what did you expect on a forum about recover your money, Yobit is a scam they don't take a look on forum gstant1.  Shocked
I expect them to pay me, this is the only way I can possibly hope to contact them and if that fails at least it serves as a warning to others.

Yobit is a famous russian scam exchange, if you value your money, never use it. They listed scam tokens/coins many times. Pumping happens on this exchange everyday. They are ready to promote anything for the money.

Yobit is a russian scam exchange i have lost money there too with trading , pump and dump and lock wallets scams etc...This is the worse exchange i ever encountered in my trading crypto history but my losses were small comparing to yours.I really feel sorry for your 10 btc ,man. You can try to contact Russian Federation embassy in your country and offer them reward if they can help recover your funds. Also Putin administration usually is active on criminals scams  if you go public on television and make them PR this way so they will look great in the eyes of western people.Write to Putin e-mail (it's not a joke) and give them information about your case with specifics and give them all the info about their past scams here from bticointalk. Contact some russian TV channels and talk about this on TV if they agree to make a show.I have heard people scammed with 100 btc not sending to wrong wallet but to the right one and never get their funds back but you should try everything. This is your best shot!
This is a huge joke, nothing work in Russia like he said. No one from government will help you.
Yes it has been over a year now.  But I have not forgotten and never will.

The thieves at Yobit would really want to hope that they never get made public who they actually are.

You have zero chance of getting your money back.  Yobit is known scam exchange, they have a dice game on their front page.......

Your only hope is to track down the owner and teach him a lesson. Cry

One year anniversary now.

Obviously these thieves have no intention of paying and never did.

And on their twitter they have the audacity to refer to others as "Hackers" or thieves, the very thing they are themselves.

RETURN MY FUNDS YOBIT AND I WILL GO AWAY AND REMOVE NEG FEEDBACK.

This situation does not look good at all. I dont think they will return your funds to be honest and they can step on the terms you agreed to and say no. I think this is the main reason they dont respond and the large amount of tickets they get everyday.

So in summary they are thieves.

They could easily find my funds using private keys, I doubt that the BTC is still sitting in the BCC wallet, they would have taken it, nearly a year now since Yobit stole from me.

I have also heard multiple accusations in the about yobit and lost/locked coins and there are other threads in this forum too. Another think to note is that yobit is mostly a pump and dump exchange. If someone takes a look at all the btc forks they have listed there for so long and they are not providing deposits. Its a joke of an exchange really and I cant wait for regulators to hit them hard.

Yobit is an obvious scam, I've been saying this from the start. All users advertising yobit exchange in their signatures should be red trusted.

I agree they are still holding my funds hostage.

Update:  Nothing to update.

The Yobit thieves have not paid me and have not used their account here since Feb.

Probably wasting my time but I am now making a formal complaint to the Ministry For Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation against Yobit.  https://en.mvd.ru/

i feel yobit is not a scam, why because i sell some of my cards there, but i don't suggest a new project for listing on yobit. Why? most of them who only listing on yobit will eventually die and disappear from the circulation of the crypto market. also with many bots really really bothering traders in determining a decision. but for a scam, well I don't think so

Profound logic. You sell your cards there so they shouldn't be a scam.

They flat out wanted 140 USD dollars to work on my ticket which is to unlock my 1 BTC on Yobit that is stuck on email confirmation.
https://www.reddit.com/r/yobit/comments/9asmqk/1_btc_stuck_for_7_months_on_withdraw_email/

Why do you even help them by trading there... There are countless people who lost their money. Well I guess everybody needs a lesson for their own.

I really hope he gets it back.
Thanks, so do I.
I'm sure he learned his lesson, painfully so, but please, guys: never, ever, EVER!! send all your money to one place. Whatever it is, a single failure and it's gone.
Especially if you don't control the keys.

There is no reason on earth to transfer all your wealth to an exchange!!!
I have learned a lesson that is for sure, however my error which I own, does not mean Yobit should profit from it financially, or at least in full, they no doubt have recovered the 10 BTC when they were made aware of it and now they should do the right thing and at least repay me some of it.

