well i think instead of putting another issue on this one?better we should be thankful at least Youtube brings back crypto in their platform because this is one important part of advertising about cryptocurrency.

and besides they had already admit mistakes, this is one professional approach on their part.

Does anyone have a full list of channels that got wiped? When I first saw people complaining about this I figure it was just the scammy channels trying to sell you ICOs and ponzis etc but it seems that's not the case.

Despite the apologies, I still think bitcoin video enthusiasts should migrate to decentralised video hosting sites like D tube: https://d.tube/

I'm sure many people would rather use something else but like it or not youtube is where the money and traffic is right now so people are still going to use it even with all its flaws. It's the same with many things now even when there's better alternatives. I'm not sure why people are still using ebay when there's plenty other cheaper of even free ways to sell your stuff online and ebay's fees have always been ridiculous and I'm sure someday that will shoot them in the foot if they don't lower them.

Let's not forget how many times Google makes such accident.

Anyone still remember Google Home accidentally listening to the users all the time? Accident or Not, Google's Eavesdropping Mistake Is Terrifying

They're a ridiculously huge company and they can't manually check everything due to the sheer quantity of videos being uploaded every second so mistakes are going to be made and collateral damage will happen from time to time when things are automated but the onus should be on how fast they rectify these mistakes and if they do at all. Luckily in this case they seem to have sorted it quite quickly.

We should have our own decentralized one but we can't deny the fact that youtube could really help us promote videos for adoptions since they have a lot of viewers and they are very popular,.. maybe we wills start supporting out own slowly but surely we will be able to compete with youtube.

Even they have a great contribution for bitcoin, that was not the end from promoting on other things like Google and also by some blogger who want to introduce bitcoin so it was not the end.

Our news team recently had a chance to speak with Tone Vays and Tai Zen about the Youtube incident:

The drive to take back control of the narrative by “Big Gov” and “Big Tech” is making ever wider circles.

What started out with the ban of the channels of controversial political commentators like Alex Jones from Youtube back in 2018 or Milo Yiannopoulus from Twitter back in 2016 and creeped over the years to hit other more or less prominent public figures challenging the existing dominant narrative of Western societies, struck in the newest crackdown this week a whole range of large “Crypto” related channels on Youtube.

While some people on “Crypto” Twitter expressed satisfaction with the move by Youtube to remove “ICO scammers” (in which certainly a fair amount of the targeted people fall, but not all of them) from their platform; other people called for...[click for full article here]

I do not believe in the error theory either, to me this seemed like an attempt to censor those channels and see if they could get away with it, when they found out they could not sweep this under the rug they decided to back down and make it seem like a mistake and apologize about it, I have no doubts this will happen again until they finally can get away with it, so the advice to store that content in other video hosting sites seems like a great idea from my point of view.

Hmmm. This got me thinking, probably, maybe yes maybe not.

However, being the biggest video streaming platform, I doubt that they don't know the repercussions of their drastic moved. Maybe it was a hasty decision on their part to put a blanket ban and realised that people are going to scream at them and it did. That's why they admit their mistakes for damage control.
At this point anything is possible, the only way to know if this is true or not will depend on the actions that we see youtube taking in the future, if many years pass and nothing like this happens again then this could have been a mistake but if we see youtube trying this again in the future then we will know for sure that they have the aim to censor the content related to cryptocurrencies on their platform, but regardless of which one is the correct answer it seems wise to me that those that have that kind of content in youtube begin to use other platforms as well.

The popularity of YouTube can not be underestimated, if the dtube that will see the content is only people who are familiar with crypto, while on YouTube can attract new investors as long as the content offered is interesting to watch.
Enjoy the facilities without having to think badly of them.

I was impressed by D.tube it has many good features and prides itself on being decentralized. There so many crypto videos there and they very helpful. I am surprised and impressed by the amount of videos available. Is there a way for people to monotonize themselves like youtube? Do videos you upload give you crypto? Im asking since i will never know since i do not make videos.

D tube is built on top of the Steem network.

So after you have uploaded your Dtube video, simply post it on Steemit. If people like it, they'll upvote and you'll earn Steem.

