I'm a newbie and I need your advice on how to go about things in this forum.
I joined this forum 2022 but I was not active so I really don't know how things work here.
I need help as a beginner and I will really appreciate your support in other for me to know more about this forum.

Thank you.

You are welcome, and it is nice to have you back. I don’t think I have much advice to give you because my fellow members have already provided you with a lot of advice and some have even given you links to follow. Once you follow all those pieces of advice, you will find yourself moving in a successful direction. However, one thing I would like to remind you of again is to avoid creating threads indiscriminately; only create threads when you have very important information to share. I believe there are many questions you might want to ask, but the truth is that almost all of them have been answered before. Therefore, if you can calm down and spend some time going through the existing threads and following the discussions of other members, you will really learn a lot from them. This way, you will gain more insights and contribute meaningfully to the community without redundancy.

Welcome newbie.
Many here already given you lots of advice so I will only give you one advice. Just follow the rules. That's all.

I mean every one of us started as a beginner, and all of us followed the rules hence we are here. Just follow the rules and learn to read more. Aside from that, watch YouTube documentaries as well in order for you to learn even more. Welcome again. Smiley

Welcome to the forum. I can see you have gotten a lot of wonderful guidelines that will help you navigate the forum without having any problems. As a newbie, do more reading than creating threads so that it will help you understand better how the forum and bitcoin work. I will advise you to learn how to do your research so that it will help you to be informed.

I'm just curious to know why you remained inactive after you joined the forum in 2022. From my own little experience, I was able to go this far because I was committed to being useful in the forum. A lot of people have given you different recommendations on how to grow in the forum and all those recommendations are good but, you can only grow here if you are committed or you will become inactive again and come back after some years to meet new people who are already ahead of you.

Welcome back to the forum mate, ensure you take every advice and recommendations given to you seriously, stay committed and be consistent. I hope to see more positive inputs from you and feel your impact in this forum.

New in the forum? Welcome.
There's so much to learn from the community if you abide by its rules whose link has already been provided by the first user to comment.

My Recommendations
1. Read more than you create topics. If you do, you'll see that most of the newbie questions have already been answered.
2. Use the search button to search for whatever topic about bitcoin comes to mind or anything about the forum. The results will amaze you.
3. In your replies, you may be tempted to pass off someone else's work as your own for reasons best known to you. Please don't. It is called plagiarism. You will be caught and be given a ban.
4. The same goes with artificial intelligent written posts.

Ok sir but can I take idea from somewhere and then write about it In my own words.
Paraphrasing without proper citation is plagiarism. Why would you even want to pass someone else’s work as your own? Engaging in forum discussions is not rocket science. Most topics are Bitcoin related and if you truly have interest in cryptocurrency, then it will not be long before you catch up. Authenticity is rewarded by the community so be yourself when making posts.
Exactly. This is what most newbies fail to understand. Some of them tend to be very quick in doing things, and they think creating threads will gain them merits easily, so instead of learning everything in detail, they tend to just copy any make sense write up they feel will catch attention to earn them merits online to the forum, not knowing that it can be tracked.

Just as Davidvictorson said, read more than creating threads, and always check well, especially the pined threads in all sections, before creating your own thread because most of these things are discussed here by several users. You can be reading through old threads to get some information you need, and you are good to go.

People ahead of me have given you the necessary links that you will need, but I will also be adding a few things. As a newbie, make sure you are ready to read and learn, don’t be in a rush to post, if there is anything you don’t understand, make sure you make use of your search engine first. If you can’t find an answer to your question, then you can create a thread to ask, and people will respond to you. Also, when you are being corrected, don’t get angry, that’s part of learning. No matter how you are being corrected, just accept your correction and never take it personally. Make sure you don’t post with AI or other tools, anything you are posting should be written by you.

Ok sir but can I take idea from somewhere and then write about it In my own words.
If you are just going to use them as reference, they're fine and always include the original owner or source of where you've taken them.

But if this all about telling the same thing and idea of others from somewhere else and you're going to tell it exactly as yours, that's unethical and plagiarism.

Don't do that if you're going to rewrite the ideas of others. Just reference them out and use them for that purpose and not solely for rewriting them as if you're the original content writer.

You are welcome to the forum. The best way for you to understand the forum better is for you to be patience,  you don't need to be fast as a beginner because if you want to be fast you may end up in making mistakes that can lead to regrets. Having a better understanding as a newbie is very important because it will make you grow for you to see yourself st the point you desire to be.  The problem of most newbie is that they try to be too fast without having understanding on how the forum works. Learning as a newbie is what will sustain one in the forum all through the time that one will exist in the forum, but it is sad that some newbies thinks using their time time to learn which will bring better understanding is a waste of time.
Learning does not need to be rush in under to gain quick profits, but instead take your time exploring different boards in the forum, that way you will have an overview as to how this forum works. Certainly, patience matters a lot in learning, most especially if you want to analyze well the different topics that are being raised in the forum.