On the forum there are people who advertise this scam exchange. Thousands of people lost money on this exchange. The Russian local branch is filled with thousands of posts about the loss of money on this exchange. Why the forum administration allows to advertise this exchange and carry signatures?
https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/batangbitcoin-808310
I think that the forum should prohibit such advertising

Two threads - both sent a substantial amount (10 & 7) ETH to ETC address at Yobit - with two entirely different results.

One got angry and got nothing back.
YoBit stole 10 ETH from me – a conversation with Dominik Herzog - Chat Log
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/yobit-stole-10-eth-from-me-a-conversation-with-dominik-herzog-chat-log-4868465
I did the same thing with 10 ETH and YoBit flat out told me they will never give it back to me:

You guys won't believe this.  Yobit gave me an activation code and then a link to enter it which had gave me the full amount of my ETH from their insurance fund.  WTF.  Problem solved. I truly can't believe it.

I don't use Yobit.

Update, created a new support ticket in the hope that someone actually reads it and takes action.

That is my 13th support ticket, will it be a lucky number?  I doubt it.   Cry

Still I will continue to post here and update and remind people about what Yobit is like, if they refund me I will do the right thing and remove negative trust and lock thread but until then their name is mud and am also considering finding an Attorney in Russia but that is not easy to do as I have found so far.

Yobit please do the right thing, just pay me 8 of the 10 BTC while the price is low and salvage some of your reputation.

IT HAS BEEN NEARLY 9 MONTHS NOW SINCE FIRST TICKET LODGED!!!

Hi, thanks for doing that, I appreciate it, but do not get yourself in trouble on my behalf.

I have tried that route also and was close to being banned by the same guy and I was worried that they would close my account all-together so I left it alone.

Just checked my balance again, no support messages and nothing paid to me, still waiting and waiting.

Yobit if you read this, please tell me why you sent me the "Insurance Fund" message which I have filled out several times, only to receive nothing?

I am not going away.  Please, again, I urge you to do the right thing.

So to continue the update have logged in again, no replies to the same ticket where they said "If the problem is not solved, what kind of compensation would you like to get from the insurance fund? "
where I entered 8 BTC and it then gave me a pop up that said "Info Okay" in green which I guess means their system received it (for the 10th time).

I will be back in a week or two to both check my balance and again update this thread.

This thread is going to be going while I still draw breath until they pay me, if they ever do.

It may not change anything but at least it helps me a little psychologically, but at the same time when I do think about this it also sends me into a state of depression.

So damned if I do, damned if I don't it is a perpetual vicious cycle that eats away at me.

Thank you to everyone who has bumped this thread and offered advice and or words of support, you may think it means nothing but it really does mean a lot to me, I feel like I am not alone when there are others who show support and it is deeply appreciated.

It definitely looks like Yobit is scamming here.  I'm not sure how they can justify not sending someone POS interest and not responding to the person they did it to.  No respectable exchange would do that.  Hell, no respectable entity would do anything like that.
And that is exactly what it comes down to, they do not seem to care about their reputation or their customers.
More importantly it puzzles me that if people think Cryptocurrencies will explode in the medium to long term future as more technology is added along with edging closer to mass adoption why would you as an established already profitable business bother to steal from a client when you have the means and ability to rectify this and also add more support staff.

If I owned Yobit I would be doing everything I can to ensure that my companies image is improved upon not degraded by the actions of those in charge and would be looking to project the image as being that of Established/Trustworty/Real customer support etc.

Has anyone thought about consulting a lawyer?  I realize it could be expensive, but it's worth considering.  I don't think these scammers are ever going to stop doing this shit unless they suffer some consequences with more weight than just getting a negative trust on bitcointalk.

Unfortunately again you are correct, having them be forced to do the right thing would be a good start.

I have considered a Lawyer but there are many obstacles, such as their owners name and address, company address, the fact they are operating in Russia (so i am led to believe) and the fact that I cannot afford to mount a case against them, all the money I own in the World they currently are holding hostage and they know all of these obstacles are in place so there is no incentive for them to do the right thing, but it makes me as myself.  Do these people actually have hearts?  Have they ever tried to put themselves in the shoes of someone in my position?  Would they expect their Children to grow up and act the same way their company does?

There are real people at Yobit who are stealing real people's money.  That's outrageous.  I'd read a lot of threads before about their shadiness, but what they did to nwo99 really opened my eyes.
It is like they have a license to steal with impunity.
I am a big believer in Karma but karma is not going to get my money back, unless one of them has a weak moment of honesty and or integrity.

