I personally doubt it is like that. When you got a membership you have an activated account there, from there it is renew and/or recurring, even if it expires at some time after that its a manual renew membership.
But this has to be tested of course after 1 month when the first membership expires or the Verge Devs give some inside knowledge, but by logic it would at the current state not be possible to renew with verge, no matter if expired, manually or whatever.
The only option right now would be to make each time a new account with a new email adress to use verge.

Actually it is not an oversight. After i found that out yesterday i did some searches and found a comment by mindgeek about it that it might or might not be offered at a time, but not now or soon.

I think it would be a great thing, if The VergeTeam and MindGeek would offer something like a promo like if you renew your package paying with verge, you will get a 10% discount.
There is NO renew possible with Verge, it is ONLY for the initial first signup possible to use Verge. Renews can be done ONLY by credit card. No idea how many more times i have to write that .....
Eventually at a later point this will be possible, but at current state it is not, so i would not count on whatever renew options soon!!!!

I wont deny that I am a little baffled by the magnitude of fall from 1400 to 750. I expected it to be 1000 saths max.
Why are many people not seeing which is clearly written on the wall. VERGE really has made a history by enabling a real life use of the currency (A philosophy being sold by rest of the 1500 cryptos but not made feasible yet).
It will unseed ETH from number 2 position in long run. But what is happening right-now is unbelievable. Truly unbelievable. But I am HODLING on!!!

You don't have even the elementary understanding of how/why/what makes the price moves. But this is exactly what I would expect from a typical dumb Verge fanboy

XVG is *still* up over 100% from this time last month. Once hard numbers come back, as well as the additional partners lined up and real-world use including access to direct fiat/XVG purchasing, we'll see who sits on the right side of this.

Nope, sure isn't... TONS of people have already bought their Premium accounts using Verge. You realize $10 purchases don't move the needle on a billion dollar currency in one day, right? There are just a ton of fud peddlers who want to diminish what is actually the biggest deal in Crypto to date. Sell! Please! I'm banking a LOT of coins on the folks who thought they were going to get rich in a day and selling the coin below what it's worth.
Let's also try to remember that TokenPay is on-board with Verge. Let's also try to remember that we just advanced this one coin by exposing over 28 Billion new potential coin holders with just PornHub alone. Don't forget all the other sites owned by MindGeek.
That's just one partnering. How many more are in the works? Yeah. Keep selling!

It's not the individual $10 use of the coin that moves the value, it's the use case, yes for those dumb little kids who don't understand the market basics and yet try to act like experts, it's the use case and its potential for wider acceptance that drives the value up. Seeing how price has since splattered, continue indulging yourself in such wild hallucinations as 28 billion new potential coin holders .... that really takes the cake but given the intelligence level of most Verge fanboys, we have not hit the rock bottom of sheer stupidity yet.
