there are more secure investments than a Krypto Currency no one for sure knows where it came from and who definates its price in the stock exchange, plus, it is very likely a bubble like the telekom stock in germany in the year 2000.
You only lose if you didnt managed well your bitcoin. If you didnt managed well your time and effort by doing certain things. Just like in trading if you dont have the patient and effort to do a trade in a certain of time you will lose your bitcoin that way.
All these things are right without doubt. However, we have to ask ourselves what is the loss? I mean, people who own big mining farms. They spend nearly all their time on work in these rooms with loud miners. They control the process, the state of miners and the cooling system. They earn big sums of money but in my opinion they lose more, because they lose their life, sacrifice it for bitcoin and money.

Well in my opinion you only lose if you do not have a big target. People invest a small percentage of their amount just to see if their gamble works or not and luckily at that time it works. Yes indeed panic selling will make a loss and a lot of newbie traders who did it (even traders who already have experience they often do that). What to do when panic selling was doing DISCIPLINE to follow a trading plan previously created, so plan should be required before starting trade. I always sold my bitcoin and always exchange it to fiat currency im in need every week not because spending them on random things but because i need it for my daily expenses going to school and i just get bitcoin for free from trading and gambling so it's not a problem to me if i sell.
In your case, It's understandable. In the end we all have a different reasons why we are earning money through bitcoin and when
we finally earned it, It will serve it's purpose. Some are earning to grow their bitcoins for the future and you to support yourself

If you are a traders then it is not good to sell every time because you will need to wait for the good time and and do not have to sell in those timing when the price of bitcoin will be in the way to increase more higher in the coming future. You will lose if you are not patient. if you sell your coins even just a little bit higher than the amount you bought it i think thats fine. there will always right time to sell if you dont wait then you wont gain anything.
Patience is much important with bitcoin to gain the profit, but everytime patience won't be effective. Its better to plan for a targeted price and sell once you reach it, else with over expectation holding with patience results in loss.
