I do convert some of my bitcoins when I need money but I don’t do that when price goes down because I have long term approach and I believe that bitcoin is worth much more than the current situation. Even if I can’t buy in lower levels then I don’t even sell it in that case. One should buy or hold bitcoin up to his capacity of loss bearing.

For me,you lose if, you sell at the wrong time () or when you're being forced to sell because of some 'urgent' need/circumstance.
Selling because you need to, eliminates any sort of control you have. Profits are all left to chance since you have to sell whether it's high or low.
There's also the cases where those who receive weekly payments proceed to sell as soon as they receive their 'wages'. It's automatic and doesn't consider anything else other than converting into fiat regardless of price.
I feel that is also a loss and results in a lot of missed opportunities for some.

If we selling bitcoin we lose, in long terms bitcoin price will increase more than now maybe cross 1000$ again after few weeks. No one know that. but i believe that this cryptocurrancy had a lot of surprice for us ( i mean bitcoin community ). Many people now Trust bitcoin and use it arround the world, that is to say bitcoin price go up.
So, the conclusion is do not sell your bitcoin.

You will lose if you are not patient. if you sell your coins even just a little bit higher than the amount you bought it i think thats fine. there will always right time to sell if you dont wait then you wont gain anything.
I don't think that you can always earn from trading just because you were patient. For example, you bought an altcoin at 1000 satoshi each because you thought it was a good coin. And so you waited for a couple of weeks, and the price didn't even move that much. And then you wait more and more since you're very patient. But the price was just decreasing. Did your patience help you? No, it did not. You simply just waited and waiting doesn't require any skill at all. Everyone has the capacity to wait.
I think you should be able to identify which coins aren't stagnant, which is pretty easy to do btw so your waiting would worth something. Just a piece of advice, if the coin isn't moving that much, if the coin isn't even decreasing, then it's probably a dead coin so don't buy it.

actually you are doing the right thing but thinking the wrong one!
what you do is what every experienced trader does. you sell when you reach your profit target. trading is no place for regrets. if you made your profit then take it and be satisfy with it. and if the coin went higher just take the profit and be happy you made a profit instead of losing and think about your profit target next time to be more accurate.
buy on fomo. or do not read abot coin, what u want to buy.

Probably, it is one of the traders strategies, but if you only have not enough money to have a large capital. You cannot earn a lot in fast way if you have a small capital, especially you want a fast way of earning, you cannot trust the value changes of a certain altcoin
yeah, every traders have their own strategies, with small capital we need long time to make big profit unless there is a pump on the coins and we sold it in high price. in trading we should be patient to always check the price so we don't missed the price we want and we can get what we want.

I'm not losing every time I sold my coins because I convert it to our fiat money and I can buy what I want. It can provide my daily needs and pay my bills, so it is really worth it. I don't care much if I sell it in high or low because I got my bitcoins in different day and time.

Then why you need to do that ? No sense at all. OP is talking about not holding when bitcoin was near ATH. When bitcoin prices were seeming to fall down, you will lose if you prefer to keep on holding.
But I am not agreeing with OP, and I am just holding my bitcoins for another bounce back.

Lol! that is not even said as the basic principle to profit is the opposite, you would sell at the right time and that right time is when you feel you are getting the right profit you expected. Never sell when you are losing because if you do that, you only show your lack of trust with bitcoin and you will never gonna succeed in the long run.

I always sold my bitcoin and always exchange it to fiat currency im in need every week not because spending them on random things but because i need it for my daily expenses going to school and i just get bitcoin for free from trading and gambling so it's not a problem to me if i sell.
I'm confident for bitcoin about reach 5x times from current value on 2019 as we know there will be halving and bitcoin demand got higher

Right now bitcoin is close to 900 so that means by your prediction bitcoin will reach a price of 4500 dollars per bitcoin while I have faith in bitcoin I am not sure bitcoin can reach such a price in such a short time frame.So I'm focus to purchase bitcoin every month ( 10-15% ) and keep hold as long as possible

nobody would have thought if in that year will be 1100 USD/BTC just in a month. The bitcoin price is very difficult to guess.
Lots expected it on the contrary, the thing that no body thought is the announcement of China right after some day Bitcoin breaks $1000. That is really annoying, just when Bitcoin is up $1000+ then China announces some anti climatic News and Bitcoin take a dip until $750.
Although it could also be strength if you have the courage to sell tat the right time. Risky but still if you can afford to lose then it is a good thing. It will be beneficial for the next trade that you will encounter if you ever will do it again. You now know the risk that you will be getting into.
Yeah you are right. at that time when the price was going down I worried and my brother advised me to sell them now but then I remembered the past and then I decided then no I will not sell and good time will come once again. So I hold them and now I am happy with bitcoins with me.
we always lose a lot of money in panic selling. and that is mostly happens in short term investment. in long term investment we do no care the the little pump and dump, i personally in interested in long term investment about 4 to 5 years. and hope that after that time bitcoin price will more that triple as compare to the present price. so i will also recommend long term investment to my friends.
