So are  you saying size matters?
Only insofar as it increases your chance of finding a block. I do not prioritise them in any way. The only reason for a custom connection for them was to allow them to put a custom signature on the block which I'm willing to do for any large miner where large is >100TH. If you don't care about the coinbase signature then there's no advantage apart from perhaps hiding your hashrate.

CK, may I ask at what speed the farm was mining at? And congratulations.
In this instance I'm not sure if the farm owner wants to remain anonymous so I'm not sure if I can say, but if you check the coinbase signature of that block on blockchain it may give you an idea as to who it is.

They were so large they approached me about a special instance so their hashrate would not appear on the general solo pool's hashrate. It is trivial for me to add extra custom solo instances for large miners.

Congratulations to the owner of the first block mined by a large farm on this solo pool!

https://blockchain.info/block-index/463015/00000000000000002500e0d607ca78f9369225c925eb78e9bd0e26f2cb1d2246

There was no great luck involved here, there was a lot of hashrate being thrown at this.
Yipeee! And I just pointed away my entire 14GH ... could have been me!

Given the low frequency we're likely to be seeing blocks, I'll just post the found blocks here. I'm not even storing a share count or anything at the moment since shares mean nothing. We'll see if the popularity picks up and if I should add that in, but I suspect I'll mostly see a trickle of hashes from small hardware and the occasional failover.

If it's any indication (and you probably already know) one of the "competition" solo pool started last year November, reported 2.5 TH/s in February. It is now at 44 TH/s. They found their first block end of June and a total of 7 blocks since then.

yeah but they had a farm there for awhile with 160-180TH

Do you support testnet?
No I don't but I could easily set one up on a separate VPS. However these servers do have running costs and there's not much in the way of incentive with running a testnet pool is there?

No:) Just asking.

I didn't know this existed. Thanks. I will definitely be doing this as a lottery!

my apologies, willl look out for the thread about generic solo mining. Thanks for the tip about cgminer. The cgminer indeed is very old in these antminers (new or old)

Anyone knows why the antminer S1 or S3 does not work for solo mining.
It gives high DiffR# and there is not way to tell what is happening.
Even if you turn off the pc that is running the wallet, the antminers donot detect that and keep running as if all is well for a long time (in minutes) at least in my case.

This is a pool thread for support of this solo pool, it is not for generic support for solo mining. That said, the Antminers have old versions of cgminer in them that used the ancient getwork protocol which bitcoind was not fast enough to work with for modern hardware. Either upgrade your cgminer or point your hashes at this pool instead.

Will you add a counter or at least the last block solved (with or without address or partial address info) ?

BTW does anybody knows how many blocks have been found so far by solo.ckpool?
Zero