Really? I didn't know that I'll try using it some other time. Although i wasn't affected by how youtube treat or approach btc or other alts by committing an error but I believe it has a direct to some youtube uploaders specially the youtubers in crypto related content.

I don't think it would be going that way. YouTube has been in the internet surface, and people especially crypto enthusiast are used to use it. Though there may be few who would take this more seriously and probably would migrate into such site. But I don't think majority would do the same. And besides, YT already admitted that it was their mistake, so may be for now and for some others apology accepted.
Kinda hard to migrate if majority of content and the users are still sticking in youtube. It's like you're given the option to choose  a website with full content but deleting some of your favorite videos or to choose a website with no content at all. Not to mention that the whole thing that happening right now is just a big misunderstanding, definitely not gonna drive people to switch from youtube.

This incident is indeed a mistake that has been recognized by YouTube, and I think YouTube is still a platform that is used to promote crypto and also I think to switch places it will be difficult too, therefore YouTube is still the best place for video media

It is not just the content creators should be migrated if that happens, remember, the reason why the creators keep making numerous crypto related videos is because of the viewers. And it is the hardest part to make it happen. Youtube is the best and the most accessible video platform we could ever had to promote cryptocurrency. And taking it away will show pride and might create boundaries with cryptocurrency and the public especially those who aren't crypto supporters. Let us be harmonious and let's try our best to still stick with youtube.

YouTube has reinstated hundreds of crypto-currency related channels after admitting it had removed them "in error".

A wave of YouTubers received notifications that their videos were in breach of the platform's terms of service earlier this week.

The move appeared to target smaller channels and publishers that focused on Bitcoin and crypto-currency content.

The Google-owned video sharing platform has since apologised for the mistake.

YouTube said in a statement that it had "made the wrong call" and confirmed that any content mistakenly removed would be restored.

"With the massive volume of videos on our site, sometimes we make the wrong call," it said.

"When it's brought to our attention that a video has been removed mistakenly, we act quickly to reinstate it."

It said there had been no changes to its polices, and insisted there would be "no penalty" to any channels that were affected by the incident.

Despite the apologies, I still think bitcoin video enthusiasts should migrate to decentralised video hosting sites like D tube: https://d.tube/

D.tube is good but there are still a lot of things to be desired, I will support any projects that dare to compete with Youtube, but of course, that project should first think the welfare of the users and not just out there to make money by creating their own token and selling it without a promise of giving us a video sharing site like Youtube.

YouTube is not the content creator rather we are the one who create contents and they are monetized by YouTube for many years. Content creators are given only few bucks of their hard work. So let it be the opportunity to monetize our content our self by populating decentralized sites like https://d.tube.

Maybe it is because of the fact that there's a lot of paid youtubers who are promoting scam projects too, so for me, it deserves to be deleted so that it cannot manipulate the mind of the people, especially those who are newbies and seeking for more information regarding a certain project.

Frankly speaking, this is not new. These corporate companies can do anything like this against crypto community. If we try out other platforms where we can freely post our videos or watch it without thinking then we may have a new brand for our self.

But the point why we need youtube basically is because youtube opens up the opportunity for non cryptocurrency users to know and figure out what cryptocurrency is. In relation to this, youtube has comparably higher percentage of attracting market adoption of people in buying crypto. Though, they already admitted their mistakes about banning some videos, we cannot disregard the fact that they are proven now to be truly against cryptocurrency.

I'm not that affected since I am not a video creator on Youtube and I seldom watch videos there but I felt bad for those creators who probably panicked why that happened. Anyway, it is a good thing that they have apologized for the "error" as some would probably just get on without any explanation. I hope everyone's videos will be restored too.
It is not only for vloggers who are creating a video about crypto, but it is about all of us, crypto users. Most of them are indeed panicked since there is no one who knows what really happened. Even if this is some kind of error, or they really are trying something, the damage is there even if they apologize. Sadly, this incident will be forgotten and youtube can continue to do anything they want again.

I do agree despite the popularity of Youtube.
About the error though.
I don't think that is really the case here.
There might be some agenda behind this and they are already trying it out.
It is easy to reason out since people will still use their service and it will just be forgotten.
