcoin lol

I'm excited about the newly redesigned Roadmap on our Website, particularly the goal of introducing RSK.  RootStock continues to be a big deal as evidenced by the shear amount of development the comparable platform is getting introducing their Smart Contracts.  These contracts at this point are ruling, at least in the ICO arena, and there seems to be a lot of hype for an ICO based on RSK.  With this in view I have a few questions:  How would implementing RSK benefit $XVG?  Is there community consensus on these benefits or even community knowledge about all the benefits this move provides?  Lastly, what's in place to promote the implementation of RSK unto the Verge Currency Network and all the benefits it might bring.  I'd love hear about this - cheers!

good potential but i dunno with the coin count and all other factors (and whales) this thing is just a pnd whore lol.
made some ok btc on swings the past 30 days here Smiley

Have you actually looked to compare how XVG is distributed compared to other cryptos? It's one of the, if not the, most normally distributed coins on the market. Statistically, there are no real whale outliers per se compared to the other cryptos.

Interesting, but are you basing on a rich list analysis ? Maybe it's just smarter whales spreading the coins to multiple addresses. Is there a way to know if different addresses are held in the same wallet ?

Link to XVG Rich List please