Great support ! Looks like yobit doesn't care about their reputation. But I think they really don't care about anything, except money. That's all what they need. People if won't lost your money don't use this "exchange".

That's really a bad story...10btc at a value of 12-13k each are a bad loss...now the value it's halved, i know, but you can still recover your bitcoin, and i can help you. I have a friend who used to work for Yobit, and maybe i can ask him to press for a resolution and if you're lucky in 1 week or a little more they will add the 10btc to your balance, otherwise the Btc are gone i think. Pm me your skype contact
Hi, that would be a big help thanks, can I send you my email address, I don't use Skype sorry.  I can even provide your friend my account username if you like?  How long ago did he work there and what was his role?

Thanks again much appreciated.

Agree with you! be careful man with all this newbie and their "help". There are a lot of scammers. They try to steal your money. Usually they say that you need to pay 10,20,50$ dollars to support or something and after that they will help you. This is scammers. Don't send anything to them.

I can't evaluate whether this effort is genuine or not, but I'd advise people to be very skeptical of this if there's not a clear indication of what they intend to do with your information.  Very skeptical and very careful.

Sorry about the unfortunate mistake and how it hurt you financially and psychologically gstant1, I hope you finally recover that money and / or at least

earn a greater amount from other crypto activities. How are you faring now, professionally and personally ?..

Your story is a huge cautionary tale, and contacting various news outlets (also mainstream ones) to make a story about you was a good idea,

such coverage might also motivate Yobit into taking swifter and more favorable actions towards you. Good Luck.
Hi, thanks for your kind words.
How I can describe how this has affected me I could not put down in words, all I can do is keep trying for a fair resolution.  I will keep updating this post until I die, but I do not want that, I would rather Yobit just pays me 8 of the 10 BTC, then I will remove negative trust withdraw my funds and they will never hear from me again.
I was going to contact news sites however since they sent me that "Insurance Fund" thing I thought I would wait and hold off doing so as this was the first positive and only reply from them which gave me some hope, a light at the end of the tunnel.

Unless they are just messing with me which is how it feels now because since they have sent the green insurance fund thing (see 1 or 2 pages back) I had some hope for the first time, now it has been nearly 2 months since that happened and my hope has again eroded, so yes to me they are also destroying me mentally as well as financially.

Yes, you can pm me your email, skype was better just for a live chat. My friend has worked as a normal support, however Yobit doesn't scam, it has just a weird type of working. That's the point for getting your money back. However i can pubblicly say that I will give all my efforts to solve your case for a bounty of 1.5 btc(you proposed 2btc directly to the yobit support), and i will do that.

Be careful man of this newbie account he won't do anything for you and will further scam you for more money.
I have had similar scammers contact me for my own problem with yobit but luckily i didn't fall for it Smiley
Do NOT contact him!

Just a question so I understand your case better:

Are your 10 btc still stuck where they were sent or did yobit take them out for themselves?

Coz the former implies negligence while the latter is straightforward theft.
What happened was when I deposited the BTC I sent it to a BCH or in Yobits case a BCC address, thinking it was my Bitcoin address but I had "Hide Zero Balances" checked so sent it to my BCC address when I had just woken up.   I realized my error straight away and contacted them, and more than 6 months later, here we are.

They have the ability to recover my funds and I have said please just send me 8 BTC instead of 10 but still they have not done anything except just under 2 months ago, they never actually replied verbally in writing to any of my many support tickets but included a green box which asked me how much BTC I would like from their "Insurance Fund" where I entered 8 BTC, that was nearly 2 months ago and still nothing since.

any news? did you get your 10 BTC yet?
No still nothing.

Not even 8 BTC which is what I asked for from their "Insurance Fund".

This has ruined me financially and they can fix it but do not care.
Well maybe it would be better if you'll public your conversation with that. Screenshots or something, that people will see more proofs. Of course a lot of people know that Yobit is a sort of scam, but if they see that maybe it would be helpful for them( and for you of course).
I did not include screenshots or TX ID for fear of someone else claiming that it was them who sent it and also for privacy.
Yobit has all of the screenshots of the Transaction and the TX ID  but I could post a screenshot of all my support tickets to them, there is about 15 of them.

