So everything is in the title.
What can you do when you have been scammed ? what are your possibilities to recover your funds, I mean here in the community, excepting going and report to the police.

I do not think that there would be any remedy when you have been scammed.  Just stand up forget about it and start to earn and invest again.  As we all know when we sent our bitcoins it cannot be turned back.  It is irreversible.    Just go on with your life and started to work again.

I think if we were fooled by bitcoin, we couldn't even do anything, because bitcoin is anonymous, and we can't find out who cheated you?
All you have to do is be careful next time.

If I've been scammed the best to do is cry out loud so that this will help to ease pain and anger. If you've been scammed once, though its hard to accept but you will learn from that experience, You cannot recover your funds unless the person who scammed you feel guilt about it. take refresh by yourself and I believe in saying that in order to become successful person you will experience the struggles and adversities-this will helps and leads you to achieve your goal in life.

Well, I will treat this as a lesson for me and make sure that next time I would see to it that I investigated the ICO or other things that I am entering especially when it is about investing money. But, honestly I have been always thankful that I experienced scam with that I am here due to that happens so for me everything happens for a reason.

First thing you do, is to report it under the scam section on this forum. Other people will pitch in to see if it is a scam and if it

is something new. Once you have done that, the community will respond to warn others. A lot of the most common scams are

reported here --> http://www.badbitcoin.org/thebadlist/ ... If you are lucky a white hat might offer to help you.  Wink

Just move on if you are scammed or try to report if your investments can be recoverable. But if not you should see this as a lesson and experience where not everything here is easy. Just be careful next time and dont stop learning and asking about here so that you can minimize your risk of being scammed again.

I am not sure how much effective it will be, if you go to the cops and complain that you have been conned out of your Bitcoins. Here in India, Bitcoin is illegal and the cops will most likely press charges against you and demand hefty bribes. And where I live, the cops are very famous for their boorish behavior. I would avoid them at all cost.

It depends on the scam, but normally I would say the chances are quite low. We actually have a really good example on how to try to recover from a scam. I'm talking about bitconnet, since it took huge proportions and a lot of eyes are on that case will be solved. I think it's a good thing they are taking them to court, but I really doubt it will lead to anything. I think that on the majority of other scams, the people behind them are not even identified, so you can't really do anything.

I believe there is nothing much you can do once you get scammed. Cryptocurrencies aren't regulated in some countries and the government would be able to do anything about it. The only thing you could to is to prevent it in the first place. You could either avail an escrow service (A trusted escrow ofcourse) or you could probe the person you are dealing with and make sure that, that person has a good and clean background. When in doubt, study the person.

You can't do anything just to recover your funds actually. once a fund was send there is no way to recover it from your personal/alt wallet/adress.  Since it's decentralized there are no banks or what so ever to reverse the transaction. just take caution when handeling your wallet never let anyone get access to your private key.

What kind of a scam are you talking about? Answering this would help in making the replies a bit more specific.

Though in most cases not much that you can do. Learn a lesson from it.

Is very hard to recover your found when you are already scammed because this is an online platform and at that you don't have much evidence, it best you just protect your self from being scammed you need to have adequate knowledge about any transactions and programs you sigh up with. Never reveals you secret key to any body.

There is very little thing to do and you must just accept it. The internet is a harsh place for people and many demons are just taking advantage and just using other people for their own benefit. These scams should be evaded by speculating deeply the background of a certain entity and making super safe decisions.

There is no way you can recover those coins if someone able to hacked or have access to your wallet and get it from you because all cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible. If you will be able to trace every transactions of address that the scammer uses then it could be possible especially if he/she use an exchange but that's not simple thing you can do by your own because there are mixing services that can be used so that it will be hard to trace any transactions because it breaks the connection between the address sending the coins and the destination address.

Scam is when a person or a group of people invited to invest and promised you profits. But instead they ran with your money and left you with nothing.

I think it's not possible to have your money back from those scam bags and you have no choice but to accept the fact that you lost your money and move on. Carry with you the lesson not to trust too much and try to have research first before investing.

Scams are all over the place so just be as a detective as you can before going in such circumstances.
You can't blame anyone unless it's you or the scammers.

I think it is very hard to imagine doing something regarding scams especially if you can not seek help from the authorities. I think the only thing I can do is to be at my most careful state whenever I visit sites and look out for possible scams. I will have research and background checks in companies that may have scam possibilities. I will also make myself educated in Information and communication technology so at least I have some self defense against scam.
I think this is right. Prevention for me is better than cure. We also have the responsibility to educate ourselves in technology and to scam possibilities. We need to be guarded from phising, scam and many more since cryptocurrency is decentralized it is very hard to trace who the scammer would be. So, for us to be able to prevent those from happening, let us educate ourselves and research.

I feel sorry for those who were scammed and hopefully it won't happen to others. The best thing to do is to learn about it and make sure that it won't happen to others by sharing your experience and telling them what exactly happened. Most of the people go to social media to share their experience but you have to think twice before doing the same. Also, you can report them to the authorities and directly point the person who conned you. It will never be a crime if its not reported so do your thing as a victim.
