I'm a newbie and I need your advice on how to go about things in this forum.
I joined this forum 2022 but I was not active so I really don't know how things work here.
I need help as a beginner and I will really appreciate your support in order for me to know more about this forum.

Thank you.
Every high-ranking account was once a newbie and many of them had little or no knowledge about the forum or Bitcoin. They were able to dedicate time to study materials in the forum and today they are well-grounded. Many rules of the forum are not written anywhere, so I will advise that you take some time and observe how the forum works. Try to pay attention to details in the forum and you learn faster  You don't need to always reply to posts, you can just take time to read and understand them.

You could also decide to go to your local board if they have one in the forum. The local board will be a good grooming ground for you to learn faster since you will be guided by your countrymen. Finally what will make you outstanding in the forum is your ability to contribute meaningfully to discussions. I will encourage you to keep learning which will help you to be an asset to the forum. You are welcome.

I need help as a beginner and I will really appreciate your support in other for me to know more about this forum.
I recommend you to learn about Bitcoin and its creator Satoshi Nakamoto and then try to visit the boards related to Bitcoin on this forum and read important topics at those board.

I suggest you to read threads/topics at board like Bitcoin discussion, Speculation, and Meta board as those are very useful board to learn about Bitcoin and about this forum.

If you already know about Bitcoin and want to learn about this forum only then I suggest you to read topics at Meta board.

First of all you are welcome ones again, though I don't have much to say because others has already given you all that you need to know but however reading is very important and if you are ready to read you will learn so many things  especially Bitcoin related things and those are the things that would make you contribute positively in terms making a post.

New in the forum? Welcome.
There's so much to learn from the community if you abide by its rules whose link has already been provided by the first user to comment.

My Recommendations
1. Read more than you create topics. If you do, you'll see that most of the newbie questions have already been answered.
2. Use the search button to search for whatever topic about bitcoin comes to mind or anything about the forum. The results will amaze you.
3. In your replies, you may be tempted to pass off someone else's work as your own for reasons best known to you. Please don't. It is called plagiarism. You will be caught and be given a ban.
4. The same goes with artificial intelligent written posts.

Ok sir but can I take idea from somewhere and then write about it In my own words.
Paraphrasing without proper citation is plagiarism. Why would you even want to pass someone else’s work as your own? Engaging in forum discussions is not rocket science. Most topics are Bitcoin related and if you truly have interest in cryptocurrency, then it will not be long before you catch up. Authenticity is rewarded by the community so be yourself when making posts.

Chiomaobi, it is best to be guided by common sense. Or even better, put yourself in the shoes of a moderator and evaluate whether you would consider your contribution worthy of deletion or not.

Original ideas are very rare, and knowledge is usually based on the path traveled by others previously. As a newbie, you may not be asked to always keep a high standard of originality, but quote your sources if you think that you are not contributing anything new, and try not to just reorder other people's words as it could be considered plagiarism or spam.

Just my two sats.

Apart from rules, posting guidelines and everything don't forget to engage in the discussions, especially in the thread you created because that's the purpose of a forum which is to discuss and share knowledge.

There are different sections which you can pick to post as you wish but don't mess around. Finally read more don't just post everything unless it has something to say in it.

The forum can be a difficult place to settle into, more difficult for people with no knowledge of cryptocurrency, people with no experience of being in a forum like this, and sometimes people with low self-esteem. This is why you must take your time and be patient while trying to become used to how the forum works. If you are not yet confident to start up topics and discussions, it is okay for you to just spend your time for the now reading through other people's topics and learning from their opinion until you can gain confidence.

Just to add what others have been said already, you just have to go around the forum, read and read. That's what I do when I was a beginner and still at lost in this community. So I just explore everything, have some fun and then when it's time for me to ask question or created my own thread, then I do it with confidence.

And obviously this is a community so you have to follow the rules and be cordial to each other.

For sure you are going to enjoy your stay here if you truly want to learn about Bitcoin and crypto in general.

At the beginning of every board there are some sticky topics. These are the forum rules. You should read those topics first. What you need to do next is spend more time on the forum. The posts and comments of various forum members should be read carefully. In this way, when your knowledge on various subjects increases, you will participate in active discussion. This is how you need to grow up in the forum.

Besides the general rules, there's really nothing new you need to know. Bitcointalk is just a typical online forum, just that we like to talk about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies a lot. That's just it. All your learning will be off-site; as Bitcointalk will mostly just be the place to talk about things.

Welcome to the forum. In addition to the advice and suggestions that’s been shared, I think you should also work on building your interest in Bitcoin and the forum. You say you were registered in 2022 but was not active until now, I suggest you find an area of the forum that you’re particularly interested in or find discussions there engaging and grow your knowledge from there. I usually advice newbies to get acquainted with their local board if they have one and I can see you have already found yours.

You are a beginner in this forum. Welcome to that.

First of all if a beginner joins this forum then they are first asked to follow the post about the rules of this forum and how they will post the posts which every beginner should do.

There is no end to learning, try to learn from whatever situation you are in. You have a lot to learn from this forum if you follow these community rules properly. Try to find out things yourself and ask community members about them. If someone gives you good advice, try to take it well. I have told many beginners before even today I am telling you again to spend more time here to increase your cryptocurrency knowledge. Spending more time will allow you to spend more time reading the posts here which will benefit you.

To grow easily in the forum, you have to make learning your priority. You also need to get yourself familiarize with the terms and conditions guiding the forum so that you won't go against it.
Learning never ends; learn as you go. The more time the Op can devote to the forum, the more he can easily learn things about the forum; we can't learn everything all at once.

And I also think if one pays much attention to reading through old and educating threads, it will be way easier to understand the forum and even ask fewer questions.

My advice for you is very simple. Please read, that's all you need to know how things on this forum work.

In Beginners & Help board, you see "Newbies - Read before posting" and this topic was mentioned in other replies. You asked while you did not read anything before posting.

That topic is a big thread with given links to many more educational and informative threads which can help you learn about the forum, without asking basic questions.

Welcome friend!
Now, you have to be active so that you'll get the help that you're gonna need as you navigate the forums from each sections to the other. It will take a few minutes of life for checking the rules[1] of the forum so that you'll get to familiarize yourself of the do's and don'ts of it and for your guidance. Engage in topics that you want to know more and don't derail it. It's fine to ask questions that you don't know about.

Before asking question you should know for yourself about what is your priority or what caught your interest on why you came back here. So that you can focus in something and try to learn with it since its nonsense for people to suggest something then you are not ready to learn those suggestion given. Since imagine you learn about this forum way back 2022 but still you didn't learn and choose to be inactive. So better try to seek information about your interest then leap go to another activities or other topic once you are ready to learn new things again. If you are just eager to learn more about this forum and content inside for sure you familiarize this forum and will not go inactive since there's lot to enjoy here.

First and foremost, I welcome you to Bitcointalk. I will assume you haven't explore through the forum, but here is a thread specially for newbies

Newbies - Read before posting: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/newbies-read-before-posting-1689727

The link above contains all the necessary things you need to know as a newbie. Also try to explore through the sub links that talks about other things relating to the forum as well.

My personal advice:
1. Try as much as possible to follow the forum rules
2. Do not disrespect those who give you advice (whether in a cool way or tough way)
3. If you are on this forum, then it means you might have dedicated some of your time to reading and carrying out research.
4. Always ask questions, but not in a rude manner.
5. And lastly, if you can't tolerate people in your physical world, then am sorry to tell you that you might find it very difficult here. In other sense, try to be as flexible as possible with everyone here.