Hi I will create an email address and send it to you thank you.

Hey, you're doing something nicer there! Could you give us some more information about your initiative? No much information about the team could be found on the website. How's it going to work? Will lodging a complaint help people get their money back? You could be also an organisation (or pretend to be) who takes such information and take bribes from YoBit? We will never know until you tell us your long term plan with the org.
With no disrespect intended for the guys running the site, that is why I did not include my original email, there is no real mission statement and the fact that the site is "FOR SALE" when it has just opened made me think twice, just being honest about that.

Sorry but I still wonder why you have still choosen yobit after all of its bad reviews and experiences.

Recovering your btc is i think almost impossible right now. If they are showing sincerity then they must have been curious where is that amount came from since that is actually huge. Unless they haven't really received the amount whether its your fault or their systems fault
I chose Yobit because I had been using them for a short time without any issues.  As I have said in the original post the initial fault/error is mine and mine alone, and not Yobits' fault however they have the ability to rectify my error and still make a profit, instead they are just keeping all of the BTC.

Did you at least try to find out the opinion of some lawyer? maybe some lawyer might see some loophole that would allow you to get some action in court and you could get your bitcoin back... you should always consult your lawyers and you should never give up using the courts or the police

Hi, thanks for your help and concern it is much appreciated.  I still have some hope left, although they did not actually respond to one of my many tickets they sent me something in support saying how much would I like to receive from their insurance fund, that was on the 9th of this month.

I have entered in the amount of 8 BTC.   So they are still making 2 BTC from my error.

I have replied to them twice since then but still not payment.

Will remove negative feedback if they pay me the 8 BTC and walk away happy and close this thread, will keep updating.

let's hope they have some benevolence and give back their bitcoin, that would probably be the brightest thing yobit would do in these last years, because the services rendered by yobit are worse, they do not show any concern in solving the problems of their clients and I very much doubt that they have many customers, because there  today are many better exchange. either way if you can recover your bitcoin then give up using yobit

Just over a Month since they sent me the "Insurance Fund" thing and still nothing, no reply no credit.

Yobit if you are reading this, please pay me the 8 of the 10 BTC now so we can end this and it is while BTC is low, I will remove the negative trust and you will never hear from me again.

Yes still not resolved and they are still ignoring all of my support tickets.

Why will you not repay me Yobit?

Does anyone know who the actual owner is, their name?

I spent hours doing research for months and nothing, no one knows who is the owner of yoshit, and this is very difficult. I saw you said

I doubt legal action would work because yobit's terms and conditions cover it from any user mistakes. A long wait for a reply to a support ticket is the OPs best hope.

Still waiting for my 10 BTC Yobit, have contacted editors of Coindesk and awaiting a reply.

Pay me now while it is cheap, even though it is MY money!

So, until Now OP's problem is not resolved, 10 BTC is a Big Deal, it's not Easy to get that Shit.  Why Yobit is still deaf about this Complain? Haven't see some Reaction or follow up by yobit in this  Thread,  it would be a Possible Lost memory, if this will not be taken an action for months again. so consider it OP, that your Money won't return. Have seen also may negative feedback from Yobit.
This will be a really bad reputation to Yobit For sure, have you posted some articles about this OP?

a reputable site would return the money , this has happened here with another exchange ( can't remember it though ) and they returned the money to the sender but it took time

sadly OP I can't see you getting paid unless a miracle happened , yobit isn't answering most of the tickets and in your case they need to answer the ticket and do some work so I really doubt that they will pay

keep your thread up , maybe in the future yobit will settle their past issues

Indeed. I think that Bitfinex and Binance both at least make efforts to getting their client's money returned to them. Yobit just blatantly ignores their clients and that is what makes me so mad when a yobit accusation comes up.

And plus OP should be regarded as a VIP customer, especially when the volume even after inflated bots trading back and forth on pump and dump markets, a 10 BTC deposit is no joke. They're not even processing such large claims, and I think I mentioned before as well, this man is willing to take a 20% cut as well. what more can you ask from your customer?

I have not forgotten Yobit.

I still want my BTC back.

Going to write to the Editor of www.coindesk.com to see if they will do a story about your actions.

Please resolve this and return my life savings.