While it can be very profitable and productive for some, others have find it boring and not enjoyable. That’s because you are not devoted into your goal, and you are only here for shallow reason, to find quick profits which can’t be possible without deep learning at first.

You would actually know when you decide to dedicate more time to be active in the forum, that’s the only way you’ll learn how this forum operates. You don’t have to post necessarily, but reading and comprehension are a must. When you have understood enough, that’s the best time you join the forum’s discussion. For now, maximize your time first learning in the forum so that you will get updates how this forum currently works.

To grow easily in the forum, you have to make learning your priority. You also need to get yourself familiarize with the terms and conditions guiding the forum so that you won't go against it.

Hmm, I can't understand how you are gonna be against your priorities if you are not familiar with some of the terminologies I know each terminology contains a deep meaning against the topic you are discussing but it's not that impactful that you will go against the topic you are discussing. There are many other comments with different choices of words that may be helpful for you due to simple choice of words, anyway this was just a casual commnet.

It has a discussion forum so the biggest benefit you will get from here is that you can learn a lot from here especially about crypto and bitcoin. And here you will get an income opportunity that is from bounty campaign and if you have high bank account then you will get an opportunity to work on signature campaign from where you get a weekly payment.  But first of all you need to get good knowledge about this forum.  So keep an eye on the Meta board and on the other hand learn more about Crypto and Bitcoin. i think it can be a good advice for you

One of the ways you can  master the forum is by remaining active here in the forum, don't think of leaving the forum for so long because the more you stay away the more you miss your chances of growing in knowledge. Now they you are back, have a personal decision to remain active, try and refresh your memory by reading the forum rules, use the search button to get informations on topics you want to read about and focus on learning more by reading the thread of others so you learn from the comments of other members of the forum, take research as your hubby then ask questions when you get confused I believe once you start being very active you will enjoy the interaction that is always on here and you won't be far from improving your knowledge if it is what you are looking for.

You can also locate your local board and join the discussion there if you find it difficult to interact in a general board then when you get better in knowledge you start sharing your opinion and the information you have got as a result of the research you have made, hope you won't leave the forum again, all the best.

If you look at the bottom few posts in the section where you created this topic, you'll see that the bottom few posts have a lot of instructions for newbies. Every new member comes to the forum asking questions like you asked and they are answered accordingly. There is a considerable difference between a new member and an old member. A new member gets frustrated a little and they don't have the mindset to spend a long time on the forum. The first thing newbies need to do is to have enough patience and time on the forum. If you don't understand something, you should ask and keep trying to understand it. There are certain rules for posting in the forum, you must follow those rules before posting. If newbies have idea about these things then definitely newbies can stay in this forum and they can gain a lot from the forum.

The different board has a different topic to discuss its up to you now where you would like to focus, its ideal to visit the Beginners & help thread and Meta board first so you can heads up or get an idea with your start-up those informative threads are already pinned in each board so ideally better to take invest time to read this could be a preventive to create a redundant thread like other newbies do, now once you know where to take your path in the discussion try to learn from it, and analyze because possible in your journey in crypto you will experience what other does so you can now execute the possible solution and lessen the risk. Good luck to your path hope we see your contributions soon.

Untill you're ready as you embark in the forum, all extended efforts to you'd be a waste because it's possible that you could still have to give the forum a break again making it hard for yourself to cope on.
Can you please state what you want here in the forum? It'd be better if you're being specific in other to have one directional opinion and guidelines.
But you can read here as it'd would help you all through either to master the forum or to explore in your bitcoin and your crypto carriers.

is it necessary? This is a discussion forum where everything Bitcoin and crypto is discussed from a first person point of view and that means you're going to be sharing information that you know will be of help to help to the forum member or you're going to share a challenge you're facing and that you would need solution to. If it's going to be that you're sharing anything that's not directing from you, it should be that you saw something that you're confused about and you are sharing it to get clarity or that you saw an information that's going to be helpful and then you're bringing it to the board to had more value to what already exist here

Generally, be yourself. If it's not true, don't share it and and if you're not sure of what you're posting, be open enough to send an information you can defend should there come some questions along the way. If you're ready to learn and to grow on the forum, you've got all that's required to enable you get the best out of the forum and with the search engine on the forum, you get access to literally all the basic questions you would probably want to ask as a beginner. Welcome on board lad!

First, make sure you want to learn something from the forum. As a newbie you should follow who is saying what not saying what is doing what is writing in the forum and from there point out what you understand or don't understand. Many of you have provided various links about forum guidelines so try to master them. The most important thing is that you have to be a regular on the forum, because if you are consistent you can definitely gain something from it, if you are out of rhythm you won't get much out of it. Definitely stay here and try to learn and if you have any important knowledge share here so that everyone can benefit.
