Mining 6h now still not showing up under the /users section.

Have you submitted any shares?

I'll be restarting the de pool shortly. Downtime should be minimal.

I notied that went I refreshed my page at /users/ this morning It was saying I had like 13.5 TH it slowly went back down to my usual number though after around 15 min.

I guess that was just it resetting?

Grin All ok, the Miner didn't even go to failover, so that was a quick restart!

Hello,

Complete noob, just got an X3 Prospero with lcd, and wanted to try my luck with solo mining. I'm just not sure how to set up my rig, the lcd has built in mining software and three options when setting up pool: Pool, Worker, Password. Would I have to set my Pool as "  stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333/1whatevermybtcaddressis" Worker as "randomname", and Password as "mypreference" or do i need cgminer and just configure it through terminal? Thanks in advance.
Pool as "solo.ckpool.org:3333"
worker as "1whatevermybtcaddressis"
password as anything

Do you have a date or time in mind that you will start the update just so I can make the person who is watching my miners dose not freakout when they start beeping at him
Hopefully in about 2 hours from now.

Oh well looks like its a 3am wake up for him then.. haha... Beeep... Beeep... Beeeeeeep..

Will this reset my bestshare?

"bestshare": 1202963229.359168,
No it should not, unless we find a block in the meantime.

I will be updating the pool's bitcoin daemon to 0.15 based code soon. Unfortunately this is quite a substantial update that updates the UTXO database on moving from 0.14 which incurs some downtime for the bitcoin daemon. I will be setting up a failover bitcoind to handle the downtime of the bitcoin daemon but in the process I will need to restart the pool. I will use this opportunity to make some minor improvements to the pool but the downtime of the actual pool should be minimal.

For some it's all or nothing, that's just as valid an outlook as any.  My dust miners are pointed to a pool, however, when my A6 and S5 were running I only pointed them here.

I think Patrick Henry summed it up when he said, "Give me a full block or give me death." or something like that.  Cool

reality is what you think it is
It's usually considered bad form and somewhat impolite to wander into someone's pool thread and tell people not to use it. Since you use it intermittently or for failover I forgive you but maybe consider what you just posted.
Oh sorry -ck if that was impolite, but wasn't that a fair answer to a guy who asked questions like what wallet to use, how to configure s9 and had no idea of how noisy it is? He's an obvious newbie and that's great with me, but I only wanted to clarify the difference between solo and pooled mining, that's it.
And yes, I'm using your great pool as a constant failover for my asics and every Friday I'm pointing all the hashrate I have here for 24hrs and I've been doing this for over a year now and encourage anyone to use it if they are interested.
Peace?

thanks again computergenie,
whats the bestshare thing all about, is that how close you are to the end of a block?
A valid block comes from a share that is higher than the network difficulty.
The "best share" is the highest difficulty share one has submitted.
Sadly, you can't "build on" a best share or "go up from there"; like Atrax said, it's all completely random.
Basically it's just there to make us feel good (or in the rare instance of it being super high with no block, letting us know if something is wrong). Wink

A block is found when a share's difficulty is higher than the network difficulty.
"Best Share" is just a number to see how close you've come to finding a block. It's all completely random

So your share would have to more than the number below to "solve" a block.

Bitcoin Difficulty‎: ‎923,233,068,449

Thank you computergenie, should i add in the stratum etc as well as solo.ckpool.org
Leave everything as it is, except put "solo" in place of "de" on the middle slot, and you're good to go. Wink

You probably want to set the 2nd slot to "solo.ckpool.org" instead of having both slots 1 & 2 set at "de.ckpool.org. If the de link goes down, with both set to de, then both will be down and it will go right to 3. Wink