I hope so too. Try to get some mainstream media attention, and hope that yobit will settle their past debts in the future when authorities in Russia get involved or something. That's your only hope really.
Thanks, I hope they do as well but they just ignore every ticket and this thread.

Glad you may realized that they ignore these threads last months, once they were taking care of it, but not now.
You mentioned scammers profile link: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/yobit-406594
You had to take look at it before using their website. Red trust is given fairly here in 99%.
Do everyrthing you can, write to coindesk editor, this shit company deserves to be stopped.

Don't blame for Yobit just because of your mistake Smiley. I think not only Yobit, if you have the same mistake with other exchange like Bittrex, Binance, Poloniex...the result will be the same, you'll lose it all Smiley

Try to be more careful next time
Can you read Dickhead?

I am not blaming them for my error.

They have the ability to recover my BTC with minimal work and transfer into my account which they are not doing.

If you worked in a shop and someone left their wallet that contained 100K in it and you had their contact details and could easily return it, would you?   Or would you keep it like a thief?

I personally would return it because I can and am not a thief and would be grateful for the reward.

One persons error does not automatically ingratiate the exchange with the right to steal.

I am not rich and cannot afford to lose this, words cannot describe the stress I am suffering everyday because of this.

There is not much information about yobit on the internet, I´ve found this article ( I think its russian language) and it does not look good for yobit victims

Just because this guy made a mistake is not a reason to steal his 10 BTC.
Thanks and that is right.  I am only asking for 8 BTC back so it is not like they will lose out of this they will make 20k + just for using private keys to recover my funds and move them from one wallet to the other.

I am not rich and cannot afford to lose this, words cannot describe the stress I am suffering everyday because of this.
Why would they spend time and work to earn 2 BTC when they can spend the same time for 10 BTC by transferring to their own BTC wallet ?
Sad, but it is Yobit. I hope I am wrong, but seeing their background in customer care, I am not very optimistic...

a reputable site would return the money

Yes that is true, it is not as though I am not admitting I made the initial error, which I did in my OP but that does not dissolve them from ownership of their sites responsibility to do the right thing by their customers.

sadly OP I can't see you getting paid unless a miracle happened , yobit isn't answering most of the tickets and in your case they need to answer the ticket and do some work so I really doubt that they will pay

keep your thread up , maybe in the future yobit will settle their past issues
Thanks I will be keeping the thread alive, I hope they can just return it while the BTC price is low, there is more incentive then.  It is not as though if they do not return it they will just leave it sit there, either way they are going to recover the 10 BTC and either keep it for themselves or return all or part of it to me, so it is not like they won't recover it, we all know they will, the big question is will they do the right thing?

I tried to find some information about this shady exchange but there is no company address, no founders... just some news that it's been investigated for fraud in Russia.

learning the best with the issues you experience and a very detailed explanation of the settlers of all, this is a very important information for those who have not experienced.
no one wants to lose, but the error also can not be ignored.
hopefully can be solved with the best possible, no problem that can not be solved with good intentions. concerned about this issue.

Just because this guy made a mistake is not a reason to steal his 10 BTC.

Yobit has no obligation of returning the money to you. Clearly it was you who sent the wrong coin to the wrong address, and they can easily claim that security of their entire site is more important than one customer's funds.

As much as we'd love you to receive back your funds, and as much as we believe so to be the fair resolution for you, it's ultimately up to yobit. They hold the coins in their wallet right now, you do not. If they don't agree, what can you do?

Plus yobit's garbage support isn't anything new. Especially for questions like these, even good support have a hard time to figure it out. You'll be lucky to even receive a response within a month from them, i'd say.

Buy this lesson, don't send coins to the wrong coin address again... It's costly to do.

a reputable site would return the money , this has happened here with another exchange ( can't remember it though ) and they returned the money to the sender but it took time

sadly OP I can't see you getting paid unless a miracle happened , yobit isn't answering most of the tickets and in your case they need to answer the ticket and do some work so I really doubt that they will pay

I have multiple tickets some of them coming over a month old and still no replies.

And they have not used the Yobit account on here since the 13th of December.

They are probably reading the scam accusations though.

If you are Yobit PLEASE do the right thing and just give me back 8 BTC of the 10 BTC.

