Closing a tab on my browser when I found bitcoin back in '09 or '10...

I even downloaded and read the paper... Figured I'd "get around to hopping on board eventually"... Sigh... I could see the potential, but just got distracted with too many other meaningless, stupid things.

But, other than that, nothing too serious. I did some crappy buying/selling, but nothing like what I've seen other people lose in this thread.

I still think bitcoin is a buy right now.

My guess for the future regrets is spending bitcoins on purchases where I could have used fiat instead.

Probably the worst trend in fiat it towards plastic bills like Canada is now issuing. When it becomes toilet paper, it's not even good for that. Tongue Might as well spend that crap and get rid of it now. Cheesy

My biggest regrets are not getting in sooner, not buying more and holding more. But you just have to keep focus and not think about past but future. So lets buy some Bitcoin!
No kidding.  But now it is happening all over again.  This time with Mastercoin.  I didn't buy enough Mastercoin.  Today, it costs 4 times what it did just two months ago.  I should have bought a truckload.  I wonder if I'll be saying the same thing when it is 40 times that value.

I bought Litecoin, once.

Biggest regrets:
* bought LTC at 0.002, sold all at 0.004, then it went on to rise to a height of 0.05+
* bought 23 shares LTCGLOBAL at 500 LTC per share, sold at 20 LTC per share since it's shutting down.
* sold 25% of my BTC holdings at $100 (though my average price was $15, so I still recovered my original investment already)

Having heard about them from Max Keiser in 2010 when Bitcoin was worth .08 dollars. Made a quick attempt to buy $1000  worth of Bitcoin. But couldn't quickly find a way. Closed my browser being distracted by another investment that went nowhere.

Just kidding. The silk road didn't exist in 2009, did it? Actually did any website accept bitcoins in 2009?
There wasn't even a GitHub project up back then.

Finding it in 2009 would have been really impressive.

Hopefully Bitcoin will make banks obsolete. Deciding what I can and cannot do with MY money.

You need to change the way you think about "money". It is not yours, and you have little say in where it goes. They make it, they control it, and they can print as much of it as they see fit. You trade hours of your life for it, but at the end of the day, it's just debt. THEIR debt, and it is backed by even MORE debt.

Every dollar you hold is dropping in value as you read this. And the time and sweat you burned to earn it can never be bought back.

It's just a number in their machine, and you're completely expendable in their eyes.

That is the reality of living in a fiat system. The sooner you see it for what it is, the sooner you will learn to take true control of your life.

I know it's tough, but you can fight your way out of it. Don't give me that society makes it hard bullshit.

I have respect for people that are willing to fight. However, I've learned that some fights are best avoided even if conceding hurts your ego.

Choose your battles wisely Smiley

I'm still a customer at that bank ...

I just bitch slapped you across the internets. This was in friendship.

When you receive poor service, stop giving them your business! Geeze... this is why we don't have nice things.

The other banks aren't better and society is such that going without a bank account isn't a valid option .... I cannot hurt the bank, I can only hurt myself, and I refuse to do that./

Hopefully Bitcoin will make banks obsolete. Deciding what I can and cannot do with MY money.

Giving up trying to wire money to Bitstamp when my bank simply refused to comply (after blocking my account twice) in early 2012, trying to buy more Bitcoin. I'm still a customer at that bank ...

No unanticipated losses, particularly since my spending money in Instawallet was eventually returned.  Trajectory on target for a decent win in the end.  No real regrets so far except that I've been to lazy, fascinated with the price rise, and focused on how I might capitalize to take the time to really understand the system in a deep technical way or make any contributions.
