I love to play dice. But only with house edge on my side; and I am lazy. So I "invest". I am playing dice, passively! Others roll the dice for me, while I have statistical advantage. It's actually a lot of fun!
Also I am long-term investor. In analogy to stock market, I want dividend income. Not to speculate on future value of investment. I don't want to "sell" (close) investment for a long time, if ever.
I have simple suggestion to improve investment program. If implemented, I will urge Yolodice to PLEASE turn on the dilution fee ASAP!
# The problem with investment now
No way to withdraw profit, unless closing investment.
Therefore: No way to withdraw profit, without eating a dilution fee from investment closed and immediately re-opened.
# The easy solution
1. Set initial value of investment as a "low watermark" (lowat). This is easy. I see the system already tracks initial value of each investment.
2. Add feature to reduce investment by any amount that does not reduce it below lowat, without closing investment. If investment is in a loss, then it cannot be reduced without closing it. If investment is in profit, then profits can be taken out to wallet balance. Amount should be chosen by investor, up to maximum of current profit above lowat.
3. TURN ON THE DILUTION FEE!!
# Why I want this
It is not just me, I am guessing that any long-term investor probably thinks like this:
If it's a good investment, I want to park my money there. Only take distribution of profits as income, like stock dividend.
A big enough investor could probably live off income of YD investments.
I see my share of the bankroll slowly shrinking. I do not like it. If 2% dilution fee, it would be ok... my share of new investors' dilution fee would be compensation.
I only think to withdraw investment in these circumstances:
1. Personal emergency, need money, no choice.
2. Need capital for my own business. In this case, it makes financial sense to close my YD investment, make more money, then pay 2% to open new YD investment.
If bankroll gets too big, dilution fee should be increased. Another feature suggestion: Dynamic dilution fee. Take moving average of investor profits for some time window, and calculate the dilution fee according to a targeted profit level. This optimizes investor profits, while encouraging bankroll growth to follow growth of gambling.
3. I find a much better investment, and stop to invest in YD. But what is so much better than share of gambling profits? LOL. Anyway, in this case the dilution fee is irrelevant.
# What to do meanwhile
Now I have my money divided into 20 investments (max # of investments). One big, few medium, many small. This way, if dilution fee is turned on, I can take profit by closing small investments after my total profit exceeds them. However, I will eventually run out of those.
Also it is ugly. I would prefer to have one big investment, or a small number of medium investments to make accounting easier.
If YD makes lowat feature, I will also ask if feature can be added to merge existing investments. This way I keep my initial investment, and do not miss any potential profit from vast betting as I click to close and reopen positions.

Agreed, would like to see dilution fees added ASAP.