I doubt legal action would work because yobit's terms and conditions cover it from any user mistakes. A long wait for a reply to a support ticket is the OPs best hope.

https://yobit.net/en/rules/

Visiting the Website means that the User accepts the given Agreement and all the terms and conditions stated below. The User is obliged to fulfill all the local legal responsibilities in the country he is resident of and to take complete responsibility in case of their violation. User undertakes complete responsibility for taking decisions on trade transaction fulfillment. The Stock Exchange is not liable for possible losses caused by User's ineffective funds management.
Those terms and conditions clearly state that Yobit is not liable for any possible losses, nothing is lost here, it is sitting in my BCC address (unless they have already taken it out and spent it which is more likely the case) and it is recoverable.  If it is recoverable, then how can it be lost?

Had their terms said "If you make a mistake, and we can profit from it, we will do so without giving a fuck about our customers" then you would have a valid point, but the funds are not lost, just sitting in the wrong wallet, easily rectified by using the private keys to recover the BTC but they are not doing so thus far or if they have done so, they have kept the lot for themselves.

Either way, not one single reply to 10 support tickets, what does that tell you?   There is not even an attempted reply of Plausible deniability from them.

In 2016 they took about four weeks to answer a support ticket. Now with the massive influx of new users they probably take four months to respond. Poloniex and bittrex can take even longer than that.

It's outrageous anyone should have to wait so long, but none of these exchanges have expanded their support staff numbers enough to cope with the increase in users.

I recently emailed Yobit Support with no response, I have continued to send about 1 email a week, claiming the similar thing, with no response. Anybody else finding it difficult so contact them?
They respond to me well after the issue is dealt with, usually 3-4 weeks later.
This is common and one of the reasons they have lots of complaints on the forum.
Not sure why they do not hire more folks to deal with the issue,it would improve things for every one.

Very common, hope that answers your question.

so you sent funds to an incorrect address and therefore its the sites fault?
What a stupid remark, did you even bother to read my original post.  Show me where I said the initial error was Yobit's fault.

What happened:: When sending 10BTC to Yobit I made the error of sending it to a BCC (BitcoinCash address on Yobit) because I had "Hide Zero Balance" checked and I take responsibility that I made the original mistake, not Yobit.
However they have the ability to recover my BTC using private keys and I even offered to pay them 2 BTC for their time of my 10 BTC but they have not answered over 7 support tickets and totally ignored them.

even if the site is being slow, calling them out as a scam wont help your cause at all. if I were you I would tweet and email them about this and say sorry that you ballsed up in the first place
They have had over 10 tickets and not answered any of the and I will call them scammers until I get my money back.  It is not like I bought a car and wrecked it and want a refund, I sent to the wrong address which they can recover using private keys.   They have no email address and do not reply to tweets or support tickets.  Your advice is coming from someone without any experience in dealing with Yobit by the sounds of it.

You think they are just going to let that 10BTC go to waste or keep it for themselves?   They thus far have kept it to themselves which means they are stealing from me, as they have the ability to rectify the situation but are not honest people so they are not doing so.

Still no reply from support.

Yobit please do the right thing, you have the ability to recover my 10 BTC.

By not doing so and ignoring me is equivalent to THEFT.

all alt exchanges are under severe overload right now, its well known that support tickets are taking time to be seen.

Yes I made a mistake but that does not mean they can just profit from it and keep the BTC they should do the right thing and because they can simply recover the BTC which they no doubt have but are not giving any of it back to me that is the wrong thing to do, or in this case to not do.

Scammers Profile Link: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/yobit-406594

Amount Scammed: 10 BTC
Payment Method: BTC
Proof of Payment: They have the proof of payment in multiple support tickets, I am not going to link to it because someone else could claim they also sent it.
PM/Chat Logs: Many screenshots of every support ticket including in Russian.
Additional Notes: Do the right thing Yobit, yes I f^&ked up and it was my initial error but  you should not just steal my money by ignoring me.  At least pay me back 8 BTC as I offered.

I have sent a PM to Yobit here also with the TX ID as proof but they have not been on-line since the 13th of December.

The Moderators on Yobit chat are not helpful and all they say is "This is not a place for support" yet they could easily see that a support ticket is at least looked at I have more than 7 over them over the past 3 weeks but nothing, no reply or even auto-reply.

Thieves.
