If indeed I really need money, then I will go into the market and sell it immediately no matter whether the price of the coin is rising or falling. But if my financial condition is good, then I will hold back until the price is a little more expensive. This is indeed not easy because they have to fight the fear of whether prices will fall further.

It's okay, let us just take it as a lesson learned, I have been depressed too, I earned $20k from a token I am holding but thinking it will be $100k then it dumped and never returned, so the price now is only $2k, this was the biggest lesson in my life, I have move on so far and told myself not to expect much of it.
I am very sad to your story you should sell it at 20k$ or at least half of it and you can hold the other half . If you just get it free don't expect to much and increase the price base on your expectation not all the time will be in favor to you.
Stories like that are very common, think about all the people that bought bitcoin in 2017 and thought they were going to be rich when the market was growing up every day.

And then the market began going down and instead of selling their coins they kept holding thinking the market will keep growing only to be completely crushed when the market crashed during the entire year of 2018, the truth is that you need to be prepared and have a stop loss ready in case you need it.
Most amateur investors join the surge train of Bitcoin in 2017 because they might have heard it from friends and family members without actually knowing much about crypto and how the market works. Hence, it is clear that most of them did not know the strategy of stop loss when the need arose. In the same way most of them joined through FOMO, some sold through FUD when the price started dropping and this was what caused the further drop in price of Bitcoin in 2018 - the reason for the long bear market in 2018.

I sold most of my altcoins with a small loss but compensated with a profit from other coins. But so far there are many altcoins left in my portfolio that have stopped moving forward. I hope that someday they will resume their activity or someone will buy their smart contract.

the way you do it is good because it converts on coins that do not have a good volume. and if you have several tokens that don't have volume I think forget it because it will be difficult for them to rebuild and compete in the market. maybe just a few times to check, but don't expect more for coins like that

You should not rely on your emotions and you do some evaluation about the token or the project that you have joined. You should always keep up on updates so you will not miss any opportunity or any news that may affect the price. Don't be lazy and just sit back because it is all about paying attention and having patience in terms of investing and holding. Better luck next time.

I personally prefer not to do anything and will never sell my altcoin at a lower purchase price, so that I don't feel a loss.
I believe with what I invest every patience must produce maximum results.
only a strong person will win.
I admire such a strong hope for the best of things. After one has performed all the necessary researches on projects and identify the true potentials of the coin in possession, it is good to stay patient and wait on the project as it develops gradually to its full potentials. Crypto belongs to those who can exercise patience because it is not practically a get-rich-quick avenue.
I am not so sure I share the same sentiment, it is true that people are often told that holding their coins is a good idea but there are many cases in which the best thing you can do is to accept a small loss now than a larger loss tomorrow.

And when it comes to icos this is even more true, the market of icos is in the middle of a crisis, one of which I do not think it will recover, then investing and holding any coins coming from icos is not a good idea.

Note that many altcoins are just repetitive of what their other alts are offering the markwt and to be sincere most of this projects just fall under pum and dump, np real usecase pffwr for the users which implies that there is slight marging of tjis coins surviving and hobestly mpst have never surpass their ath yet in a long time

In a situation of a global decline in the price of altcoins, I try to be out of the market and keep money in dollars. When I see the prospect of short-term growth, I buy some assets. But still, now I would refrain from shopping, since the market situation is ambiguous. The most important rule is not to invest more than you can afford to lose.

That's a good way friend, don't be too ambitious to make decisions, altcoin is indeed when it's not calm and the market is always changing, I also often get stuck when buying altcoin, from there I decided to choose altcoin stablecoin to make it safer.
We all are well aware of the present condition of whole digital market. It is going through a tough dip. However, this will not remain the case forever and therefore, it is best and most beneficial to choose coins that have the most chances of growing. In my opinion, an investor should always try to buy bitcoin first because it is the best coin. Still if someone wants altcoin, then ethereum is the choice.

indeed patience is a very important key to be able to get a lot of profit because if you have a nature that is easily affected and cannot control your patience then you will find it difficult to benefit from what you do, trading as much as possible should be calm if prices fall then don't panic because Your assets remain safe if trading is buying and selling in cryptocurrency.

when patience is being tested, what are you doing in this market, is your routine still the same as usual or change other options?
we dont always watch market activity, we can do others usefull thing in trading, like read trading books, read CT, read and understand project, etc.

Quote
selling at a low price is the same as selling a loss, and that is not a good solution. if you are a market player, you will know how to survive or take advantage of the market in any condition.
not always, selling a loss can be also part of trading strategy, it calls stop loss. we have to cut the loss to avoid bigger loss

By dollars, I hope you don't mean USDT/Tether or some other stablecoin, because I was just telling myself the other day if I should do this, but then looking at the condition of Tether (the company) even though they have survived til today,,, I do not know if we can trust centralized crypto to last if the market really does crash.

The bear market is truly a test of patience of the crypto community in general, both those who have been in crypto for years and those who are just joining the space are being tested during this period, some are able to weather the storm while others just give up and left in search for something new,
sometimes during this period you are tempted to sell because the market keep depreciating in price and your invest just going down the whole, but is selling at loss the solution? No, i don't encourage selling especially when the team are always working hard to keep the project development going, am still hodling my alts despite the price has reduce alot compare to when i bought them, i believe the market will regain and i will recover my investment and profit as well.

It needs to have patience when it comes to this type of invesment, you need to wait for the good time to sell and when the value crashes, you might aswell wait or sell and look for a better entry point.
people might end up losing more money if they cant wait or they expect fast profits in a short duration of time.

Before investing, we already have a target to invest in something like cryptocurrency. when it still has not increased, then the momentum analysis to find out when the increase will occur must be done or rather we do a review of the investments we have done so we can get a profit
Unstable market is so very tempting, it can push you to sell out your coins, patience will always be tested we badly needed this in our trading ,it makes us frustrated that we need to sell all coins because we are afraid that we might be left out and our coins will be go with inflation .

I have been a altcoin lover from the start and i don't tend to stop holding or investing in altcoins, all i need is patience for the long term hold, there will be no problem if you hold good altcoins that are useful, i belief that altcoin holders will be the most favorable in few years

I bought some altcoin and got some tokens from the bounty, but i didn't want to sell them until at least the coins reached the ICO price but for people who are impatient maybe they will sell their assets because the bear market is prolonged until now

Not all should be hold. As a crypto enthusiast there is a timeline for these project to sustain and have their great time so better not to waste those time if that point has already arrived. Dont be greedy sell it if done some serious profit already. Not all the time the market is green and now is in the red market I understand that selling isn't appropriate but always check if that project progress or not. It's better to have something than nothing right?

Usually some coins that enter exchanges the first time and the price is under ICO price. Those coins will be really hard to recover because people are not trusting the project.
So becareful holding those kind of coins
sometimes the coins generated from the bounty campaign when entering the market list have volume but are not profitable when directly sold, sometimes it is a mistake because of the greed to sell it at a high price. I think to this extent if you get coins from campaign results you should set a target to sell them because most coins like that don't develop much in the future and can become shitcoin
