There are different kid of scam, and some could be reported to the police and other authorities. They question is how can you prove that you are scammed and the supporting details it contain. If you knew who and can directly pinpoint the person that took advantage of your money or crypto then you have a chance to bring the case to the police, other wise, it could be a very difficult investigation. That is why most of the time people that are get scammed just look for a way to recover their loss in their own way.

What can you do when you have been scammed ?
If its a crypto related scam, there's no way to recover the fund as we know that crypto transactions aren't reversible just like PayPal.

what are your possibilities to recover your funds, I mean here in the community, excepting going and report to the police.
The only way to recover those funds if the scammer is willing to return the fund to your wallet. Why are you asking this? Have you been scammed? Would you care to share your experience on where and how you've been scammed?

But if the scammer is recognizable and you have his identity the last resort would be filing a report to the authority.

Trust no one.

Never react base on emotions, and think before you proceed to act (i.e. send money for someone). Always be cautious.

If it is too good to be true, then it probably is. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence before they convince you.

All you can do when you encountered this kind of event, first of all you have to report that kind of scam, and let the authority fix that matter. The most important thing to do is to improve or strengthen the security and privacy of your account especially for those account which have not verified yet.

I will do a super big regrets coz everything that I work goes to nothing. Even I cried and shout it will not help me. I do a moment of recovering by forgetting what is past and bad things that was happen and always remembering the lesson from mistakes.

I believe in a saying that states  "The best medecine is prevention" because most often you can't do something after you scammed specially in the internet and cryptomarket. Its a matter of analysis and prevention of that event. I suggest that before you invest you must investigate and be conservative about it.

I think if it's hard to do something, we don't want to take back our losses?
Because bitcoin is anonymous, we can't find people who lie to you through our wallet address.
What a sad thing it is.
I wish you good luck

If you got scammed it was your own mistake and you should pay for it. Or at least that is what I think.

If we speak about scam where you have lost your money, as far as i know there is low chances for your founds to be returned. To avoid losing you money, when you do trading go through a trusted source (third party) to do trading for you. Check out Lauda. She is a trusted member of this forum and have done this kind of jobs before. There are others too, and it should not be hard for you to find them.

If we speak about scam where you have lost your account here on forum. In that case best thing you can do is contact support and report scam. Same thing apply to other sites i guess.

My advice to all people out there is to stay away from shady people and sites. Visit only legitimate sites and do business only with people that you trust, if not apply what i said about trading.
This forum have good system, where people get Trust (positive or negative) for things they have done, which minimize possibility of scamming.

If it were so easy to recover funds that you don't have access to anymore, cryptocurrencies would be kinda pointless.

Doxxing is rarely possible, almost never helps and usually goes wrong resulting in collateral damage.

So in short: Take a lesson, cut your losses and move on. The only thing that we as a community can do is try to educate people on how to avoid scams in the first place. Especially newcomers seem to lose every bit of common sense when entering crypto. Look after them.

You can try availing of a blockchain analysis service somewhere, in the hopes that you may be able to trace the scammer. There's not much you can do beyond that though, and it's very very unlikely you'll ever recover your funds.

Bitcoin gives you complete freedom on how to use your money, but that comes with the downside of being completely responsible for it. It sucks, but the only solution to scams is to not be a victim.

It is hard to recover the money that has been scammed. I am a victim also of scam, the group that I join is a trading but when there is a sudden drop in Bitcoin they have a hard time to earn the money that they will give to their colleagues. Be careful when you are using internet there are many scammers here just ask first. Don't spend big money when it is your first time. There are many using this stuff also when it comes to Bitcoin. You don't have any choice you will just accept that you are been scammed. Be careful.

Not much you can do, probably. Losing cryptocurrencies is just like losing your wallet with paper-cash in it.

Best is to avoid getting scammed in the first place.

But if that is too late, then I guess it really depends on the nature of the scam. Can the person scamming you be identified?
Are you able to track where those coins went to? i.e. if they got sent to an exchange, perhaps you can contact the exchange to see if they are willing to freeze it.

It is hard to do something in the internet if you don't know the person who spam of you. A lot of spams happened in the last few years but only a little of them been catched.
