Bittrex was a very high percentage (over 90%) of trading on the coin.
The constant chain lockups were a problem for them when people deposited or withdrew raising complaints and support tickets.
The Dev works closely with them and when they learned there was a major change coming in wallet they did the smart thing.
Sit on the side and wait for the new wallet.

The other exchanges will also have to update their wallets to work with new multi algo wallet.

maybe you missed out on the last few weeks.. our blockchain is stalling during an attack. we have a new release coming out that will fix it. for now, markets are disabled so we can get the release out and not have this issue. the new release has several new features, multi algo being one of them.

wrong. only bittrex is halted. when the blockchain proceedes, you can buy/sell/transfer your coins without problems here: ( tested today )
