On the bitcoin wiki, I've just read that we could mine testnet blocks on solo ckpool

Quote
If you find a block, 99% of the 6.25 BTC + transaction fees get generated directly at your bitcoin address.
1% goes to the operator to operate the pool and contribute to further ckpool code development.

For testnet:

If you find a block, 100% of the testnet coins + transaction fees get generated directly at your bitcoin address.

Link : https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Solo.ckpool

Was it possible previously or is it a mistake ? I was not aware that testnet blocks were solvable via ckpool

Thank you hZti and iwantmyhomepaidwithbtc2!

I'm good with mining a block every 800 years. I will likely get more miners this year.

I believe we need more plebs solo mining to decentralize as much as possible and want to support that effort for the remainder of my life even if it is at a loss.

I joined the amateur home miner class with a FutureBit Apollo full node+miner and an extra miner attached for a total of 6 Th/s and I have been pointing it to solo.ckpool.org:3333 for the past few months but saw another thread that said the pool was closed in May 2020.

You can check your BEstshare and other stats if you insert your username (Bitcoin Payout address) on the solo ck pool homepage. But it is quite unlikely however to find a solo block with a haste of just 6 Th/s, even if it did happen past.

Is ckpool still alive and operational? I joined the amateur home miner class with a FutureBit Apollo full node+miner and an extra miner attached for a total of 6 Th/s and I have been pointing it to solo.ckpool.org:3333 for the past few months but saw another thread that said the pool was closed in May 2020.

Solo ckpool is operationnal

Ckpool (non-solo) is not

The only working ckpool is https://solo.ckpool.org/

There are slots open for the next upcoming run #010 on our solo mining group BLOCK SOLVERS. If a few more people join in with a 0.001 BTC stake, then we could organize a New Year's Eve run and try our luck at the turn of the new year. Let's go solo miners. The stake of 0.001 BTC should be easy to realize for most of you Lips sealed Maybe we will get it done until tonight and we can start a run. Who knows, maybe we'll have New Year's luck

No block found on our Christmas run --> start planning our rext run Block Party 29

############################
Hello all,

let's go to the next group buy from Hashingpower.

As already requested by some forum users I put a new group buy for solo mining. Start at the earliest after the next diff reduction.

~15-18 users for each 0.005 BTC or 0.01 BTC can participate. A higher number is not useful, otherwise a possible profit will be much too small.
If smaller amounts than the minimum amount are allowed in a single case, then the calculation of the rewards will be based on the amount of BTC deposited.
Hashingpower is rented on Nicehash and shot on the solo pool.
The status of the group run can be observed during the runtime via the Live View link.
Here you can see what our hashingpower is and what our highest share / bestshare is.

If a block is found, the reward will be paid out to the participants.

Lets go and let us find a block

In the past we had found 9 blocks --> 188 BTC!
Block list: 385022, 394940, 394946, 395087, 396941, 399709, 401934, 706369, 712217

Those who want to participate send their BTC to the following address bc1qlpd45688hce39lusur8sdnuzy3z2dx4uvrgpkt and post their participation with the following template:

Please send your coins only if there is still a place available.

To make it a little easier in the new year, I've decided to do the reservations differently.
In the new year there are reservations possible for people who pay for 2, 5, 10, ... block party runs in front.
If the quota is exhausted, the place will be automatically free and someone else can use the place.

Specifically, we start with the Blockparty Run 2022-1 and if someone sends 20x 0.01 BTC at the first time, he is practically permanent until the Blockparty Run 20.
If someone joins the Blockparty Run 2022-7 and sends 10x 0.01 BTC, he will be a member until Blockparty Run 17.
This simplifies the organization and places are not permanently taken by the same people, unless someone sends 50x 0.01 BTC for the 50 planned Runs.

If we should not create at the end 2022 the Runs, for which someone already paid, the last Run in 2022 all payments are used around longer to run.

As long as open slots are available the coins can be sent at any time without an OK from me
ATTENTION: New BTC address on Nicehach. Nicehash is changing its deposit addresses.

Hi All, I'm trying to wrap my little brain around the math behind a BTC block being generated. I believe I understand the basics. However, my question is related to the nonce. Let's say I have just one miner. When it starts to "guess" the  hash for my proposed solution by incrementing the nonce from 0 to n, followed by the extranonce (rehashing each time and comparing to target), the odds of any duplication of work is zero because I have just one miner.

Now let's say I have two miners here at ckpool solo, both pointing to the same BTC address, different worker names. Are extranonce ranges provided by the pool to prevent duplicate "guesses" by each of the two miners? What if I use no worker name instead? Can this then lead to a possible duplication of work in either case? What if I have 10 miners then? Still no chance of work duplication?

It seems that because I want to avoid testing the same block header twice for the solution that awards me 6.25 BTC, it could be advantageous to control the extranonce ranges for each miner I have pointing to the same BTC address here on ckpool solo to prevent any duplication of work. Is this already happening in the backend and I am just not aware of it?

Just trying to get a better understanding...

This is the solo.ckpool thread, please open a new thread in the main mining section.

To your question: No, the stratum send to each individual miner a unique number, that is for every seperate connection, your miner does not have to add a worker name on it.
Read the stratum docs.

This was a solo pool question. I am mining on the solo pool. Regardless, I suspected the pool handled it with the extranonce values, I'm guessing by applying a different value to each miner to prevent duplication of work but I will check out the link. Thank you for sharing that.

Hello.

Let's see if you can clarify this for me.

A S19J 104 has been 44 days without shutdown in CKPOOL and in Dashboard indicates this:

It indicates in the Diff: 91.6K
In the DiffA: 93637514146

If we look in Ckpool it indicates this:

bestshare: 1033460203823.859

These data have nothing to do in common, can someone explain this data to me?
I also see that in Dashboar the Diffa always goes up but in Bestshare it has been a long time without change....

Best regards,

Diff = the difficulty set the by pool, based on the number of shares you submit when you first connect the miner, the pool will set a number that is small enough to indicate the hashrate and large enough to avoid sending dozen of packets back and forth

Diffa  = Difficulty of the last accepted share, it always changes with every share you submit

on the pool side :

shares  = number of shares submitted (obvious I guess)
bestshare: is similar to the Diffa on the miner status page but unlike the miner status page it doesn't reset with every share you submit, the pool would reset it one a block is found.

if you so happen to hit your bestshare while looking at the miner's status page updated, diffA and bestshare on the pool will be the same.

Kano's Pool is running at that rate, not CK's.
Look like you have the wrong pool.
CK is @ {"hashrate1m": "74.5P", "hashrate5m": "75.5P", "hashrate15m": "71.2P", "hashrate1hr": "58.7P", "hashrate6hr": "42.8P", "hashrate1d": "30.2P", "hashrate7d": "28.7P"}

is there something wrong with the pool? it hashing at 2.4PHs!

Nothing to worry about

Sometimes Nicehash bids are stopped for some time (if for example someone rent a lot of hashrate with a higher price per Ph/s than us)

We are not loosing money, don't worry

No i meant Ckpool servers is running at 2.5 PHs something is going on looking at Kano.is app

Exactly.

The BlockSolvers (see signature) have also started Run #008 and we wish all of them good luck. May the block finally be mined Smiley Good luck to everyone

Merry Christmas to all out there.
